arg, no! It was coming to the area and I waited to long to get tickets and it sold out. *cries*

I do own the sound track and have read the script (at least, as far as I know it was the complete script, and I adore it (from what I have seen). I really love the sounds "Defying Gravity", "No Good Deed", and "For Good".

Oh, and "Loathing". I love "Loathing". It had me in hysterics the first time I heard it.

*giggles* Me too. I got to go see it in Dallas about a week ago, and I (the cheapest person of all time) bought the $25 soundtrack because I loved the show so much.

If you love "Defying Gravity" on the soundtrack, then you'd be awed if you saw it live. My mouth was hanging open and I had goosebumps... man... it was awesome. I really like "Dancing Through Life" and "I'm Not That Girl" too. Ooh, and "The Wizard and I" is good too. I love the whole thing, actually, LOL.

Me too. I creep people out at school sometimes because none of my friends have seen the show but I sing songs from it all the time.

Wicked was plain awesome. I saw it at Fair Park, as well. (I assume that's where you saw it in Dallas, as I can think of no place else...^^)

The ending was a little weird...I hear the book's ending is much different and much more depressing...

Anyway, I thought it was pretty well-done and funny... I've seen a lot of the musicals this season. I was skeptical before I saw my first one, but I started loving them the more I went.

Peter Pan and The Producers were well-done, I think. (The Producers was Oh-So-Wrong, though! )

I haven't gotten quite that obsessed yet... though I jokingly started talking about planning a trip to the gershwin theater to see it with some people I talk to on another forum and completely wierded them out because they had never heard of it before. I kept quoting the most random things from it and I think they thought I was a little insane.

Ahah. I thought the musical version's ending was depressing--granted, I haven't seen it, just read the synopsis.

My sister read the book, I didn't. She said that it was full of depressing junk and that the characters were no where near as likeable as the ones in the show. She never said anything to me about sexual innuendo, but she did mention the use of the f-word and several other things that make this so that it's definately NOT a children's tale...

I decided that I would just continue to adore the show and ignore the book. lol.

There is no way the book can top the musical, what, with the music being by Steven Schwartz and the characters randomly breaking out into dance and song throughout the plot.

The book was wicked asome! I have not seen the show and am not likly to.
I am reasonably sure not show could be better than the book though. It has no graphic sex! It is an higher lvl book though. I did not think it was depresing because it had a unhappy ending. How did the show end? And in the show was she born with shark teeth?

Nope, no shark teeth. *is kind of creeped out at the thought of Elphaba with shark teeth*

I've heard that the book is a lot darker, and I really loved the show. I've had "For Good" stuck in my head the past three days.
