ADOPTING DIVERSE SCIENCE FOR CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT

Science is development. It has paved the way for the generation of new concepts, ideas and processes to initiate reform in almost any field of human existence either in the natural or artificial way of bringing result of any undertakings. History revealed that the development of science and technology, as a system and as a phenomena of change , triggered new reforms in every usual systems to bring forth innovations, interventions, inventions and integrations to improve the way of life of every mankind .
Science is an agent of change. It had shared milestone of concepts, theories and fundamental truth about life and culture, society and its changes, nature and every system of men'e life evolution and development. It is therefore imperative for us to embrace the application or adaptation of science and its culture in initiating changes and facilitating developments. We can vividly gleaned that people who have applied the various concepts of modern science and technology in the appreciation of their lives and culture seemed to be more productive, pro-active and prepared to accept modern ways of improving lifestyle and fashion, ways of living and attitudes toward social changes.
We have seen that nations who were noted for their powers and influences in the global arena of development had advance sciences in any field of interest. They have advanced system and process of making things, of transforming ideas into productive processes and in initiating result-based experimentations and interventions in generating developments. These nations, ike Japan, USA , Europe and other economic giants in the entire universe, had well established scientific approaches in generating new and more pro-active, technologies of treating social, cultural, political , economic and environmental changes. They had productive development programs as compared to people or races who have not accepted modern and diversed science in transforming their lives and culture.
Indeed, great nations have great science. Their growth as a nation greatly influenced their attitude of looking at things around them, of interpreting phenomenoms brought about by nature’s activities and physical changes as they relate it to their own existence with more scientific interpretation rather than just basing it on antiquated and unproven beliefs and superstitions. They had deeper critical awareness of the impact of nature and ecology in reshaping their development initiatives rather than just initiating changes based on their intuitions and speculations. They adopted science as a major tool of development with a more focus way of utilizing every proven process of initiating changes in their society. They used science in their way of life and in improving their own culture of disciplines as a peopla in dealing with human behavior. They advanced their system of education invoking the importance of science and technology in every field. be it in agriculture, industry, social services, infrastructure, business, politics and economy.
We, as Filipinos , can also be at par with these great nations if we change our culture of interest and discipline as a people. We can not deny the fact that we are prone to live with our old ways that hampered us to adopt modern approaches and attitude of initiating developments in our lives and culture. We are too conscious and conservative with our customs’ and traditions leaving us behind in almost every aspect of development. We hesitated to accept modern ways of improving our lives and culture as a people, as a nation.
Indeed, we need to develop a pro-active attitude toward science as a way of life and culture. We need to be truly scientific in our attitude and views in order to be more productive and prolific. We have to be open minded and aware of the impact of science in our modern world in our desire to be at par with other nations. We have to reassess our cultural preferences, practices and beliefs and be prepared to institute innovations in our own cultural systems .
We can achieve greater scientific awareness if we religiously inculcate the importance of modern science in our early educational system with more emphasis on critical thinking , practical science and scientific experimentation especially among the youths of today. Instead of focusing so much on politics, government we must encourage our young people to be more science oriented and encouraged them to be involved in scientific researches and undertakings, not only to earn enough knowledge but to excel in the field of related science. Our government must give more support to scientific studies that will open new door of opportunities for the people specially those that can trigger economic development and productive endeavor that are environmental friendly and harnessing the lives of humanity. It is therefore imperative for us to adopt new concepts of sustaining life, of initiating change and empowering our people to be more aware of the impact of diverse science to our growth and movement as one people, as one nation.
