I'm curious to know what some of the people on here think about atheism, such as how they feel towards it as well as people who are themselves atheist. My experience as an atheist has been harsh, with most people being "offended" by my admittance of my beliefs, to the point that anymore I'm actually afraid to tell people the truth. It seems like many religious people don't even care if you don't believe in their religion, as long as you believe in SOMETHING. In addition, a lot of people seem to have misconceptions about atheism, like that all adherents are gloomy and miserable and only want to rebel against God, and that they don't actually believe in it. Others say, "So you don't believe in anything?", and that gets me every time. I don't really understand why people react so negatively towards it, but they do.
How do you all feel about it?
