June made me.

This is a place where all my recent art will go from now on. The rest sucks. Don't look at it.

Since it's been a terribly long time since I've posted on YWS, I have a lot of art to show. So I'll be posting three at a time until I get caught up with myself. I've been experimenting with different styles lately, so they're all over the place. But enough words! Now for the pictures!

"She Had the World" It was inspired by a Panic at the Disco song.

Image
"The Quiet Rebellion" She's a bit lopsided, but whatever. She's more cartoony than my normal style, as well.

This is a self portrait of me on a good day--when my hair is done and whatnot. The drawing was light to begin with, but the scanner managed to make it even more invisible. I don't do self portraits often because I always make myself either too pretty or too ugly and never just right. But I've been studying Frida Kahlo's art a lot lately and decided it was high time I did another self-portrait. My skills in portrait art has seemed to have decreased lately, since I decided to move away from it and do other types of art. The hair looks very unrealistic. But oh well.

Comments are incredibly appreciated. I need a lot of help if I have any hopes of getting any better.

Love you all!
-Holly

P.S. June, be happy. It's because I love you too that I do this for you. <3

I envy you. I wish I could draw that well, you're amazing!

I espsically love the first one, which Panic at the disco song was it?

Can't wait to see your other drawings, they are really amazing! Your colors in the first one were great, and the second one also. For the third I think your hair looks great, I can see a hair style like that!

Keep up the fantastic work! :D

I clicked on this because I'm your #1 art fan. I am. Seriously. Ask your mom. Anyway, I saw the last picture first, and when I did, I said to myself, "WHOA. That looks JUST like Holly!" And then I read the caption and I'm like, "Wow. I wish I could draw myself."

So. It's a really great portrait, Holly. I agree with you, though. The hair isn't the best, and I've seen you do some really breathtaking hair. On your next self portrait, I expect that. ;) I'm a huge fan of the first one. It's a really... abstract picture, and it makes me happy to see you use that song. I, actually, haven't heard it, but I love Panic! at the Disco, so whatever song you use from them is awesome. :)

The second one is really good, but not my favorite. I found the bright red... thing? -- What is that? Her undershirt? -- a little distracting. I feel that it would be just as good if it were left out, or another shade. But whatever floats your boat. I'll continue looking at this thread. I love, love, love your art, Holly. It's quite incredible. Have you entered any contests with these? This isn't just talent, kid. It's mad skillz.

Hi Holly!

Woah! Your skills are just awesome! I lurrrve these pics.

Numero uno: I adore this. I love the concept as well as colors. The only thing I can think of is that the outlining of the hand and the world should be of same intensity. That wouldn't distract the person from looking at both of it together.

#2: This is the least favorite of mine. The red between her coat is distracting. And yeah, she does look lopsided.

#3: Wow! Self portrait? Awesome! Well, nitpicking this:
I think the shoulders should be slightly broadened w.r.t. the face.
I love the way your hair starts, but yeah as you said, it does look fake. I love the layering, but try to add a little wavy-ness and less rounded-ness. (I hope you get what I'm trying to say :) )
The right pupil needs to be moved slightly toward the left. Otherwise, she seems a bit cross-eyed.

I hope this helped!
Awesome work again, and keep drawing!

Good day, Holianthus! About time you revealed these. :)

I love the first; I have no critism for it, but I really think that this excellently displays your artisitic flair. Lower base part of the index finger is a touch long.

The second is one of my favorite pieces by you. The glasses are a touch off; the right side looks a little off-kelter, but that could easily be remedied. It's rather cute and looks a bit free spirited. It's awesome.

The last is good! The hair is a bit poofy, but otherwise it does resemble you. Left side of the mouth is a little elongated. I'd like to see you graduate this from a sketch to a finished drawing. :D

About time you posted. :P I loved them all. :D Thanks for posting!
