Pictures from Summer Past

Here's a few pictures I took over the summer. Let me know what you think of them

Hi there! Pretty pictures.

1) This is okay. I like that the grass is the focus here, rather than the building. I'd move the building either to the left or right, so it fits with the rule of thirds (there's a wikipedia page on it somewhere; I'm too lazy to dig it up). And! There's too much of that washed-out colorless sky, and I don't like the way it sort of blends into the whiteness of the building. So... This picture is good, but I think you can do better.

2) Interesting! I've never seen this sort of effect before, and that makes me think it was editted? But I like it. The fuzziness (for lack of a better word) of the buildings reminds me of that haze you sometimes get on a really hot day. It's nice to see a photograph capture that. But there's that washed out sky again!

3) Ooh. Normally I'm not a fan of sky pictures, as they can look featureless and, well, washed-out. But I actually like the way the clouds and the light look here. Just move the ground up and the... telephone wires? Yeah, move those down a tiny bit on the left and a bit up on the right. Rule of thirds and all that. As it is, since there's so little of the ground, it makes it look like that wasn't supposed to be there.

The first picture is actually my favorite. I took a photography class and I think that the "thirds-rule" is usually a good guidline, but it's like writing- some of the best stuff comes from breaking the rules right? Anyway, I'm not a photography expert, all I really know is what I like and what I don't like, and I like this one.

The second picture is weird, but in a good way. It's not a bad thing if you edited it but just wondering, did you? Either way it's cool.

I liked your first two pictures the best, but I also like the last one... it's good but not as creative as the others. Your other topics (objects, or whatever I'm supposed to call them) were unconventional, while a sky scene is a bit less unique. I still like it though.

Haha I wondered if the question of editing would come up on the second one.
To answer your questions, no, it is not edited.
That is the reflection off ''The Bean''. I live in Chicago.

And to the statement that said the sky looks washed out, it was overcast that day.

wow the first picture instantly made me think of an electric piano (the windows look like keys ^_^) Nice photos

The first one is impressive. Eliza raises a valid point, but you're allowed to break rules in photography. I like the centered building and such; rather cool that way. The part that bothers me about this is the sky. I really can't stand bleached out skies, they ruin all the good pictures and...argh. Haha.

The next is good. Not impressive or anything; the saturation is high, and I would tone that down a bit, because the warpedness of the reflection is already enough for our eyes to trip over.

Aaand, the last, I don't like. Nice stormy clouds and such, but it is oversaturated and the powerlines kind of get in the way. It's nice; not phenomenal or anything, but it's cool.

Keep up the nice work; keep posting your photos, dear. I enjoy them.
