Hello, brother mine. In order to prove my non-belief in favoritism, we encourage, nay, require the use of correct capitalization and punctuation here at YWS. See to your sadly un-capitalized and punctuationless sentences, lest you bring shame upon our house.
You know what NaNo is... You're participating, aren't you?
Ah, being a wise guy, eh?
I could tell you all about YWS, but I want you to meet new people here, so I'll let them do it. Be nice and don't bite.
I'm Conrad Rice, one of the staff here. If at anytime you have a question, just ask one of the people with a colored name and they will be happy to answer your query. We want to make sure that everyone has a fun time here on YWS.
Hey there Peter! So you're GryphonFledgling's little brother? That's cool Welcome to YWS! My name is JustDance (don't ask, weird Lady Gaga phase >.<) but you can call me JD. Let's go through the rules first, cause' I'm not sure if you know them yet.
☺ Before posting any work of yours to be reviewed by the members of YWS we would like you to do please review at least 3 pieces of work for every work you submit. Something we like to call the 3:1 ratio. Basically before posting your own work to be reviewed you have to review 3 other pieces of works. Things such as what you liked, what the author could have done better, any confusions, nit picks, etc. Very easy and quick!
☺ YWS is a writing site, so we want our members to use proper grammar, spelling, punctuations, and caps. SEE HOW IT SEEMS AS IF I AM ANGRY AT YOU IF I WRITE IN ALL CAPS??!?!?!?! Try not to use caps unless necessary. Also we have a very nice chat room for all the members to use. Despite it being a chat room however we prefer members to not use chat speak. Chat speak: Cht spk is lyke tis no 1 lykes it n it iz very annoying!
☺ Rate your work just like movies. If it has any mature scences, excessive violence or language then it'll need to be rated. Members of YWS are of different age groups and persona so they might not like something.
☺ Have fun!
Alright, now for the fun stuff Questions!
What kind of writing do you usually do?: Favorite genere of books?: Favorite author?: What do you want to be when you grow up?: Favorite color?:
Haha, just a bunch of random questions to get to know ya better. See you around, and if you have any questions or just want to talk hit me up by a simple PM -JD
@JustDance=] : I love writing fantasy novels. Mystery and Fantasy... A hard choice. Cornelia Funke would have to be my choice. I am going to be a marine. Green all the way.
I remembered talking to you in Chat. Just thought I'd stop by and welcome you properly! Like Conrad said, don't be afraid to ask anybody with a coloured name for help. Also, here is a thread on some common FAQs about YWS.
Fantasy is completely for the win. I write a lot of fantasy, usually with some mystery in there as well (best of both worlds. ) What's your favourite part of fantasy? Mine's world creation.
Hope to see you around YWS!
