Ah, I've Never Been Good at These.

Well hello I guess.
My name is Jake, I'm eighteen years old and I'm from Oxfordshire England.
I came out of the closet about four years ago, though fortunately for me I'm not the overly effeminate and flamboyant sort.
I have many hobbies and Intrests mostly involving Writing and making music.
I guess if there's anything else you want to know, just ask, I'm happy to answer any questions.
Anyway, glad to be here and I'll start contributing as soon as I get some free time.

Welcome to YWS, I hope you enjoy it here as much as the rest of us!
Let me review some quick rules for you...

1.] We have this 4:1 ratio thing, for every one of your stories/poetry/whatever you post you must review/critique four other pieces. I think the ratio changes to 5:1 in December...

2.] NO CAPS PLEASE!

3.] We are all writers so try not to type like you're texting.

4.] When you do post something, rate your work. Either 16+ or 18+ or E for everyone. Some of us dislike reading certain things, you know? haha

5.] Be nice, keep the swearing in your stories and have fun!

Now, we move on to the worst part. The questions, this is going to get tiring so be prepared...
What's your favorite movie? Art piece? Genre? Author? Color? Book? What do you do on your spare time? If you had to live the rest of your life eating just one type of food, what would that be? I'd eat chocolate...just saying.

Do you play any instruments or write your own music? I play the trombone and sort of the piano If you have some lyrics you'd like to share we have a board for that so don't hesitate to post them
Have you seen the Groups yet? There are about a million so your bound to find some that you like. Everyone is really nice and friendly here so don't be afraid to join any of them.

Since the person above me kindly shared the rules I'll just skip to my favorite part.
The really, really hard questions.
If you could meet one author and ask them anything you wanted for an hour, who would you meet? If you could spend the day with one band/singer, who would you hang out with? If you were a piece of furniture, what kind would you be and why? What's your favorite topping on pizza? If you could have any superpower, what would you choose and why?

Alright, first let's get the important rules of YWS down.

☺ Before posting any work of yours to be reviewed by the amazing members of YWS we would like you to do please review at least 3 pieces of work for every work you submit. Something we like to call the 3:1 ratio Quite simple really. Say you have a very nice poem or fanfic you have been dying to have someone critique. Simply review 3 other pieces of works before posting your own. Things such as what you liked, what the author could have done better, any confusions, nit picks, etc. Very easy and quick!

☺ YWS is a writing site, so we want our members to use proper grammar, spelling, punctuations, and caps. SEE HOW IT SEEMS AS IF I AM ANGRY AT YOU IF I WRITE IN ALL CAPS??!?!?!?! Try not to use caps unless necessary. Also we have a very nice chat room for all the members to use. Despite it being a chat room however we prefer members to not use chat speak. Say the word "for" instead of "4". Good habits!

☺ Rate your work just like movies. If it has any mature scences, excessive violence or language then it'll need to be rated. Members of YWS are of different age groups and persona so they might not like something.


☺ Now for the most important..strictest rule, you must obey at all times.

So you're from England? That's awesome, I'm very jealous.
I had fish and chips when I went there over the summer. Amazing is one word to sum that up. If I lived there I would make myself sick by eating that for lunch every single day, haha.
So you enjoy music? That's cool, I love music too! It's a great way to express yourself. If you write lyrics I would love to see them, we have a lyrics section for young song writers like you maybe.
What kind of writing do you usually do? I'm more of a realistic fiction, and romance person. Poetry is nice too.
Who's your favorite author? I honestly don't have fun. There are just too many good ones out there.
