Tree in a Park

Hi. Good job! I like it...

OK, I think you could've shown a little more of the actual tree, and maybe some of the background. But that might mess up the quality of the picture...

Anyway, I really liked the angle at which you shot the picture. It's pretty interesting, and I don't think I've ever seen a picture of anything taken at that angle! And I think it was cool how you chose a green-leafed tree even though it's fall right now.

I noticed no one had done a review, so here you go! I hope you keep posting your work here...

Nice, I like it. You should have taken in front different angles, the inside of it, (which is shown,) full view of it from ground level, and maybe another one.

This is cool though and pretty clear from what I can tell. Was this taken today or some other day? It's awfully green for Autumn...

Hey Daydreamer!

Last year, just for fun, I wanted to brief through photography lessons, because the oppurtunity to attend some for free arose. In the first lecture, the proctor spoke about different things, such as cliches about photography, dos and don'ts, common misconceptions, blah, blah on and on.

Of the dos and don'ts he mentioned, he said, don't take photos of trees, unless you can capture them effectively. "Tree leaves are a million of tiny distractions," he said, meaning that there is so much detail, so many of them, that the camera doesn't know what to do and either over processes or underprocesses them. "The trunks are boring, it takes a heck of a good photographer to capture a tree trunk, let a lone a whole tree and make it interesting."

With that said, this photo doesn't totally strike me as interesting or brilliant. The tree's a bit under exposed, so the color of the tree trunk looks black to me. It may be, haha, but I don't know. I'm not entirely fond of the focus; I can't find a focal point, and that's a bit opposite of the point of artistic photography. Remember that finding a focus is the most important thing in taking photos, dear.

It's OK, I suppose. If I was you parent I'd probably say 'Good job honey', or something like that. But overall it's just pretty dull. I mean, we've all seen trees before. And this picture isn't showing anything we haven't already seen, right? I've also seen more interesting trees. I'll say this. Unless you are expressing something interesting in any form of art, don't make it. This picture doesn't say or express anything. Just, 'hey, look at this tree!' I must say, you can probably do better.

I agree with June; there isn't really a focal point in a tree. It's just one giant image.

I love the color though; it reminds me of a crisp, green apple.

This actually is the inside of a bush, I should have put that instead of calling it a tree. So as you can imagine my angles were limited. I took this merely because of the color, I loved the contrast between the dark branches and the light leaves.

And I took this just before the leaves started to turn so that's why it looks pretty green and summery still.

I really like this picture. ^_^ Although it may not have a focal point, I think that the way you captured the colors of the leaves and the trunk is quite spectacular. Honestly, when I first saw it, I thought, "Hey, the trunk and branches make it look kind of like one of those little stick bug things!" But that's just a random thought... XD Anyway, I do like this. Keep up the good work!

First off, I like the angle. It shows goes well with the trees somehow.

Now, I see that a lot of people think you did just a okay job with this picture. I think we can all agree that you need a focal point, which I have difficulty finding a place where you can do that. I think that you could have gone a little closer to the tree trunk, or the inside of the bush, and really have that focus point at the trunk. That way, we could see the details in that spot, but also, the trunk elevating towards the branches and the leave without them taking too much space. So really, the rest of the tree would just be blotches of color. We would see them, and know what it was, but not the details in them. Anyways, it's just an idea.

Last but not the least, I love the colors in that picture. It's vibrant, and like you said, there's a really nice contrast between the leaves and the branches. It really looks nice.

This is a good picture, but it's a cliche. The classic take a picture of a tree from below is getting pretty old. Although you did do a good job of capturing the colors and texture of the leafs and tree. This is an overall good picture, but could you take it of something less original?

So, I'm probably one of the only people in the world to notice this but the branches, in my eyes, kind of look like nerves. The whole trunk of the tree is the spinal column and the branches are the nerve fibers branching off. I'm also the kind of person that digs deeper in a picture. To me, the picture says that we are all connected. Lame, I know and it's like the song from Pochantas ("Colors of the Wind") but that is what it shouts to me. Overall, I love the brightness of the leaves and the clarity of the picture. Don't stop! It's amazing.

I'm going to plunge straight to the point here, so basically you saw a tree and took a picture of it. That is how to describe this picture at it's most basic point however I think this picture is amazing. The colour of the leaves are a perfect contrast to the brown of the trunk. I like how it's so simple yet creative, the tree is most definately not creative there are millions of trees out there just by looking out my window I can see a whole ginormous forest of trees, but that isn't how photographers are supposed to look at things they are supposed to look at something and see the beauty of it when no one else can. You have done thid to a great standard. So ok the angles not amazing but you captured something beautiful, the lighting is good and the way you looked up at the tree and thought that looked best is also smart thinking. Anyway I think of said enough. It looks good. Well done for looking beyond the fact that it's just a tree and doing something creative.
