Hi, my name is Maddison (everyone calls me Maddy) and i'm extremely interested in becoming a published author. I'm only 14; and all my friends call me a 'nerd' because i write in my free time, but it's just what i like to do. I'm presently working on a book; need help with a name, which involves a made up species that is very identical to a vampire. I kind of have a problem with making my stories pretty bloody and gorey, so most of my work will probably be...15+? I'm new here and i have no idea how this site works...he he he...
You've probably already read 'em, but I'll post 'em anyway. The Rules:
1) The 3:1 ratio. If you can, we'd like you to do 3 reviews for every piece of writing or photography that you post on here. You might *hear* that it's a different ratio, but it isn't.
2) Plz no cht spk OR CAPS LOCK. This includes grammar, capitilization, apostrophes and overuse of punctuation (!!!!!!). This also includes the chat room. Grudgingly excepted chatspeak is: lol and brb. No more than that, please.
3) Rate your work. When you sumbit a new piece then you can choose to rate it: E (everyone), 12+, 16+ or 18+. Members like to know what they're going to read so please think carefully about your rating, because some users will get mad if a work is not rated appropriately.
4) Be nice. So no swearing outside of your stories and no flaming other members. No one likes a fight, we try to keep things happy.

Anyway, Mo's gone through the rules for you so that's sorted. D'you want me to show you the YWS rainbow? You do? Awesome.
Blue: Greeters! *points to name*. Basically, Greeters hang round the welcome forums and make sure that new members know what to do! Purple: Instuctors! They're the best reviewers that YWS can throw at you! (Don't worry, not literally.) Light green: Junior Mods. They make sure that everything in cetain forums is working correctly. So if the posts are in the right place or if people have been reviewing really old literary pieces. Dark Green: Moderators. They basically do what JMs do, but over the whole site. Orange: Distinguished members. They are members who have retired from being Mods. Red: Administrators. They handle the site. Nate is the one who set up YWS in 2004!
Ok, so that was the rainbow! Pretty awesome, huh?
Anyway, my tip for you would be to take a look at the Buddy System!If you PM anyone oon that thread then they will be your mentor for your first month on YWS. It's not compulsory, but some people find it really useful!
