You can either call me by my username, which many have done so for the past 6 years of me being an online type of guy.

I'm born and raised Filipino.

I am single. NGSB. 'Nuff said .-.

I'm about to finish college at UST under the program BS Food Technology. What is food technology? if chefs cook food, food technologists MAKE food.

I've been into this writing for as long as Ican remember. I've been writing since i was a kid and just wanted it as a hobby or a way to be romantic (such were the cheesy childhood memories of falling in love).

I just realized that i had a passion for writing when i found myself constantly holding a pen and paper and just writing essays, stories, poems, and random proses. I finally realized this when I was already in my first year of college.

I am an internet fan. By fan I mean I am most certainly online everyday for at least 3-4 hours, if vacations or holidays occur, it would be upto 8 at most. I try not to spend 1/3 of my day in front of a computer though.

Because of this, I am well versed in the ways of the interwebs. In a nutshell, if it has something to do with the internet, I probably know about it :D

Aside from writing, I'm also into the "way of the japanese" i.e. music, drama, movies, and a little bit of anime and manga. I also love japanese food, specially sushi. I also love to watch foreign tv shows such as the CSIs, HOUSE M.D., The Simpsons, The IT Crowd, AOTS, NGC, Discovery Channel (Mythbusters), The Soup and other shows that are foreign in nature, to my countrymen at least.

I also love international artists such as Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, The Killers, Eminem, Eyes Set To Kill, Linkin Park, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Coldplay, and other artists similar to them.

I also am a self-proclaimed quasi bookworm. Some of my favorite books hail from the following authors:

Victor Hugo, Dante, Virgil, Anna Sewell, Dan Brown, H.G. Wells, Charles Dickens, Louisa May Alcott, Antoine de Saint Exupéry, Haruki Murakami, Mark Twain, Umberto Eco, Audrey Niffenegger, Charles Dickens, Nicholas Sparks, Paulo Coelho, Klitorika, and Bob Ong.

I am also a self-proclaimed computer specialist, software programmer, PC security expert. I can pretty much give a bit of professional advice on the how-to's of computer-ing. I am also well versed with gadgetry and techie stuff xD

That's all for my humble introduction. Any questions will be entertained as long as they are not too personal :)

Hello there! What a long post, I must say! (This should probably be in the "About The Authors Forum ... ;))
Welcome aboard our writers'space-ship!
I'm Shauni and it's a pleasure meeting you.
Before anything else, let me just give you our main rules - keep these always in your mind.

º Don't use caps and/or chat speak.
º Please keep the ratio asked for the month. 2:1, 3:1, 4:1 and so on.
ºRate your works accordly. If they have any f-word and/or sxual content, rate them R and so on.

They're pretty easy to handle, right?

I just realized that i had a passion for writing when i found myself constantly holding a pen and paper and just writing essays, stories, poems, and random proses. I finally realized this when I was already in my first year of college.

I'm desperately waiting for this to happen. I write almost because I want have something written for me. It's quite terrible.

Japan! My ultimate travel destiny! I love the culture, the food, the manga. And, the Myth busters do rock (so as House!)

I also love international artists such as Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, The Killers, Eminem, Eyes Set To Kill, Linkin Park, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Coldplay, and other artists similar to them.

I personally don't enjoy Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato. I don't like their pop - they need some more experience.
Linkin Park! My favourite band ever. Their music is poetry to my ears.

Victor Hugo, Dante, Virgil, Anna Sewell, Dan Brown, H.G. Wells, Charles Dickens, Louisa May Alcott, Antoine de Saint Exupéry, Haruki Murakami, Mark Twain, Umberto Eco, Audrey Niffenegger, Charles Dickens, Nicholas Sparks, Paulo Coelho, Klitorika, and Bob Ong.

I've read some Paulo Coelho's book and I love that sensation of the humanity and the message he always outs in his books. He also speaks portuguese. :D

I think you said it all. It's a pleasure welcoming you and hope to see you around, posting!:D

Best wishes

Shauni

Hi. Just wanted to review the rules.

1) The 3:1 ratio. If you can, we'd like you to do 3 reviews for every piece of writing or photography that you post on here. You might *hear* that it's a different ratio, but it isn't.

2) Plz no cht spk OR CAPS LOCK. This includes grammar, capitilization, apostrophes and overuse of punctuation (!!!!!!). This also includes the chat room. Grudgingly excepted chatspeak is: lol and brb. No more than that, please.

3) Rate your work. When you sumbit a new piece then you can choose to rate it: E (everyone), 12+, 16+ or 18+. Members like to know what they're going to read so please think carefully about your rating, because some users will get mad if a work is not rated appropriately.

4) Be nice. So no swearing outside of your stories and no flaming other members. No one likes a fight, we try to keep things happy.

5) Have fun. It's not hard to do--It's YWS!

Twenty Questions: (Not really twenty...)

Rain or sun? What do you usually write, genre wise? Pen, pencil or computer? Doing NaNoWriMo this year (I'm not!)? Any favourite shows? Do you have a reason to write that propels you more than anything else? At the time, what's your favorite book? Cats or dogs? Favourite colour?

Ok, so I'm pretty sure I covered it all.

I hope you have a wonderful time on the site and if you need anything, you can just PM me.

I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong board. It's just that I'm so used to posting everything about me in an intro thread that I didn't think twice when I saw the word "welcome" in the board name.

1. I prefer to be dry in terms of weather, but I must say I sleep better when it's raining.

2. Genre: Tragedies. A little bit of romance, a little bit of darkness and emptiness. I'm mostly made up of dark matter with a black hole as a heart haha

3. Computer. But I do tend to write a little using a pen then just continue everything else using the computer. I also save them on my email or have it as a draft in my blog sites. Easier access just in case I have the urge to continue a piece.

4. I don't know exactly. I'm writing a novel write now but it's not because of NaNoWriMo. It's a "I just felt like it" novel.

5. I think I covered some of the genres of shows. To add, I'm fond of late 90's comedy shows like "FRIENDS".

6. I want my feelings to be concretize as something everyone can see and understand. Some go for music, some go for art. I just lack the skills of musicians and artists so I went for writing.

7. At the time? It would have to be The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. All time favorite will always be Victor Hugo's Les Miserables.

8. Dogs ultimately.

9. I used to love blue, but I find myself often inspired by the darkness of one's heart rather than it's calm. So, though not actually a colour, black will be my choice.

Thanks for explaining the ratios. I've already reviewed about 2-3 before I posted. I'll make sure to keep that in mind.

I think I found the perfect forum to have my works bashed :D

I got a question though: who decides if the post is a review or not? I see that the number of posts is not always equal to number of reviews. I'm just wondering.

Welcome to YWS!

To answer your question:

Well, any post is technically a review if it's posted in the literary forums. However, not all of the literary forums are just for actual pieces of writing (for example, there are RPGs in literary misc.) and so the only things counted as reviews are replies to a piece of work (be it poetry, art, non-fiction or prose).
In addition, a review has to be at least 3 lines long before it's counted in your review ratio. This is because one line reviews that basically say "ohmygosh, that was so amazing! Keep it up :D " are not really critiques.

And of course, the number of posts will never be equal to the number of reviews. YWS is also a lovely community so we have the welcome forum, randomness, RPGs, The Lounge and numerous group in which YWS members can post and procrastinate. :)

Does that help? I hope so, if you have any more questions then feel free to PM me :D

Oh! I just saw that your favourite book is the Time Travellers Wife. I adore that book! Just the way that it's written as such a beautiful love story makes me smile (and cry.) But seriously, it's the only book I've even seen my Dad get emotional about, so surely it must be pretty good. :D
For me, the film totally ruined it. The way that Claire was portrayed didn't really work with the image I had of her. And suddenly their amazing love story was transformed into something that was pretty much like a normal married couple. Henry was a little wet as well.

And one more thing that we have in common (there are a lot more but I need to go in a sec!) FRIENDS. Who's your favourite character?
(You might notice I'm not saying much about Friends because if I do then it will be a long post!)

Oh, ok, one more :D
Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, The Killers, Eminem, Eyes Set To Kill, Linkin Park, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Coldplay

The Killers, Coldplay and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus are three of my favourite bands.

Anyway, you have found the perfect place to get your work bashed critiqued well.

If you have any questions or just want to talk, feel free to PM me or just reply on here!

*hugs*
