Charlotte - HM Sailor

She laughed at Darsidian's quick remark. It was easy to expect given his profession and undeniable love of gold.

"Of course it will pay well, my financier will be sure of that," Charlotte said. Otherwise I'll hunt him down and pry the gold from his cold dead hands. "It is a lengthy quest, after all."

Darsidian smiled at the thought of gold. Charlotte was sure he would be an easy one to convince, if he wasn't already. The hunters seemed less enthused.

"What sort of quest?" the male hunter asked.

"One that will certainly bring you fame and glory, hunter," she said, hoping he was one intrigued by such matters. "Has to do with that force moving in from the north, but I will say no more. The quest requires travel across this country, obtaining an item from each city."

Charlotte hoped she had given off the air that she knew what the outcome of this would be. She wished the old witch doctor had given her more to go on. Charlotte knew more than most that when convincing needs done it is best to appear as if you hold all the knowledge.

*I am all for the quest!*

Mikera - COF Hunter

"Has to do with that force moving in from the north, but I will say no more. The quest requires travel across this country, obtaining an item from each city."

Mikera straightened slightly. "The Blackness?" she said sharply. The sailor looked at her briefly and gave Mikera a quick nod.

"Yes."

Mikera licked her lower lip in a moment's hesitation. She extended her hand to the sailor. "I haven't introduced myself. I am Mikera."

The sailor shook her hand briskly. "I take this as a sign that you plan to join us?"

Mikera nodded. "That force will eventually reach the mainland. When it does, Nume will be one of the first cities affected. They are my people. It is only right for me to give assistance."

Darsidian - Thief

So, there they were, all thinking it was gold and only gold he was after. Like some dragon, hoarding as much as he could get his filthy hands on. It was knowledge he prized, however. Gold was just the easiest way to come by it. He smiled to himself, it would be good if they didn't know what he was looking into. That kind of power wouldn't help anyone feel secure - especially this hunter still holding him in the air.

"Well then, I suppose I'd best introduce myself." Darsidian said, keeping his knife behind his back for the time being. "The Captain already knows me from a job or two, but I've never set eyes on either of you before." He smiled, "I am Darsidian, accomplished in many things and, in all likelihood, a fine addition to this little adventure."

The male hunter grunted, rolling his eyes, "Right. Because you can handle yourself so well."

Darsidian's smile only grew, "Well, I could have killed you a few times over by now." He held up the knife, flourishing it a little. "But our dear captain wouldn't like that, now would she? So could you please just let me down?"

Tanahú - COF (Does anyone still remember what COF means?) Hunter

The Sailor targeted honor and glory when speaking to me, and gold when speaking to the thief, but Mikera took the quest for Nume; her homeland. It almost made me ashamed that I was doing it for the pay when I accepted.
"I'll go with you," I said, adding, "Someone needs to watched the thief, anyway."
"So could you please just let me down?" the thief said, ignoring my words.
I threw him down and brushed off my suit. (Billy, this's the second time I've dropped you, read back a bit)
"But explain to me, Sailor," I said, putting my gun back into its shoulder-holster. "What are these objects we seek to attain? And how can they turn back the tide of the Blackness? It is terrible, and broods like a monster on the horizon; I cannot imagine any power strong enough to destroy it."
"But did I ever say I would destroy it, noble Hunter?" the sailor asked, I could've sworn I heard her mutter "noble, yet narrow-minded" under her breath, but I did not press it any further.
Thinking over this, I realised that we would need supplies and horses.
"We will need food and other things, Sailor," I said. "I would offer to pay, except that this gentleman here holds my interests in a somewhat trifling matter."

*Lauren, you wanna go over the details or skip to the trip? And also, what city's first? PM me if you have an itinerary, if not, we'll make it up as we go*

Hah, pretty much all I got was the quest. Maybe we should make a DT and all discuss it to some length? We should try to rally the other characters not in the alley to join so they aren't randomly left out.

Charlotte - HM Sailor

"Right, very well," Charlotte agreed with the hunter - who had yet to introduce himself, the rude young man he was - they would need supplies. "Anyways, since introductions seem so popular my name is Charlotte. You needn't know more and you will think smartly and only refer to me as Captain Charlie, or just Charlie. Or perhaps Captain if it suits you."

She watched the young hunter expectantly. She surely wouldn't be having any length of trip with a man who wouldn't even be so kind as to share his name with her. (Excuse me if you've already introduced yourself to her, I don't remember it). "Tanahú," he said with a nod.

"Well then, horses and supplies," she pondered over this for a moment. "Darsidian would you know of someplace we might find ourselves what we need for a discounted price?"

I agree, only...*looks around, slightly embarrassed, and then whispers* how does one go about making a DT for a storybook?

Tanahú - COF Hunter

Captain? This wasn't what I had expected.
Twenty centuries of a long line of chief hunters had installed a deep sense of pride in my heart; none of my family members had ever succumbed to another's rule.
"I am Tanahú, Charlie," I was certainly not going to call her captain. Änd it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance."
"Likewise, I'm sure," she replied. "Now let's go buy supplies, I know a man who can take care of our food, and we might even sails part of the way."
There was a instantaneous knot in my stomach when she spoke of the ocean, but I did my best to keep it down. I had come to Siolfor in search of a quest, and had promised my grandfather to take the first honest one I could find.

Tanahú - COF Hunter

*I'm going ahead in the story, since it's starting to die*

Two days I thought, holding my reeling mind again. Two days on this rolling, pitching, leaky tub of a ship.
Granted, Charlie had assured us that the [insert name of Charlie's ship] was as 'tight as a barrel and dry as a cave', but after spending the nights with water literally dripping down my neck, I wasn't sure.
I rolled out of my bunk with the motion of the ship, staggering down the hall in a half-stupor. I passed the others in their hammocks or bunks (the thief was curled in a corner, clutching his dagger tightly) but couldn't fidn Charlie. FInally, on reaching the piloting bridge, I found her.
Wrapped in a thick seacoat and grasping a mug of coffee with one hand, our captain held the steering wheel with the other, standing firm and strong in the rolling storm. It was strande how she could keep her balance, and I wondered -briefly- if she used some sort of spell to keep her boots cemented in place.
"A little queasy, land-lubber?" she teased, not bothering to turn to me.
"How can you steer if you can see through the storm?" I groaned out, slumping against the wall.
"Storm?" Charlie asked, giving me a truly puzzled look. "This isn't even a stiff breeze: you haven't seen nothing yet." she tapped a compass with grime covering the glass and grinned broadly. "I just need to keep on course and watch out for cliff-beacons," she explained. "The rest is left to 'ole [insert name of Charlie's ship]."

*that's your que, Lauren*
