Hey guys, this is a pic I took of my younger sister and edited. I think it turned out pretty well. :)

Please note that her name isn't actually Maria. I just used that name because I'm considering this as a bookcover, and the mc in the book's name is Maria. ;)

I must give some credit to my sister for agreeing to model for me. *applauds her*

She's quite the little model isn't she?

I like it but it's all the same black color, maybe edit it as in shadowing; because where the hands appear it's a bit odd looking. But it's cool, I like it - other than that it'd be a good book cover!

Crazy cool my dear crocodile.

A shredding as requested:

Now look below to understand what I'm talking about.

Blue: The cut there is not as appealing as it could be. Since the hands are the lightest thing on the page, the black is harsh. Soften it slightly and make the cut with the black a little further down the arm.

Orange: The cloak curls in at the end, I think it would look nicer if it led out gently. Sort of like a really long cloak that drags on the ground.

Red: There is a weird point there. Fix that.

Green: Okay, love love loveeee the face. The ways the shadow hits it is great. Just great. There is only one tiny technical issue. It's really really really dark and I doubt it would come out too well during the printing process. I suggest lightening it just a tad. Really just a tad.

The background is nice, a little flat and light but nice. If you use it as a book cover I would make the title appear to be craved into the wood. Which would be awesome.

Great job my lovely. You're little sister is a great model too :P

Agreed,
The hands need to be darkened but other than that this is great.
I think it'd make an excellent book cover!

Perfect :D

Use it as a book cover, definitely.

I'll help you think of the title later.

This is very good! How old is she? She seems to be young, but very serious. Kind of like she is more mature in her head than it seems. I really like the black and white, but it looks a little flat.. Maybe add some contrasting or shadowing? That might add more depth. Very good, and very unique :)

Whoa, I never reviewed this? Hey P-Crocky, June here. :)

Like I said on Aim, I really like this. You have a creative eye and it shows here. For some reason, the grey and white of this is speaking monotonous at me, and I don't know why, because I really love the conceptual idea of this not being in color. Perhaps the background needs to be blurred a bit so that we're not distracted into looking at that? I'm not sure, haha. But at any rate, your sister's a good model. ;) Keep up the great work.

Whoa!

I agree with June. You have a creative eye. I like the monotone scheme you have; it just sets the atmosphere perfectly. I do agree, however, that the background should be blurred the slightest bit so the main focus is your sister/Maria.

Also, your sister is a fantastic model! I can't seem to find any of my friends who won't burst out into nervous laughter or look incredibly fake.
Great job!

o_O Wow. This photo is great! I see that Kamas made the comment about her face, and I totally agree. The shadows are just a smidge too dark. Just a smidge though. I think you should lighten it up just enough so you can see her face, but it still has that dark, shadowy kind of feel.

I can't seem to find any of my friends who won't burst out into nervous laughter or look incredibly fake.

Ditto, Sam. xD
