Hey everybody,
My name is Angela and i can't believe i found this site. I've been trying to find somewhere like this to post my work for other people to see and i've never liked the looks of any of the other ones until now. ;)

My preferred genre is historical fiction/romance. I've dabbled in poetry but iam too ashamed of my work there to post any of it. :D I wrote it a while back and now looking back all i see is the ramblings of a confused and slightly depressed preteen.

I love writing and from what i've seen so far it looks like you guys do too.
I can't wait to meet some of you and see some of your work! -Angela

Hello there, Angela! Welcome to YWS, it's a wonderful place and I'm sure that you'll love it here.

Ok, firstly I'm gonna give you a run-down of the most important rules.

1) The 3:1 ratio. Basically, that's 3 reviews for every piece of work (be it a small poem or a full length novel). Reviews have to be at least three lines long, but it's best if they are useful; y'know, constructive crit, what you liked, what could be improved on.

2) No cht spk or CAPS LOCK. This also includes proper grammar, capitilization and using apostrophes when they're needed. This is a writing site, after all. :D

3) If something you post has sex scenes, the f-word or other adult content please put "Rated R" in the title. Some people like to know what they're getting into!

4) Be nice. So this means no swearing outside of your stories and no flaming other members. YWS is an awesome community and let's not let anything ruin that!

Now, some questions about you!

What do you like to write? What do you like to read? Whose your favourite author? Watched any good films lately? What music do you listen to? What inspires you to write the most? Are you a cat person or a dog person? D'you love or hate marmite? What is your favourite word? Do you prefer to write by hand or by typing? What can't you live without?

If you would like some help in your first month on YWS, why not check out the buddy system! If you PM (private message) someone on this thread then they'll be your mentor for the first month on YWS!

If you need any help, or have more questions, feel free to PM me. I'm always happy to help!

See you around,

~Amy

Hey Angela, welcome! It's great to have you here! Wow, historical fiction...what time period specifically do you write? I'm a major medieval freak! Anything related to knights, castles, epic battles...*sighs* yeah, that's me. See you around! :D
There are two kinds of folks who sit around thinking about how to kill people:
psychopaths and mystery writers.

I'm the kind that pays better.

Whew that was long!!
Thanks again for the welcome :)
