Prologue: The Devil Has Dimples

Sophia: Guys! Stop laughing, it was nor funny. I swear that was the biggest snake ever.
Penny: Oh, please! Sof, you’re such a crybaby. It was just a little snake, no big of a deal. Right, Alex?
Alex: Well, it was a little snake but Penny, you should be more sensitive. After all it wasn’t you the snake wanted to eat. Sof, I guess you are the most delicious prey out of the three of us.
Sophia: Alex! Please, stop you’re scaring me.
Alex: Fine. Jeesh, you can’t take a joke? Whatever.
Sophia: That’s not it don’t be mad, Alex. Are you mad? Please talk to me.
Penny: She’s not mad, Sof.
Alex: I’m not mad.
Sophia: Shoot! I have to hang up guys… we’ll talk tomorrow right?
Penny: Obviously, first day of High School. We have to stick together.
Alex: Yeah, we do…
Sophia: What are you thinking Alex?
Alex: Nothing. Life is going to get much more interesting starting tomorrow.
Sophia: Well, see you tomorrow…bye!
Penny: Bye.
Alex: Bye.
Penny: Finally! I thought she was never going to hang up. God, can she be that oblivious!
Alex: She’s always been like this. Actually, I like her just like that… it makes things easier.
Penny: Yeah, you’re right. I mean, the snake thing was hilarious. Where did you get it from anyway?
Alex: It’s mine. Wasn’t she pretty?
Penny: You think that thing is pretty?
Alex: Of course, can’t you appreciate real beauty when you see it?
Penny: Apparently not. How can you like those things? There so cold and malicious.
Alex: I like cold and malicious. There lovely.
Penny: You’re twisted.
Alex: You haven’t seen twisted yet. Tomorrow starts the real fun.
Penny: What are you planning now? Tell me.
Alex: Patience. I’ll tell you tomorrow.
Penny: Is it about Sof?
Alex: Yeah.
Penny: You’re not going to kill her… are you?
Alex: What? Are you chickening out?
Penny: No! Of course not, but if you don’t like her why are you friends with her?
Alex: That’s my business. We’ll talk tomorrow.
Penny: Ok, but if we’re going to keep with the jokes and tricks on her… it can’t be too serious, Alex, I’m not joking. I’m your friend and all, but I will not do time for you.
Alex: Yeah, yeah, we’ll talk tomorrow pussy.

Chapter 1: The Devil Has Dimples
Penny
I hate her, that hateful manipulating bitch. I swear she’s the devil… the real one in flesh. I can’t believe I was once friends with that monster. I don’t know whose worst me for ever being friends with her and enjoying making peoples life miserable or her for being not only the most cold and evil person I’ve met, but the reincarnation of the devil. What I also can’t believe is how people buy her crap of an act. People, wake up! She’s a crazy bitch! I mean, I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s killed somebody by now, after what she did to me in freshmen year.
One little mistake and boom. I’m dead; Social life down the drain. She, on the other hand, is like a freaking god here. It’s like she owns this place. Perfect boyfriend-yeah you know: popular, rich, awesome body, smart, maybe possibly evil just like her- the type every girl wants. I don’t understand anything! I mean, she got here and it was as if she conquered High School in no time, it’s like she has a freaking cult or something.
I can’t stand the way she walks in and everybody suddenly goes speechless. Freaking little devil, I have to say evil comes in concentrated little packages. Yeah, I know she’s still plotting something against Sophie. She can’t fool me with that fake dimply smile and shimmering green eyes that are only filed with malice. She can have everyone fooled but me. I know her better than anybody else and I know what she’s capable of.
“Hey, Penny!” said a familiar perky voice.
“Sophie,” I said with only as much enthusiasm as I could fake. I may hate my ex-best friend, but that didn’t make me like Sophie anymore. I mean, it’s her fault things got shitty in the first place. If she had never existed I wouldn’t be a social Pariah.
“Long time no see. How’s life treating you?” Should I claw her eyes out? Of course you can’t see me! I’m on the bottom of the food chain. I can’t believe she’s above me.
“Like four years ago; shitty. How about you still date that guy with the guitar?”
“Yeah.” Predictable, it wouldn’t surprise me if she ended up marrying him. Damn saint. “Hey, want to join me and Alex at lunch? It’s been such a long, long time since we had lunch together. I thought it’d be a good idea.” What did I say: Saint.
“Actually, I have to do stuff,” I said matter of fact. If I could avoid Alex for the rest of the year until graduation I’d be the happiest person in the world.
“Like what?”
“Like…pee. See you later.”
I wasn’t completely lying when I said I had to pee, I meant it. I did have to go to the bathroom, but at the same time I didn’t want to go. There’s something about closed places that freaks me out, especially when they’re so quiet and peaceful. Its kind of like in the horror movies, when the girl is peeing quietly in peace and then the killer suddenly appears out of nowhere with a knife ready to chop your insides and worst part is there’s no one hearing you. So, no matter how much you scream nobody will come to save you.
Just as I was getting out of the stall and heading for the sink I heard the door close. Okay, Penny, don’t panic. You’re imagining things, because you’ve seen too many scary movies this week. Nothing is wrong, Penny, just go to the door and open it. It will open. I headed to the door practically shitless scared out of my mind, I grabbed the door knob and… Fuck! This shit won’t open.
“Somebody open the door! This isn’t funny,” I yelled at the top of my lungs. Why did I ever jinx myself in the bathroom? “You little shitless brains, get me out of here!”
“I wouldn’t waste my time if I were you.” I heard the voice of my previous nightmares say in a sweet calm voice. Oh, God, she’s going to kill me! I bet she has a knife inside that red Prada bag. “It’ll open when I let you go... and don’t you know that screaming won’t help you?”
“What do you want Alex?” I said with as much hate and venom as I could throw at her.
“Oh, pretending to hate me,” she said in her fake I’m offended tone. “You know what I want… Your help.”
“You bitch! You’ve exiled me for almost four years. What in the world would ever make you think I would help you?”
“Now, now, don’t get too worked up. I think you exaggerate just a little. I wouldn’t call it exile… Wasn’t it your choice to leave our group?”
“You freaking blackmailed me, just because I wouldn’t help you fuck Sophie’s reputation!”
“So, I guess this still means no,” she said with a cold-all business-voice and her fake warm dimply smile fading away. “So be it,” Alex said and grabbed her purse from the sink striding toward me. “But let me tell you something.” As she got closer to me she grabbed me by the neck, thrusting me to the wall. I could barely breathe; she was choking the life out of me. “If you get in my way I will kill you!” She let go of my neck when I was nearly purple. That crazy bitch. She kept staring at me with amusement, like if by almost killing me she gained happiness. I’m beginning to think she really is the devil.
“If you hurt Sofia-”
“You’ll what? Tell everybody I’m a wicked monster. I doubt they’ll believe you. Besides, if you do try to say anything to her,” she said smiling viciously like a snake. “I guess mommy, daddy and the whole world will have to find out how you screwed Jeremy… what was his last name again? Oh, you know the football player. Penny, don’t you think you were a little too easy? I mean, common ninth grade.
“How did you get the video? He did it… right.”
“No. He was clueless.” She was smiling like the memory, of me begging her not to post any videos or photos of me and Jeremy having sex was just simply delighting.
She turned and left me on the floor of the bathroom practically crying. My life isn’t going to get any better, in fact its going to get much worst. I mean, if she is going after Sophie, she’s already a goner. She will never believe that Alex is evil and wants her practically deep-fried dead. Sophie thinks Alex is her best friend. God! I know this is the most stupid unselfish thing I’ll ever do. I’m going to save Sophie and unmask Alex… God, don’t let Alex kill me.

Well, since its Halloween I thought I should share this. Hope you like! Please critic!!! :)

I thought this was strangely dramatic for a high school story, and that maybe the ending was somewhat abrupt, but it works in this case because Penny's coming to such a strong conclusion. I can only assume that you're going to flesh out her and Alex's relationship more later on, so I'm interested in that.

There are a few grammatical errors I spotted, like:

Penny: Apparently not. How can you like those things? They're so cold and malicious.

Alex: I like cold and malicious. They're lovely.

and

I don’t know who's worse: me for ever being friends with her and enjoying making people's lives miserable

And also,

She can’t fool me with that fake dimply smile and shimmering green eyes that are only filed with malice.

I thought this was a little forced. You might get rid of or rework the bolded part.

Overall, though, you have an interesting work and character relationships to work with, and I'd like to see how it turns out. 8D

Cynara! I'm here to review your long-anticipated story here.

:smt023 Prologue:

Nitpicks:
Stop laughing, it was nor funny.

"Not"?

It was just a little snake, no big of a deal.

Sounds better. ^^

Well, it was a little snake but Penny

Comma after "snake".

That’s not it don’t be mad, Alex.

Would probably make more sense as...
: That's not it. Don't be mad, Alex.

Alex: Of course, can’t you appreciate real beauty when you see it?
Penny: Apparently not. How can you like those things? There so cold and malicious.
Alex: I like cold and malicious. There lovely.

This is great dialogue between the two. And eddykins pointed out the few errors here.

Tomorrow starts the real fun.

This may just be me, but it feels oddly phrased. Almost back to front. The real fun starts tomorrow. *shrugs* Just a suggestion.

it can’t be too serious, Alex, I’m not joking.

: ...too serious, Alex. I'm not joking.

we’ll talk tomorrow pussy.

Comma after "tomorrow".

Overall:
It's unusual, this script layout. Certainly eye-catching and unexpected. And it goes great with the phone call. Although, at first I though Alex was a boy. :( But that may just be me. Oh, I think the name "Alex" for a girl is really cool. ^^ I also had a female MC called Alex at some point, 'cept it was a terrible story-line so I scrapped it. Shame though, I did like the name. [/pointless yak]
Okay, the conversation between Alex and Penny was getting really creepy towards the end. I hope my friends aren't like that when I leave the conversation! You've got it so I really want to know what they're (or maybe just Alex) planning. She sounds quite like a devil. Although, with your title (Devil has Dimples) I was expecting the devilish one, who I'm presuming is Alex, to be really cute and sweet on the outside, then later on we realise there's more to her than meets the eye. Some parts you were a little too obvious with her evilness, such as:
Penny: Obviously, first day of High School. We have to stick together.
Alex: Yeah, we do…

This sounded a little pantomimish to me. *Ducks and hides* Probably because of the ellipses. Yet if you removed them then we wouldn't get that sense of insincerity. So I'm afraid I'll just have to learn to love 'em.
Hey, is there going to be a twist and it's actually Sophia who's the evil one? Or am I being too paranoid? :D Don't trust her sweet innocence!

Watch out for my next review for chapter one. Sorry, just thought I'd do the prologue first and come back to the chapter. I promise I'll do it! Soon.

Oh, and did I say how much I enjoyed this? I can't wait to find out what they did to poor Sophia!

~Emma
Your = Possession. Your shoes are so sweet!
You're = Omission. You're quite strange...

If you are confused about which to put, simply say in your mind "you are" and see if that fits the sentence. If not, you are looking for your.

At last, dear Cynara, I've read your long-anticipated story!

:elephant:

Anyway. You know I'm not really the nitpicky type (even though sometimes I wish I was  ) so I'll just, you know, say what I've said so many times before: freaking awesome as it always is. Do I need to elaborate? Didn't think so. :D

So yay! Awesome story! (But of course, you knew that, didn't you? )

(And why are my comments always so short? Hmmph.)

Post some more soon!

I like the script at the beginning. Very original. I'm not very good at constructive critism either, so I'm just going to say it was very good xD

The title really got my attention though. It's very cute (to me anyway).

Keep writing :D

Yeah! That it was what got me reading too. :))
Some might say this was to strong for high school but man are they wrong. God help the one to get in trouble with a "witch" in Japan. You will want to die and she wouldn't let you. And not only that! The reality is cruel.
I won't go into grammar and all that since there was already there.
I'll just say, keep it up! ^_^ This was awesome to read.

I liked it, very evil. Most of the typos have already been covered by the other viewers, so I will be lazy and not go over them. :) The only thing I'd consider revising is in the end paragraph where you wrote, "unselfish". You could think of turning that into selfless. But that's just from my point of view. But, I think you did a very good job with this and I hope you keep it up!

Still, gotta say that I loved it!!!!!!!
It is dramatic, but thats what it makes it difrerent from all those high school stories.
And i like whats going on in the plot!!! Really suprised me. I though the mc was gonna be Alex.

Hey there!

First of all, love the title! I thought the devil was going to be this little kid who had dimples, haha. Oo... *light bulb goes on* Idea!

Anyway! I really loved the story, the drama and the perfectness of her malice! Great job! But however my gnawing curiousity is begging to know what Alex did to Penny on the first day and what Alex wanted to do to Sophie and why Penny didn't want to do it... Lol, curiousity killed the cat I suppose.

Keep up the awesome work!

the title of your story fits a typical hight school story but the fears that penny had in her was a little exaggerated for this setting thinking of death from Alex who from the using of the words mum and dad is her sister. all the same you did a nice job but always think of your character as real only then will you be able to describe them properly and those reading will also consider them as real too.
Gift are to those who appreciate it, use yours wisely

My review is more about style and what I like about the way you write. I thought it is insteresting the way the story is carried. Watch for the commas, and other mistakes (there instead of they're) that change the meaning of the sentence. I won't give you examples because you have been corrected by others. But make corrections to your story and re-read and you will see a big difference.

When I read the first few lines of their conversation, I thought they were all talking face to face. So, the way you are writing does not give obvious details, making it insteresting as it progress. It has very good rythm, moving forward all the time. I love it.

If I were to select for reading I won't look for the title like it, but then the title makes it more interesting, isn't it? Keep going Cy!
God bless you!
