im a writer here that cant spell worth a lick but my goal is to create literiary art. I obsessed with art and music and to see what a visual representation can do for minds, i know that a reader can imagine their own interpertation of art in a book. That's why i think writing is the ultimate form of art. please read what i wrote and tell me what u think. i am posting some of my book that i am writting. Its called a boy and his dreams. its not up yet. i need points. lol. but until then please enjoy my story that centers around spies and merceneries. and again i cant spell. please bear with me on that

Hey bombstar!
Always nice to meet fellow writers. Spelling, don't worry about, we all have faults, we all make mistakes. Spell check is our favorite tool :D Don't fret about it.

As for the rules,

The site uses a 3:1 Review:post ratio. Every one piece you submit, you are expected to complete three full reviews. Reviews are 50+ words each.

The rules are posted around the forums, so just read through them. Most of them are self explanitory.

The biggest ones are:
1) N0 Cht sp3@k
2) Proper grammer (spell check is amazing, Nobody is perfect but this is a writing site after all)
3) Be nice to your fellow writers. You don't have to love everyone, but respect is earned not given.

That is about it, If you have any questions feel free to ask anyone. Everyone is nice, and were glad to have you!

-Zerkk

P.S. all the greeters :P Don't kill me I love you all<3 *cough cough*

Hey there Bombstar! Welcome to YWS!

So, Zerkkie's pretty much filled you in on the rules, but I'll just elaborate slightly.

The whole chat speak thing is a big no-no! The occasional "lol" and "brb" is ok, as long as they don't litter your posts. This means saying "you" instead of "u". And also capitilizing your Is. This also extends to not speaking in ALL CAPITALS! So you can ignore your caps lock button for the time being.

And another thing we have is rating your work. If it involves sex, excessive violence or the f-word then you need to put "Rated R" in the title. Some people like to know what they're getting into.

But that's pretty much it for the rules! Now I'll just show you the YWS rainbow!

Blue: Greeters. *points at name*. We hang around the welcome forum and give people a helping hand onto the site.
Purple: Instructors. These are the best reviewers YWS can throw at you!
Light Green: Junior Mods. They control certain forums and have a pretty big job on YWS.
Dark Green: Moderators. They're basically grown up JMs. They do the same job but look after the entire site.
Orange: Distinguished Members. They're members who've retired from being a mod.
Admin: The highest in the YWS heirachy. Nate founded YWS!

And now some questions!

What do you like to write? What do you like to read? Whose your favourite author? Watched any good films lately? What music do you listen to? What inspires you to write the most? Are you a cat person or a dog person? D'you love or hate marmite? What is your favourite word? Do you prefer to write by hand or by typing? What can't you live without?

Hope to see you around!

~Amy

Hi, I'm Rena,
First off, welcome to YWS. I'm sure that you'll be on the road to...good spelling...in no time with a little constructive criticism.
Actually, I'm not going to give you any rules or regulations on the site. I'd just like to say that I've never looked at writing like that. To me, literature was just a way to get a simple image out of my mind. Like a thought or a fantasy or a dream that came to me in the course of my wild and busy day. I started writing because someone told me I had a knack for it. But I'm looking at it as an art form now. Thanks(:

-Rena.

once again, welcome to YWS.

Yes there's alot of rules to follow and i bet i wont get them all. (sorry for that) right away. I am a dog person. Lost my dog of eight years and haven't gotten a new one. I suffer from a broken heart. A girl crushed it LONG time ago and my recovery process isn't what it used to be with a five zero losing streak. so i'm using my misery as a tool to fuel my writings and emotions. As for music, i love jack johnson, circa survive, the hives, the artic monkeys, the smyrk. the strokes. (Yes i have a thing for the bands. I give them a chance if they have a the in their names) jet, underoath, alexisonfire and more! i cant stop listening to music! i love certian artists. eric fortune. sam weber, alex pardee, nad more. i read hi fructose and juxtapoz. dont watch much tv. play games, excercize some and do what i can to keep my flow going periodicaly. wierd i know. it's late i got to get to bed but looking foward to reading some more comments!

Dog person :D *high five*. I'm sorry to hear about your loss, I lost my dog some time ago but getting a new one made it better.

Jack Johnson + The Hives + The Arctic Monkeys + The Strokes + JET = Epic Win! You have good music taste, my friend.

And don't worry about the rules, if it would help you should consider getting a mentor on the site - they'd look after you for your first month.

Bye!
