Hello, my name is Katie. I am new here, and just figured out that I was suppose to post in the Welcome center. Anyway, a big thanks goes to Pretty Crazy for telling me how things work on here!
"Sometimes it is said that man cannot be trusted with the government of himself. Can he, then, be trusted with the government of others?"
Hey there Katie! I'm Amy, welcome to YWS! *hands cookie*
Ok, so I'm assuming that Pretty Crazy's told you the rules and all? Which is good 'cause then I can skip right past them!
Now, one thing I will show you is the YWS rainbow!
Greeters: As you might have realised, the Greeters hang around the welcome forum waiting to give new members a helping hand!
Intructors: The best reviewers YWS can throw at you! PM one for a specialist review. (Don't worry though, everyone else on this site is amazing at reviewing!)
Junior Mods and Moderators: Mods look after the whole site, making sure everything's going well. JMs do the same thing, but only over certain forums.
Distinguished Members: Members who have retired from being a mod.
Admin: The almighty! The ones who are the reason we're here! Nate created this site!
Ok, so now some questions about you! What's you favourite genre? Who's your favourite author? What could you not live without? Who could you not live without? Spots or stripes? What music do you like best? What has influenced you to write the most? What d'you usually write? Favourite colour? Dogs, cats or rabbits? Any favourite movies/tv programs? Are you looking forward to Halloween?
Hope to see you around!
~Amy
"It is curious how often you humans manage to obtain that which you do not want."
Hiya! I'm Hope, Welcome to YWS! I'm sure you will love it here. I'll just quickly go over the rules.
*No all caps/ or chat speak* *No colored font, it bugs people and it's hard to read* *For every story/poem you post, please critic at least three other works.* *Have Fun!*
People on YWS are all awesome, and super nice. If you have any questions, almost anyone will help you. They're are different ranks though. So tell us a little bit about yourself, what kind of stuff do you write? What's your favorite book/author?
"I'd rather be hated for being who I am, then loved for who I'm not."
Have you seen the Groups yet? If not they're really worth checking out. There are about a million to choose from and if you find one that interests you don't hesitate to join! Joining groups is a great way to make some fast friends and get some really helpful writing advice and support.
I'm going to skip ahead to the really hard questions now because the other main points you should know have already been covered. So.... Are you ready? If you could spend one day with any singer or band, who would you spend it with? If you could live in any one country for a month, what would you choose and why? If you were a shoe, what kind of shoe would you be and why? If you could meet one author and ask them anything you wanted for an hour, who would you meet and why? If you could have any superpower, what would you choose and why?
I hope you have a really great time here and if you have any questions or need anything at all, feel free to PM me!

It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.
Hi Katie! I'm Kat - I know, right? xD It's close. Anyway, hi *waves*! Welcome to YWS, dear! *showers with blue confetti* I'm glad my other fellow Greeters and non-greeter but still kinda awesome Hope have explained you the awesome quirks around here.
I was going to mention the Chat Room (yep, YWS has an awesomesauce chat room) where you'd be able to meet more people, but apparently it's under discussion if it should or should not be taken out of the site xD Anyway, while it's still there, it's a great way to discuss things, get to know people and get help faster!
Also, if you're bored or don't feel like writing or reviewing (not saying you shouldn't! *hides from Mod's attacks*) there's also a Randomness and the Lounge forums. They are mostly just to babble. But it's fun! You can find them under 'Community', on the top of the page.
So, have fun around here! And if you need anything, feel free to PM me - Kat
Piglet: How do you spell love? Pooh: You don't spell it. You feel it.
Hey guys! Thank you all so much for the great greetings. I think I have pretty much figured out how things work. So, on to the questions!
AquaMarine asked: What's you favourite genre? Fantasy Fiction & Historical Fiction (Contradictory, right?)Who's your favourite author? Jane Austen What could you not live without? My pen & paper Who could you not live without? My Mom Spots or stripes? Spots! What music do you like best? Classical (I know, dorky :p) What has influenced you to write the most? As corny as this sounds, it was the Twilight Series. Stephenie Meyer is a wonderful writer; but now that I think back on it, I don't understand why it was her that pushed me far enough to finally commit to what I love to do. Write. What d'you usually write? Hmm..realistic fiction, poems, fantasy fiction and a little bit of sci-fi. Favourite colour? Purple Dogs, cats or rabbits? Cats Any favourite movies/tv programs? The Phantom of the Opera is my all time favorite movie! Are you looking forward to Halloween? Yes
Okay, on to Carlito's questions! If you could spend one day with any singer or band, who would you spend it with? The Fray If you could live in any one country for a month, what would you choose and why? Tough question! Norway. My best friend moved there and I would love to spend a month with her. If you were a shoe, what kind of shoe would you be and why? A ballet flat. Because I believe that a lady should always be classy. (NOT a snob, though.) If you could meet one author and ask them anything you wanted for an hour, who would you meet and why? J.K. Rowling. I love the Harry Potter series and I think she is a mastermind of creating a completely different world that everyone wishes they could live in. If you could have any superpower, what would you choose and why? Telepathy. Is it too terrible bad to admit that I am somewhat of a procastinator?
Thanks again for all the warm welcomes! I can't wait to venture out into the world of YWS!
