So, I was thinking back to all the storybooks I have created and remembered how much I enjoyed a certain one. So... I decided to have a second go at it. The last storybook went really well and lasted for ages, it's only downfall being that it had no set rules. But anyway...

Plot

Little do the people of NYC know, that not all of their citizens are as normal as they seem. Strange powers have arisen among the people and suddenly creatures of myth are no longer a part of legends. They walk the streets of the city, trying their best to fit into normality and blend with the crowd. Little do they know that they are not alone, and a sinister group of Powered stalk the streets, watching their every move, waiting for the right time to strike...

If only they knew.

Setting

As stated above, the story will take place in the city of New York.

Characters

You have two options for your characters. You can either be a Powered, or a Hunter. The Powered are the teenagers that live in the city, and are stalked by the group known as the Hunters. Their leader, only known as Hunter, is an immensely powerful man, who employs other Powered to seek and find this people. Hunter's original power was to absorb other's powers, and he bestows this upon his hunters to a certain extent. This allows them to absorb a power after killing a person, and take it back to him, thus making him more powerful.

If you would like to play as Hunter, you must PM me or Bonnie Babe first.

RULES

If you don't follow them, your character will be killed off.

-No autoing extreme damage on other characters (such as breaking limbs or shooting them)

Name: Stevie Averson

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Appearance: Stevie stands at around 5'4, with a slim build. She has very dark hair, which is in fact a dark brown but appears black in most lights. She has quite a pale complexion. Her eyes are a bright, emerald green. She normally dresses in scruffy shirts with skinny jeans, paired with Converses or Babyshams. During the day she wears a red baseball cap and sometimes some shades to keep away the sun.

Personality: Stevie is well known for her smug, sarcastic demeanor. She likes to poke fun at others (usually in a friendly manner) but when it comes to her hunts, she can turn cold and patronizing. She's not easily angered and prefers to beat down others in a fight with quick, snarky comments. Outside of the hunt, she's quite quirky and what some might call 'strange.' She can sometimes be flirty and is not a bit backwards when it comes to guys. She is obsessed with all things dark and hates the light, often wearing caps when having to venture outside. She's mostly nocturnal and has an apparent coffee addiction, which she drinks to keep herself awake during the day. Mess with her coffee and you can consider yourself dead.

Likes: Darkness, ravens, crows, jackdaws and the like, her powers, her friend Theo, chocolate, coffee, making fun of people, play fighting, music, coffee, hunting, The Weakest Link, various other TV shows, video games, coffee, dark cold winter nights... oh, and did I mention coffee?

Dislikes: Bright lights, brussels sprouts, cats, people who think highly of themselves, needles, your face.

Power(s): Stevie controls all things dark. She can manipulate shadows and use them to transport herself short distances. She can also shroud herself and anyone near her in complete darkness, blinding them momentarily. She can also shapeshift into a raven, again tying in with her powers. The only difference is that in raven form, she retains her green eyes.



History: Stevie never knew her parents. She lived in an orphanage until she was fifteen. It never really bothered her; until she reached her teenage years and was desperate to get out. She has no memory of never having her powers; only remembering that she was always fascinated with the dark. Hunter found her after collecting the power of one of the orphanage staff, and deemed her worthy to become his apprentice and learn the ways of the Hunt. She fitted in well and developed her powers greatly, becoming one of the more feared of hunters.

Other: She has a lot of little set phrases that she likes to use, and has a way of speaking that is completely her own.

Name: Schera Shizamaki

appearance: long brown hair tied to a ponytail, slim build, 5'6" in height. SHe has white eyes (from her ability),and has a blood red scar at her palm. SHe usually wears a long flowing shirt and a red wrist band. Around her neck, she wears a dog-shape emerald as a logo of her family. She loves to wear skirts and has a flower pin at the side of her head.

personality: she is very formal and silent. She loves to do things on her own accord and to her success. She loves to take as a role as a leader and to control other people. She likes to stick to her own opinion. She hates the media and their representation of females.

like: anything that is called, high class. she loves fans, dogs and philosophy
dislike: rude comments and actions. Show offs and people who do not her place.

powers: Soul puppetry and healing. Soul puppetry is an ability wherein Schera can take a part of a person's soul to use as a weapon. The person who loses part of their soul is easily controlled by Schera. Furthermore, Schera can take in possession spirits and ghost and whenever she take over a complete soul, she has the ability to regenerate faster.
Her only weakness to this power, is that her body gets weak if she uses her power too long and that she is vulnerable to get crazy and spirit possession.

history: she is the older sister of Asuka. She is a daughter of an aristocrat who influence her life. After her family's fortune fell on the hands of the people, a large number of her family committed suicide because they do not want to be part of the common people. Schera and Asuka were saved but they still dislike to be part of the norm. Instead, they seek to get their fortunes back by joining the Hunter. However recently, her sister betrayed her family and was captured by the Hunter. Under her command, she takes her sister as well her companions as captives. AFter which, she was transported from her home country took a different last name and agreed to help Hunter in order to let her sister stay alive.

how they joined the Hunter: Schera and Asuka met the Hunter after a number of nights were they were haunted by the spirits of their family. Hunter aided them and gave them especially Schera, control over Spirits and Souls. Schera became loyal to Hunter but used this loyalty in order to gain back her fortune and when it is finished, to gain control of Hunter himself.

Name: Riley "Red" Lake


Age: 19

Gender: Female

Personality: Witty and quick thinking. Riley adapts to situations easily, and doesn't have a hard time making herself scarce. She loves learning and often goes too far in order to figure something out. Often puts herself in the line of danger, but is in no way helpless. Likes to think she is generally nice to be around, but is beginning to wonder if maybe she has a false perception of herself.

Likes: avoiding the Hunters, learning, spying, dangerous things, getting into trouble, risk taking, card games, magic tricks.

Dislikes: being alone (though she has been alone for a very long time), posers, the hunters, encyclopedias, birthdays, family-type situations.

Power(s): Shapeshifting. She can only shapeshift into another human form, and only if she can make physical contact with that person. Once she has changed into someones form once, she can as many times as she wishes after that even without touching them.

History: Thrown out by her family when her powers emerged, they had heard of the hunters and didn't want to attract them to their already less-than-well off family. Riley was on her own for several years after that until she met Travis, who she became very close with (he started called her Red for her red hair). But one day, Travis disappeared. Riley took it really hard at first, but is better now. She has been on her own ever since and has been unable to even think of forming family-like relations with anyone since her own family didn't even want her.

History: He was born in New York city and had been taken away by the hunters. But he escaped soon after, and now resides on the streets and abandoned buildings.

Name: Theo Greenwood


Age: 19


Gender: Male


Appearance: Very tall, with short blonde hair and icy blue eyes. Quite handsome, with pale skin and always seems to have a cocky, lop sided smile on his face. He normally dresses in jeans and T-shirts, and his scruffy, beaten up black Converses.


Personality: Theo is an 'eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth,' kind of guy. Hurt him, he'll hurt you back twice as hard (be it physical or emotional, he'll find a way to blackmail you.) He's confident and smug, and loves the thrill he gets from the hunt. He can be surprisingly friendly and even playful around those he loves or trusts, but he is always on the brink of turning into a cold, heartless Hunter. Whereas Stevie takes Hunting as a game, he takes it seriously. His focus is sharp and his trained Hunter's Sense cannot be matched by anyone else. He is known to bear grudges on people and can be particularly vengeful. It is easy to push him over the edge; he can turn almost physcotic during a hunt if pushed too far.


Likes: Cars, Hunting, Stevie (as a friend, though. ) the Hunt, his shotgun, using his powers, laughing at others' misfortunes, rain, The Weakest Link (Stevie has him addicted, though he'll never admit it) Call of Duty, his Xbox, having 'fake' arguments, protecting Stevie from things, stalking his prey, getting revenge, pancakes.


Dislikes: Hunter, his prey escaping him, vampires and all their relatives, anyone who isn't Stevie, particularly Hinata (for killing Violet,) and Asuka (for being a traitor,) dark chocolate, beans, anyone who tries to manipulate him or tell him what to do, anyone who tries to outsmart or outrun him, cats, seagulls, rats, apple pie, Stevie's coffee obsession, having guns pointed at him, being referred to as an 'orphan.'


Power(s): Theo can create force fields. He can use this as a form of telekinesis; for example, if he envelops something in a force field and sends it upwards. He is immune to physical attack due to the force fields and these shields can only be penetrated by a mental power. He can use his force fields anywhere, even in tight places with not much room.


History: His family was killed by vampires when he was fifteen. Naturally, he hates the creatures, and will kill them without mercy. Hunter came across him in the same orphanage as Stevie, and took him first. Lost without his only friend, he took the plunge and told Hunter that she had powers, and could be a valuable asset to him. Thankfully, Hunter did not kill her and absorb her powers, instead bringing her to the Hunters three years on.
During some difficult hunts last year, a girl named Violet, who he felt somewhat attached to, was killed by a recently tamed Powered named Hinata. He plunged into depression once more, until the return of Stevie. He seems to have forgotten what happened... or at least, he tries not to think about it.

Other: Has a couple of sporty cars as payment for his Hunts. He has been shot twice in the left shoulder over the past three years; once with a pistol, the other with his own shotgun. (lonngggg story xD) This arm can weaken slightly if he uses it too much. His shoulder is also badly torn up with scars from the wounds.

He only takes his gun on Hunts when it is sorely needed, and prefers to use his own powers.

Name: Michael Stephenson

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Appearance: Short, somewhat spiky blonde hair, lanky and athletic build, standing at about 5’10”. He has bright blue eyes, and usually wears a lightweight t-shirt, denim shorts, and Converses.

Personality: Michael gets along well with most people. He is a little lazy, though, and when it comes to the business end of things, he doesn’t much like putting in too much hard work to something he doesn’t enjoy, or doesn’t see the point of. At things he feels is important, though, he will really put it in. When he really sets himself to a task, he can become almost single-minded, and has a mean streak when dealing with people who get in the way of his goals.

Likes: Running, pranks, finding ways of doing things more easily, taking chances, listening to music, coffee, getting himself out of trouble.

Dislikes: Being held back, told to work hard at something, being caught

Power(s): Self-duplication – he can make multiple copies of himself. He can make up to eight copies of himself at a time, although making more than four starts giving him serious headaches from splitting his consciousness over so many bodies.

History: Michael has led something of a charmed life so far. He has a good, stable family, plenty of friends, gets above average marks in school (sometimes helped along by a duplicate) and is on his school’s track team.

Name: Chloe Embers


Age: 16


Gender: Female


Appearance: Curly dark brown hair with soft brown eyes. Kind of tall, and slender. Normally dresses in jeans and a hoodie.


Personality: Outgoing and friendly, loves meeting new people. She is easily angered though and can lose control of her powers if she gets too infuriated. She is kind to those she loves and very giving, often not asking for something in return. Can be quite clumsy.


Likes: Music, movies, dogs and wolves, cooking (she is a very experianced cook despite her age) badminton, other sports.


Dislikes: Cats, annoying people, the hunters, hot, stuffy places, spiders, being inside for too long.


Power(s): Chloe is a werewolf and can shapeshift into a wolf at will, but is forced to shift at full moon. When she shifts at full moon her animal side takes over and she becomes angry and vicious, even forgetting who she is.

She is bigger than a normal wolf when she phases.


History: Her sister Ellie was killed by a hunter, though she doesn't know who it could be (Maybe Schera if thats okay Foxfire) She was a werewolf too. Her mother went insane after her daughters death and was put into a hospital, and now Chloe lives on the streets.

Name: Isabel (Izzy) Stone.


Age: 17


Gender: Female


Appearance: Bright ginger hair and green eyes. Average height and quite angular. She is extremely pretty in a "different" way.


Personality: Izzy is disorganized, messy and forgetful. To her, the idea that she was given a power is laughable. She sees the whole thing as a fun joke and doesn't really take the danger seriously at all. Obviously, she has a good sense of humour and is extremely friendly.


Likes: Sunshine, drawing, photography, running and flying(in animal form), laughing, her favourite blue jeans, her silver necklace, summer, snow, hot chocolate (she loves it).


Dislikes: Being cold, hunger, bitchy people, serious people, pain, feet (hates them), not knowing what to do.


Power(s): She can shapeshift into any animal.

History: She never really knew her parents and spent the majority of her life in a variety of foster homes and orphanages. However, these weren't horrible places and Izzy met a lot of friends along the way. She never told anyone about her power because she was afraid they'd lock her up in an asylum. When she was 17 they let her live on her own and she's taken up residence in a small, poky flat. She loves it as it's her first ever home.

God I hate Theo...

Name: Alucard Cauthon

Age: looks 19

Appearance: Tall and muscular. He has messy black hair and golden eyes. His skin is unnaturally pale, but is burning to the touch. His canines are longer than normal and sometimes jut out from under his lips.

Personality: He is quiet and tends to stay with his brother most of the time. He doesn't talk much but he is always paying attention and he often catches things others don't. He is very humble and never brags. He feels the desire to help people, but he feels that he is a monster, so his desire to do good is countered by his inherant evilness. He loves music.

Race/power: Dhampir. His father was a vampire and his mother was human. The vampire blood in him reacted strongly, giving him some of the vampires powers and some of their weaknesses. He is faster and stronger than humans, but not as much as true vampires, and he has better senses. He is unfased by crosses because he does not view them as symbols of power. Crossing running water on foot makes him itch all over, but on a bote it is only slightly uncomfortable. Sunlight doesn't hurt him for short periods of time, but after long exposure he gets violently sick. It goes away after a while spent in shade or darkness. he can transfer the vampire disease.

Background: Him and his brother were born in Romania several hundred years ago. They travelled the world and kept away from people, doing good where they could and trying to atone for the sins of their father, and even their sins when they were young. He is the youngest of the two, but he is stronger. His brother and him share a strong bond that allows them to instantly tell where the other is at any point in time. After they moved to New York they started a monster hunting business. They dont openly do it, but they hunt down rouge demons that are causing havoc among the humans. Sometimes they do other jobs for humans like investigation.

Other: he has severe dislexia and can't read anything, but he has near perfect memory and is very smart. Up for love. He plays guitar.

Name: Triston Cauthon

Age: looks 19

Appearance: He is very big. He is six and a half feet tall and built like a football player. he has brown hair that he keeps around shoulder length and his eyes are blue like a huskeys.

Personality: He is the stereotypical big brother. He always has a smile on his face, and is always making jokes at Alucard's expense. He loves a laugh, and even though he shares Alucard's feeling about being a monster he doesn't let it get him down.

Race/power: See Alucard. He is weaker that Alucard, but he has some power in magic (creating fireballs etc.) however it drains him very quickly.

Other: up for love. Has a dog that he has inducted into the family
