The 'smoke' One looks awesome! I know this is probably some random little thing you decided to do after school, but if you got the correct pictures maybe this could turn into something really cool! Some simple advice: continue with this!

Those actually look pretty awesome! The original is great as-is, but: Blue print - this isn't my favorite, but I like how it looks sort of like a lava lamp. Neon light - I love it. The red and the black and the white look great together. Bronzed - Probably my least favorite, as it looks basically like the original. xD FLIR - Looks awesome, but it's a fairly common filter so the effect doesn't really stand out to me, you know? Obama Special - This isn't my absolute favorite, but I like how the blue and red have mixed on the edges to make purple. Looks nice. Smoke - This is probably my favorite, because I love the colors (it kind of reminds me of the colors on a china plate) and the fact that, well, it does look like smoke. XD Funny that it started out as fire, only to be subject to the "smoke" filter. Anyway, they look pretty cool. Keep it up!

So the original looks like you've cut it out from it's original background and put it on a black background - you can see that around the edges. If I'm wrong, then sorry ! The blue print : Doesn't really stand out to me, it's a little boring.
Neon light: Loved this one! As Lucinda said - black white and red look good together!
Bronzed: I'm a fan of this effect. Although it looks plain and simple, it's the kind of effect I like. However, it could be a little too plain.
FLIR: Again, i'm with Lucinda, this is a common effect and it doesn't really do anything for the picture. Just reduces it to a thermal chart.
Obama Special: Although I kind of like this, it just doesn't stand out enough for me. It isn't BOOM in your face awesome, or subtly amazing. not my favourite filter.
Smoke: Love, love love! It's awesome. It ... looks like smoke! Although - the way you've cut out the picture shows on this unfortunately.

Your right, Aquamarine, I did cut this out of a picture I had of a big entertainment center burning with some cardboard boxes and unfortunately I didn't cut it out very well.

The original looks as though it has bee cut from the background and very obviously, which kind of ruins it. However, I still think this is a great picture.
I can't say I really like the blue and neon print as it really hurts my eyes! But that may be just me!
The bronzed version: I liked the deepness of the colour compared to the original.
I do like the idea behind the Obama one with the colours and everything!
I love the smoked, what a nice effect (: However, you can tell the picture has been cut on this...
Overall, very good, I liked how you experimented with all the different filters! Keep doing what you're doing!

The first lot of pictures where very interesting... I like the idea behind it, I like the contrast. Very modern and upbeat... The bronze one and the last one, smokey I think it's called, are my faves...
For the second lot, (no offence it was a bit cheepish to post them in this topic but any way)are a bit... different. To me the last one came out the best and has most of the emotion and sharpness to it.

For the fire pictures, I personally think that the bronzed effect is the best effect that you've got here. It's pretty interesting, and the rest of the pictures show the flaws on the edges of the flame. The bronze looks great, and from that one, I'm sure you could photoshop a lot more awesome things out of it.
In your second post, I absolutely love the second and fourth pictures. The other two are decent, nothing too special, but I think the last one is the best. I'd love to see some of your other photography.

I really liked the second and forth picture you posted in the second lot of pictures you posted. They are both and sharp and interesting. I can't say I am too keen on the others, as they are bit out of focus and blurred and from what I can see it just looks like a bright light. They're not really that eye-catching.
I think you should carry on taking these unusual pictures and keep posting them in this thread. Make a mega thread?

For the first ones, I loved them. They really stood out to me as colorful and cool. My favorites were the flir, neon and smoke. great job.
As for the second ones, um, i did not really get captured by them. They were pretty but i do not like that kind of thing. I did like the last one though. It had a certain sharpness to it. Good job but they could use some work.

This was very interesting. And I could tell also that you cut and pasted the fire. But that's okay, is still looks amazing. My favorite was definenty the neon ans Obama special. ( The Obama special because of the funny name ) The neon really popped and the colors of the Obama special were very original. Keep it up!

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys. Im just trying to get new ideas for fire pictures and ways to capture them without burning down my house! I will think of something soon and get it up here. After all I haven't written anything forver so I need to keep the pictures coming so i dont feel like a bum.
