I have never...
touched a cloud,
avoided deceit,
seen God's face,
or raised a family.
_
I have never...
known perfect peace,
seen my father well,
not regretted mistakes,
or completely failed.
_
I have never...
been always right,
understood life,
forgotten how to hate,
or forgiven completely.
_
But I would like to.

It reminds me of Emily Dickenson's "I never saw a moore, never saw the sea, but know I how the heather looks and what a wave must be...etc"
Did that give you an idea for this piece?
I really like your concept, and the way the flow is after the "I have never"'s
Tip: you use "I have never..." too many times. Maybe the next two stanzas should begin with "Nor have I" or .... something like that... change it up a little bit, you know?

And the last line, at least in my opinion, would flow much better using "though" or "yet" instead of "but." The word "but" just sounds too harsh for a graceful poem like this.

I really like it! Maybe you could write more? I love the format, too. Great job!

I like this a lot. It has a really great usage of words, and a cool ending. Yeah I'm just going to give you a gold star and get it over with haha.

I like it, but I would have changed the genre b/c it didn't sound lyrical to me.

I really like it. Great writing. Nice ending, keeps the reader thinking, and allows us to add our own thing! I like it!

Thank you so much for the reviews!

And to answer your question, vox nihili, no, I did not get my inspiration from Emily Dickens' poem; I didn't even know there was one like that. But no, in my English class, our teacher gives us prompts to write poems with. The prompt for this poem was "start a poem with the line 'I have never...', complete that statement with however many you would like, and end it with 'But I would like to.'" So, I really didn't have a choice in what to start and end with. But thanks for the comment anyway! It's always good to care enough to make a suggestion! :D

This is a really good poem, and it flows well.
