Room Pictures

I was in my room, and I was bored, so I decided to take a few pictures. They are each captioned with a fun quote from either my novel or other of my favorites!

I loved to read - nothing gave me a greater pleasure it the world. It didn't require any skill, which I clearly lacked.

very cool. the first ones my favorite!!

Okay, this is my first review of any sort of artwork, so bear with me!

Picture 1: I love it, in terms of your subject, but the camera seems kind of grainy and blurred. It's not the best quality, and I think this picture would benefit from some sharpness, almost so we could read the words. I'm also not sure about whatever you've laid the book on. There seem to be crumbs or something? It just looks odd.

Picture 2: I don't like this much. It seems that the camera moved as you were taking this. Also, there's nothing particularly interesting in this picture, and a lot of background in the bottom left corner which draws my attention when it shouldn't. The colours aren't that bright, and I think they'd have to be if we were to get anything out of the picture. I just don't like it.

Picture 3: Again, there's something at the back of this picture which draws the attention from your main focus. Whatever's on the screen - it's not YWS, is it? - does this too... maybe adjusting the brightness so we can't see what's there might help. The keys are also too blurred for us to see them properly.

I'll let some of the artists try to help you out technically on this one, but if you want the perspective of the viewer, I'd just say I prefer the first one because there's some sort of connotation. The rest of these don't really say anything and all are quite blurred. Are they taken on a phone or something? Other than getting a better camera, and of course holding it steady, I can't advise you on that either. Lastly, just watch out for the things that creep into your picture, because I don't think anything should look like it's there accidentally.

Yea, the pictures were taken with my phone. I only started getting into photography recently - I'm saving up my money to buy a digital camera. I know that there is a photo editor on photobucket which can sharpen and clean up images - which i can probably look into for now.

Great pictures. My favorite is the top one because I like how there were mostly all lighter colors and then there was the dark green. The second was blurry like your hand wasn't still when you took the picture. The third I like because of the angle.

I love the first one, it's simplistic and beautiful. I think you should make it a little smaller though, so we can see the whole thing at once, without scrolling.

The other two, I don't like so much, they just seem plain, almost boring, to be honest. What is special about them? Maybe you could try experimenting with focus?

If you seriously want to get 'into' photography, I'd suggest a camera. A nice, portable, camera that doesn't double as a phone. There's a lot of things that could've made these photos nice.

First Photo: This photo would be alright if the lighting was better, and I didn't see that little peek of the floor which just ruins the atmosphere of the photo. The bed sheet pattern doesn't seem to click with the "romantic" mood of the book and the flower. Also, from my own eye I can tell that the flower is fake. But what makes it even more obvious is that you can see a little tag on the flowers. Give a little more effort.

Second Photo: What are you trying to portray? It's a closet. Of badly hung clothes. Again, the lighting is bad and there isn't a glimpse of a mood like the first photo.

Third Photo: Same problem with the second. The stuff at the end of the table and computer just clutters everything. Lighting and angle are off.

Photos have to make you feel something. I'm not feelin' it. Don't take my critique to offense, and I understand at that moment you only had a camera phone. However, if you know the photos will come out bad quality, don't bother posting them. Photography is a lovely art, so appreciate it a bit.

Hello Elinor, I'm Moo, and I will be reviewing your photos for you today.

First One: Well, it's the best out of all of them. The photo is a little noisy, and I think you tried too hard with the setting up. Smooth sheets, a smaller flower and better lighting would look nicer. Not to mention, a real flower.

Second One: Not working for me. I mean, it's just a closet. I need to be able to truly appreciate something in the photo, but I can't. It's boring. No one really wants to see a closet. The picture is also noisy, more so than the first.

Third One: The angle is interesting, but again it's blurry and not particularly interesting.

Well, hope that helped. You could probably get a decent camera for just over a hundred pounds. Try to look for one with interesting settings that you can toy with rather than just a simple one that basically just takes a picture and stores it.

Hello! I guess you kind of confused me of why you put these up, they aren't really creative. oh well!
The first one was definitely the best looking, although, i have to point out that in the picture, the flowers have a tag on them. You may have meant to put it there, but to me it is not pretty.
I liked the first one though, the other two were, not artistic.

I like the 1st one, it's a nice idea. I think it might have looked better if you could see more of the flower or the sheets were just plain white(nothing you can do about that, I know). But it's still nice.
As for the 2nd one, it's not very artsy, it just looks like a picture if you know what I mean. It's also dark and doesn't look very in focus.
3rd- Again, not very bright or focused, or really artsy. The biggest thing though is the stuff next to it, it draws your attension away from the main object. Also the screen would look better black.

The last two could potentionally be good, if you just watch for things like that. I'm not trying to be mean, just helpful

Art has to have some sort of composition or skill or meaning involved. You kinda of just snapped some pictures, so it doesn't really count as real artwork. If you want to get into photography, you have to approach it as you would any other form of art; think about it, invest in a camera, invest in computer software, decide what you want your pictures to say. You could do it, but it's something that requires as much practice and thought as painting or drawing. xxx :]

I'm being honest when I say this: your first photo is absolutely amazing. Phenomenal, even.
I'm not sure I like the rest, though.
Try and take more like the first one and they will continue to be great.
