Help me I'm Drowning!

Figuratively; of course. I'm new here and I've already posted two parts of one story (keeping in mind the golden ratio rule) and reviewed several works. But there's so much to do and I'm am an utter technotard. SO,
How to you put a rating on your work? And can one story change its rating several times )(like part one g, part 2 r, ecetera)?
And how do I get people to stay with a story I'm writing (besides writing a really good story, which is basically my goal) and to critique often?
And will any of you take pity on me and be my friend????
PS I'm meagan; i feel weird if you adress me as empress.

Okay, so it looks like you've already read the rules , so there's nothing much for me to explain. I haven't actually submitted anything since the new YWS came up, so I really can't help you with ratings.

As for critiquing, a lot of people are sure to come around and do a review on yours soon enough. I can pop on by later and do a critique for you, if you want.

Oh, and of course I'll be your friend!

There's always the "Will Review For Food" forum if you want to ask people to review your stuff. Just a warning though (from experience) don't post on like a million peoples requests and try to limit it to 2 per week. Usually there's a place while submitting to choose the rating but I haven't posted yet with the new YWS and I know they're still working on some glitches. See ya around,

Hello Empress! You seen to be very nice for the name you ride with. If you know what I mean but.... Welcome to the YWS! You know the rules- great but you still need some advice, right? So, for people to review your work or to stick with it you can do two things:

1st - Check out the buddies system by clicking here. Then, choose someone to be your mentor throw a month (you need to ask them first and I'm not sue if it's a month...) and they will guide you with your work, watch over you and get you well started in the YWS.

2nd- You can go to the "Will Review For Food" forum (you can find it on the "Writing Resources" area)and ask someone to review your work. They are always looking for new works to work on and they rarely fail as reviewers.

These are my advices on how to get people to review your work. But we have also the chat, which is a great place to advertise your work, therefore, I think you should log on there, talk a bit about yourself and your work and ask if they're interested in reading something. We always say "yes".

I'd love to be your friend. I kinda don't have lots of but I like to keep them few and good. Add me if you want or don't. You choose.

For rating work, we had that on the old forum, and I think Nate is still working to bring that back. It's only been a week, and he's still in the process of fixing everything up. And to answer your question about rating different parts - Yes.

If you want to get someone to follow your story as you post more chapters, do what I'm doing. Find someone else who's just starting to post chapters of their story and give them a review. Then PM them saying something like, "hey, looks like we're both starting novels. How about we help each other. I'll review all your chapters if you review all mine." Chances are they'll be more than happy to have someone reviewing thier whole novel as well.
