Jason Stone crouched through the trees, his rifle in front of him. One of the members on his team had found a life sign, and the only one on the whole planet. He and his best friend, Carson Summers, had flew in from Cosmosri, a advanced city that was left behind by a race a long time ago. Carson and Jason had both decided to split up and check the life sign from different sides, and as they were nearing the life sign, they found something unexpected. It was a glowing, white egg, with silver and bright blue swirls that were moving.
"Hey Carson, what do you think it'll hatch into?" Jason asked.
"Beats me. Do you want to bring it back to Cosmosri?" Carson replied.
Jason glanced at the egg. "Let's radio in Riley to scan this, before we bring it back. I don't want some alien to be running loose."
Carson looked up at the purple sky. He cast a worried glance at Jason."I say that we should bring it back."
Jason looked at the egg, wondering why, and how it came to this planet, when all there was, were plants and trees. "What if the egg has a mother?"
"Jason," Carson sighed, "There's no life sign other than this egg!"
"Fine. We'll bring it back. But if that egg turns out to be dangerous, I'm blaming you." Jason told Carson as hung his rifle on his army vest and picked up the egg.
The egg's energy around it flared when it came to contact with Jason's chest. "Whoa, what just happened?" asked Jason.
"I don't know, but let's get back to Cosmosri." answered Carson.
Carson went in front of Jason, his rifle out in case of danger. Jason studied the egg. The white energy was moving, unlike when it had been still. It was as if the egg had been awakened, and it was waiting for something. When the two men got to the Nightrunner, a black spaceship that was the means of travel for the Cosmosrians, they set course for Cosmosri.
The Nightrunner flew into space and into a portal. It went through blue, glowing, tunnel. Suddenly it stopped at the end of the tunnel. There was a shield up. Carson imputed his Space ID code and flew the Nightrunner through the tunnel, and into the Cosmosrian Nightrunner bay.
Jason walked off the platform with the egg in his hands. Carson was beside him. Riley walked over to Jason. "Stone, was that the life sign?" asked Riley.
"Yes. Carson convinced me to bring it here."
The men were around the egg. A machine was scanning it. Riley looked at the computer screen. Inside of the egg was a wolf like animal. "Is that creature harmless?" asked Jason.
Riley shook his head. "I don't know. But it's close to hatching. I'll keep it in my lab, and I will radio you when it hatches okay?"
Jason nodded and went with his friend to the cafeteria. Riley scanned the egg some more and gasped. "It's one of the Zeeleon! But, what is it doing here this far from home?"
Riley gazed silently at the egg, because it reminded him of his Lupis, Leaf, who had died to save him from the Spiri. The Spiri were the most dangerous enemy in the galaxy, and Cosmosri were constantly trying to defeat them. They destroyed planets, and if they find Earth, they will try to kill all the humans there. Riley stroked the egg for a while, still mourning over the loss of his Lupis. The clock struck 6:00 P.M.
The egg started to glow more brightly and the energy started to swirl around it. Riley pressed a button on his earpiece. "Stone come quick! The egg is hatching!" said Riley.
Jason came in the room and went in front of the egg. The light blasted through the room, causing Jason and Riley to cover their eyes. A small, white, wolf-like puppy was sitting down, wagging her tail at Jason. "It's a wolf. That hatched from a egg." said Jason.
"No, it's a Zeeleon. And she's yours." corrected Riley, who gave Jason a watch that looked like a small computer was in it. "And that's what came with this Lupis. Lupis are very rare and they have the ability to evolve into many different types of Zeeleon. This machine gives you all the information on your new Zeeleon. All you have to do is giver her a name and do whatever you want with her."
The white Lupis looked up anxiously at Jason, who looked down at the Zeeleon. "Well . . . Come on. I'll find a name for you." Jason told the Lupis.
The Lupis jumped down from the table and walked alongside Jason to Kaylee, a friend of his who wanted to spar. The Lupis looked around everywhere, curious of the world. Most people wanted to pet her, since there were no animals in this galaxy.
"What do you want to name the Lupis?" asked Kaylee when Jason and she were sparring. The Lupis was sitting down, watching them fight.
"I don't know. What do you think? Should I give her a human name or an animal name?" replied Jason.
Kaylee thought for a moment, lowering her guard. Jason took that moment to strike, but Kaylee blocked the attack. "Well why don't you ask her? Your Zeelwiki says that they have the intelligence of a human and it also says that they can answer you through your mind and they can use telepathy."
Jason and stopped sparing and turned to ask the Lupis. "Do you want a human name?" asked Jason.
The Lupis shook her head. "An animal name?"
The Lupis wagged her tail. "How about Dreamer?" Dreamer wagged her tail joyously. Kaylee looked outside of the window. The ocean and the forest besides it provided a good cover for the city.
The sky was deep indigo and three moons were visible tonight. She had to check up the the patients tonight. Kaylee bowed to Jason before exiting out of the room. Jason knelt down next to Dreamer. He touched her head and gasped.
Dreamer absorbed his memories of Cosmosri into her mind. Jason jerked his hand off of Dreamer and touched his head. "What the hell did you do that for?" he yelled.
Dreamer whimpered and nuzzled Jason's face, sneezing when her nose brushed against Jason's messy blond hair. Jason's face softened and said, "I'm sorry. But don't do that again."
He put the sword down and walked out of the room. Dreamer . . . She doesn't seem dangerous. But she may be when she grows up. For now, she's harmless. Dreamer followed Jason to his quarters.
Jason put on his pj's and got into the bed. I hope the Spiri won't come here. The city is hard enough to defend as is. I hope Kaylee will be okay tonight with all those dangers. Jason fell into an unrestful sleep, waiting for morning to come.
Dreamer stood on guard, her amber eyes glowing in the darkness. She sat there, watching, and listening, for any sounds of intruders. One of her ears twitched. She heard some footsteps that didn't sound quiet human . . .
