What is History

My definition of history is : its a subject at school that is often found to be boring and useless. I hate history!!


So, how would you define history??

first of all.. my difinition would be the opposite of yours..

I love history especially Ancient Rome, Egypt and of course the history of British kings and queens.

two thumbs for that Nox. I also love the renesance age and WWII history. everything else is bull

Isn't there ANY historical events that you like or enjoyed learning about?

I hated Maths but I enjoyed learning trigonometry.

nope, and now we are doing australian history, mainly about recent primeminsters i think

I love History my favourite period are Medieval duh WW2 and WW1 Greek most civlisiation

Love history. Ancient history and Medieval history in particular. Not so much recent stuff, hardly seems like history at all.

I once heard that history had something to do with writing, so "prehistoric" is anything before people started to write.

I absolutely love history. All history. Especially religious history, all sorts of religious history. I'm christian but I love studying all religions and how they're interrelated.

And of course medieval, dark ages stuff and ancient. Also I love 60's American.

Sorry you're teacher must REALLY suck. I say this because most of mine did too, but that didn't turn me from it. Then again maybe you are just blind to it's coolness.

History is not so much the past in the present as it is the present in the past.

I love those times as well! Definately the coolest. I'd say Ancient Greece is really fabby too.

I had to pick either History or Geography. I picked Geography and it was a big mistake.
