Here I shall be posting all my photography over time, so that I don't waste a load of points. Just a forewarning: I take lots of pictures of flowers. So this thread will be like 70% flowers. Sorry. xD

Hello, I'm here to review!

the first two, to be honest, where OK. But after them the rest where brilliant! they where all breath taking in nature they where just fantastic! Each one captured a beautiful moment in life. The rotting apple and the cherry blossom tree are just too cute!

My fave is the one of the rain on the window (Rain fan here)!

I disagree, i think the first one was more than okay. The second one.. well yeah it was ok.

These pictures are great, you must have a good camera. I think my favorite would have to be the last, I just think that angle that you captured the water from was fantastic. I have to ask, where did you take these?

So. Okay!

I love the first one; it's so spring-y and cheery. Really vibrant colors there and awesome clarity; great composition, too.

The second one is great, too. More often than not, people think photography has to be some cool, exotic scene or fabtastic shot-- and no, I think photography is best when it displays local color. Really captured the south-western-ness in this simple shot. I love it.

The next of the grass is fabulous. I love, love, love how the shady part is in focus, with the sunny part in the distance. Awesome shot there.

I also like the next one, but it has a somewhat bland touch to it. I think in color this would have been great, and usually, greyscale photos need to be a bit dramatic, in my opinion. I think if you had offset the stalk, instead of having it center-front, this would have a more dramatic touch. Nevertheless, I love the whole field-y scene. Beautiful.


I love, love, love the pink tree one! Such vibrant colors here, and even though we don't have a specific focus on any one flower, it's beautiful.


Also love the next of grass and water-- beautiful perspective there.

I like the one of the window, but I think it'd be superb if you had focused on a rain drop in the foreground. But, it's awesome, especially since rain is a rarity for you xD (*mean*).


I loooove the one of the apples. It's amazing, Holly, it's perfect and totally uncliche. It may be my favorite one here-- it's simply perfect.


The next one of the flower is great, too -- kind of has a lonely, deserted feel to it. I love it.


And I love the last one! The reflection is brilliant, and the leaves on the water are a nice touch. I love it.

Great work here, Holianthus! I look forward to your next ones! =D

Heya Holly! I must say, I'm not the best on art (not even good) but I'll give you my honest thoughts on these photos.

1º- I like it. It screams to me spring time! let's bloom up to the sun. Creepy, I know (flowers talking). Anyway, I love the shade of the petals- I'm not sure about the flower without flowers that's slightly behind the center of the photo. it's a bit distracting, but still gives me a thought like 'ugh, that other one is jealous -- she hasn't her petals yet." Anyway, me likes it

2º- I agree with June at every point. i love this photo! It's so simple, so sad. The small wooden stairs are lonely, but yet with the light it tells me there's hope. So, I really like it. It has that simplicity that makes a photo great.

3º- Your point of view an focus is awesome It tells me how a bug sees it. I really like the small font in the back. It's like the fancy font is far away, like I'm seeing from the ground; as if from below.

4º- I like this, it's okay and nice to watch, but in this case I think colors would work nicely. I think the color of that plant (I suck at plants) is some shade of purple...? I think purple would really work there.

5º- I like this one, but the angle is a bit confusing. I get a bit frightened and jump back, because the branches seem to be broken or distorted or something (hope I make sense).

6º- It's perfect. My only suggestion was to change your focus a little bit, because the whole photo is centered to the right, while the left is left open and unfocused which is ma bit distracting.

7º-Reminds me of my tears. Again, your angle is very good, and I can catch this photo as something as a broken heart.

8º- Marvelous. Perfect. Brilliant! My favorite photo by far. So not cliche, and so sweet and sad and wonderful! *sigh* tells me a story, if you know what I mean. Like something was happening, and someone took a bite but wasn't able to finish (you might just have inspired a poem or short story ). And how the green apples, so simple, go against the hard rock makes an awesome contrast.

9º- Here, the black and white works

10º- This is awesome too! I really like this one. Leaves me to wonder how the heck you took this without wetting your camera.

Keep 'em coming and sorry for the lame review, since art and photography isn't my thing xD

These are excellent!!!! The fourth and seventh and eighth are my faves out of these! The sixth seems a bit blurry to me. The ones from your backyard are fantastic! Just wondering though, if ninth one was taken in your backyard, what are you building or built in your backyard?

You truly have a nack for taking such beautiful pictures!

You take really great pictures! I love all of them, but my favorite is the rotting apples' one. That one is so pretty. Is that one in your back yard, I didn't understand when you said 4,5,8,9. *blonde moment*. -Jessie.

Busy week for me. I haven't had time to review or anything, so, really, really sorry on that. And, also, I keep reminding people that I'm harsh when it comes to photos, so. Like. Just. Don't mind that. Or something. Whatever. Maybe?

Second post

One - I guess this one is okay. For me, it's not especially interesting-- I see leaves in the maple family that look like this all the time and see rain even more often. Which is bad, considering that everything around here is like, those kind of trees? XD So, yeah! I do like the vibrancy in this photo; really love the clarity and composition, though I'm not so fond of having your subject in the drop-dead center. New angles are a lot cooler, because they give your photos a unique interesting approach. ^^

Two - I like! The zinnia in focus is beautiful. I love how there are more in the background of the same color, and your exposure didn't kill your blue sky. Beautiful shot, Holly, though my only complaint in this is that white fence to the back-left of your photo; my OCD would force me to photoshop it out.

Three - Love it. Perfect, Holly. For a moment, I'd guess this wasn't taken through glass and rather taken with an underwater camera. Perfect shot.

Four - Great job on the water shot! I applaud you on that; no matter how fast I set my burst modes on my camera, I have never been able to get a shot half good as this. My only complaint on this one would be how soft it is. There's no dominant focal point in this that stands out to me, and that kind of bothers me a little. But remember, I'm picky. xD And it's just me. I do like this shot a lot.

Five - Cosmos? I love how the one in the foreground is the dominant focus, yet it's cut off -- old technique there that rarely fails to impress. I really like how we see the flowers in the background, but I'm not so wild about the fact that this is so dark.


Six - Love and don't love. I love how the focal point-- the stairs-- in this leads us away-- great composition. However, the plants around it annoy me. xD It's just they look untamed and whatnot, and the vibrancy of the green is a little hard! I'm not sure if this would be better in greyscale?

Seven - Epic. Beautiful shot, Holly, wonderful angle, too. I love how the tree trunks draw our eyes up and focus on the cloudy sky.

Eight - Decent. Don't really like it, because the branch isn't actually the most interesting thing to look at. xD It's good/decent, but just not my favorite. We don't actually have a focal point, dearie.


Nine - I love this one! Totally boasts local color in this one-- very southwestern and a beautiful shot. Nice work.


Ten - Great; as some photographers say, flowers are cliche. They're sometimes the easiest things to take photos on and generally become less and less exciting. Nevertheless, I do like this, though the greens are dark. xD

I really like your style, Holly. You have a good eye for attractive shots; Do you ever try still life?

These pictures are so beautiful! I love the one in the ladder, it's my favorite. Also the one of the rotting apple. I like it because each individual one tell's its own story and all. They're too cute, and you have a great eye for color and picture. Try some more uquine angles, I think those would look amazing, too.
