Greetings.

I'm a fantasy/science fiction writer who has been working on various projects for the past eight or so years, and am in fact preparing to finish my first full length novel within a week. Hope this forum turns out to be as interesting as it looks.

Aha! So that's who said it. I noticed that quote on your messenger and was wondering where it was from.

I'm actually surprised you joined the site, didn't think you'd be so interested.

Well, you know me. I have random interests, and it's good to find a site with people like me.

Hi GrinningFox! Welcome to YWS!

Here are just some basic rules that you need to know while on YWS:

-No chat speak. (lik dis) This is a writing site, not a text message on your phone.

-NO CAPS! This will just get on people's nerves.

-Try to use proper grammar and punctuation.

-If you ever post your novel on here, try to keep a ratio of two reveiws per one post. (2:1)

Well, I think that covers it.
YWS is a great site that lets you grow and improve in your writing. You'll also meet a bunch of other writers like yourself.

Good luck with your novel! :)

Don't follow in my footsteps. I run into walls.

Sometimes, it's best not to question your friends. Just help them dump the body into the river.

Even if the voices aren't real, they have pretty good ideas.

Writing isn't an excuse for insanity. It's a reason.

You do not need to worry about the grammar. On forums I have to try and keep myself from sounding like an English butler (my writing tutor always used to say I wrote like one...).

Likely won't post my novel until it is finished and published, but I will make sure to review. Reviewing other people's work is fun and great for inspiration.

If you can't get out of your comfort zone, you'll never find what you're looking for. Don't make things quick and easy to feel better short term. Make a change and then you'll feel better longer term.
