My freshman honor's English teacher was fond of marking "cyhjcnw" on our papers, alongside the usual circles where punctuation should be. What did it mean?

Congratulations. You have just coined a new word.

So, this thread is to celebrate the words we use, but shouldn't (and I don't mean the four-letter kind).

My personal favorites are

Booyah: exclamation of triumph.

Ginormous: bigger than either gigantic or enormous

Humongo: fat to the point of being huge

Fantabulous: better than fantastic or fabulous

What are your favorite not-words?

My least favorite:

Disrespecting: the action of showing little regard.

I hate it. What do you hate?

manlac: the act of suckling milk out of a mans boosum. Or trying to.

Not the way we use it in Rhetoric... *laughs*

Whenever somebody does a good job on a speech or something and we're clapping, we all call out "schism" like "bravo!" or "great job", except we pronounce it shi-zum.

I agree, QiGuaiGongFu...especially since many of these words are just slang variations of current words..not that I don't use slang or anything.

It's kind of hard to not use slang on a basketball court...

"Excuse me sir, please throw the basketball to me..." sounds impossibly lame...more like

"Yo dawg toss me da rock!" That's hardcore right there...

I'm going off on a tangent...

If someone said, "Yo dawg, toss me da rock" I'd find a big rock and throw it at them ... but that's just me.

"Nyah nyah nyah nyah!" pronounced: neeh-yah
- an expression of the ultimate nerdiness of the speaker.

"Ghni" pronounced: ghnee
- an expression of satisfaction.

"Weasle" pronounced: wee-sel
- a very special weasel.
Oh, you're angry! Click your pen.
