Mary
The lunchroom was packed when Mary finally came in. She grabbed her food and sat down near a few kids so she wouldn't look like a loner. The nearest may have been Jonothan and a girl whose name may have been Avaline, but Mary wasn't sure.
Mary swore in Spanish under her breath, as she was still angry about the detention. She caught Jonathan glance at her in the corner of her eye. He probably new some foreign curses to get out of detentions in schools, a lot of people did that and it really annoyed Mary.
Mary's school schedule lay on the table in front of her, and Mary looked it over to distract herself. Luckily she had dance next, but would end up missing her last class of the day to attend the stupid detention in the detention room on the other side of the school.
"You okay?" Jonathan asked, noticing the frown on Mary's face. "You sounded pretty unhappy earlier."
"I'm fine," she lied. "Just got a stupid detention later."
"Bad first day, huh?" Avaline asked.
Mary sighed. "You bet." After a slightly awkward pause, Mary tried to start a conversation. "How about you too? Good day?"
Jack
After a simple history class, Jack wandered through the school with his lunch and Shadow at his side. He eventually entered a courtyard where some people were sitting. Shadow led Jack to a table that only had one other person sitting at it.
"Hey," Jack said. "I'm Jack. Can I sit here?"
*It's Desmond by the way*
