I find myself stepping out of the boundaries of comfort inside art that I've drawn for myself, which pleases me. I've done too many portraits. So as you can imagine, I find this new piece refreshing. It's a little rough, but comments are much appreciated.

EDIT: Those are not trees. They are hands.

Hello!
On this picture I can see moonlight, it is drawn very well. And you drew shadows very well. And girl looks like alive girl. I think, that if you were an animator, you would be good animator. May be.
So, good!

This is very pretty, you’re excellent at drawing, especially for your age. I love your shading, and how you’ve curved the shading in towards the girl, so that our attention is totally focused on her! I like the trees, they are trees right? If I’m wrong feel free to shoot me! Although, I think they may be a little thick, the branches that is. The girls dress is absolutely wonderful, the creases and shading really bring it to life! It looks as though you could reach out and touch it and her shadow is a stroke of genius! Well done, a truly exceptional drawing, thank you for the pleasure of seeing this!

Hi Bittersweet! Very nice drawing.

The girl was perfect. I loved her arms (weird thing to notice, I know) and I did see moonlight on her hair too. From expiriense, I know thats hard to even notice.

The only thing, I hope you dont mind, Ill review are the trees. They look more like hands to me. Usually the little branches dont spread out in the end like that. But thats all.

Keep posting!

Nice work, Bittersweet! That concept is beautiful and fantastic! The shading is lovely (especially on her dress) and the highlighting of the moon, spot on! The shadow creature behind her is very intriguing. Not to through off the amazing balance of the shading you have here but the shadow creature could have been a little darker, I think. The hands are great, very fitting but could have looked a little more like hands, maybe. Her hair could have been a little more realistic, even though it's straight, it could have been more flowy.

I congratulate you on a brilliant piece and please continue to post your work.
I shall but love thee better after death.

Marvelous!
The shading is amazing, it gives it a sorta dark feeling to the picture.
The Shadow was more favorite part of the drawing personally, the gripping claws reaching for her.
I love how much detail was in this piece of art, hope that you will create more just as wonderful!!

Holly!
Hey there :D
I'm here to give my two cents' worth.
Overall, I thought this was a fabulous piece of artwork.
Two things I noticed though:
1) The trees could be mistaken for hands, which is probably why you put in that edit :)
I think it's 'cause the branches don't join to a tree's bark that straight, that sort of fan out, and are at different heights of the bark, not just the tip ;)
2) Your shading was had that nice smudgy effect (I loved how you drew the girl), but it would be even more contrasting if you add more shades. You could make the background darker so that the moon and the girl look more starkly illuminated :D

Anyhoo, I hope that helped!
Oh, and gold star, for a lovely piece of artwork, despite stepping out of your comfort zone ;)
Have a great day! :D

Hello, Holly!

Epiiiic. Nice, creative concept here. The only thing that could use improvement is the shading. I would take my index finger and blend it a little to make the pencil lines less sharp. A bit of detail on the ground would be spiffy, so that it doesn't look like she's sitting on a giant, smooth rock.

Very nice job with the moonlight! Only thing I would do to better it is come with a heavier-weight pencil and darken the edges. Amazing work as always, Holly. Keep it up. Nice work on the girl, too.

[I love how-- despite your edit-- everyone thinks those are tree branches...]
