How to Be Cool (for Eighth Graders)

1. Only wear preppy stores. Abercrombie, Hollister and Aeropostale are good stores. Hot topic is for scary french poets who never bathe and like to sacrifice puppies to satan. And Pac sun is for swetty people who like to skate bord and get derty.
2. Doent lissen to boy music. This includes ALL rock and rap.
3. Doent listen to rock. it makes you an obnoxious emo.
4. Ware mayk up. But keep it natral. If ya doent ware mayk up you look like a childish loser.
5. Follow the latest trends. Own at leest won pear of Uggs and ware neeon kullered shades.
6. Doent sware. It makes ya look skanky
7. Try to spell things rite. IF ya doent it makes ya luk dum
8. Doent talk to ugly people. It makes you a loser with a capital "L" and if you are ugly ask you Daddy if you can get a nose job or lypeosukshun
9. Try not to eat a lot. If you eat in frunt of people you look fat
10. DOENT WATCH ANNIEMAY!!! All anniemay is for nerds, and all anniemay fans are losers. If you doent no wat anniemay is itz japanneeze kartewnz
11. Git a boyfrend If ya doent gotz a boyfrend you are a little loser.
12. Try not to get a'z only nerds get A's in school. Get B's and C's. D's and F's mayke ya luk lyke ya aint a nerd and dat makes ya kewl
13. Use a stratiron. IF you dont have straight hair you are automatically un cool
14. Only be frendz with the popularz. ime frendz wit da popularz and have tonz of frends
15. DONT BE Nis TOo ADDDULTS!! IF you are nice to your mom and Daddy or to your teachers you look like a goody two shoes.
16. Dont be on any sportz teamz cuz youll get gross and swetty

I do not agree with this article. It is just a parody about how kids at my school act. I love abercrombie, anime, rock/metal and I had my hair dyed purple at the end of last school year!

How is this helpful? Populars are a bunch of Queen B's who think they are better than everyone. 'You aren't popular if you aren't rich', what kind of advice is that?

u gotta drink nd get drunk wiv ur frends every weekend cuz then ur HARDCORE.

always say dat u have smoked. nd have a packet in ur bag cuz smoking is awesome

never do wrk, wrk sucks u need to shout out nd nt do anythng the tchrs say get as mny detentns as poss.

I found this very amusing I must say!! Even more so as I don't have 'cool' and 'uncool' where I come from. Individuality and a strong personality is more likely to get you heard than being a cheerleader! (well, we don't have cheerleaders where I live)
Of course I do study Drama and French and Religious Studies and really they are subjects in which you meet very eccentric people.

This is a really stupid article. I know a lot of people who would not call you cool for doing this. It is also really mean article. "do this or you're not cool."

Rock music is good, long live Elvis! Long live MCR and Evanescence.
What's so important about makeups in school? I like keeping my face just neat and natural in school but I admit dolling up a bit before trips to the shopping malls.
Anime's good too. In my school, those who don't watch anime's far behind the trend. (Well, I don't. =X)
Being nice to adults is nothing wrong. We're going to be adults eventually, and get old. So why rebel against them?
I like reading, and this is YWS. XD

But I do agree that we don't have to act popular. Just be yourself, and that matters.

I do the opposite to nearly all of them! I love reading, I like Abercrombie too though... I love rock music. At our school to be popular you have to swear all the time, be in every sports team you can imagine wear nothing but designer brands and you have to suck up to teachers/make teachers think you're really clever and sweet. I'm not popular at my school... but I don't regret it.

This was funny, but so not true at all. I was popular when I was in high school, but not many of those things are true about me. I have dark brown and curly hair, I listen to bands that aren't quite famous yet, I have NEVER had a boyfriend, I don't own uggs. Though I DO wear makeup, I was on the cheer team, dance team, and volleyball team, and I definately did not get A's, except English Oh, and I was in band haha. This just goes to show how silly stereotypes can get.

At my school this is quite right actually, also I do agree with strayrebel on the cursing part.
