I moved this from Other Poems-- I didn't feel it belonged there. Please review

Have a strawberry
Picked in the day
Ripe with juice
Oh, sweet I say
Red and whole
With crunchy seeds
Wash the bugs off its green leaves

Have a strawberry
Picked in the day
Feel free and gay
Come what may
Sweetly berries never faulter
Never cherries or no other
Have 1, 2, 3 or 4
In the folly
Ask for more
Melancholy in the breeze
Summer's breath asking "Please?"

Have a strawberry
Picked in the day
Feel free and gay
Come what may

As he leaves ask for these,
For love, for peace, serenity
Ocean's green crashed in those eyes
Once bottomless pools that made me die
They're now dark pits
A lonely sea
Facing waves
Without Me

Have a strawberry
Picked in the day
Cry and pray all the while
Feeling free and gay
Come what may

See, we could have been called The Shoes.
— Paul McCartney
