Uh...Qi...was that really necessary?

Anyway..
Personally, i really enjoy anime films. Especially the ones made by Hayao Miyazaki (spirited away, princess mononoke, the cat returns, my neighbour totoro, Nausicaä of the Valley of Wind etc) Not only are they beautifully drawn, they have good storylines too! So hey, everyone's a winner! Oh, and they aren't "slutty" at all.
"Sometimes we see a cloud that's dragonish,
A vapour sometimes like a bear or lion,
A towered citadel, a pendant rock,
A forked mountain, or blue promontory,
With trees upon't that nod unto the world,And mock our eyes with air.."

Well, if you're saying Anime is slutty... Then I have no idea what kind of Anime you have been watching. Anyway... 'Spirited Away' is an amazing film, I love it to bits. It's so amazing, and the story plot is very good. Everyone is weird and I loved it when they had that big smelly guy come in. That was funny because the food melted and he left a trail. xD

I already said this is my opinion! Didn't you read it? And cheese is not off topic Bobo said not liking anime is like not liking cheese. I do not like either. I also never said Anime is ugly, I admit it is not. I repeat it is not always slutty, I still think it is creepy. Some of the kids I know who like Anime feel they are hot and have crushes on animated characters. Can you honestly say that is normal?
I do not hold it against people if they like Anime I am just stateing my strong opinion.
thankyou for defending me Qi. I still do not know any more about Anime, what actually makes Anime, Anime?

P.S. My spellcheck did not work for I while. I am not really interested in getting something that is not a story in good grammar.

I honestly don't see how that's any different than seeing Orlando Bloom in a movie and crushing on him. Either way you're talking about an image, not a real person.

I agree 100%

No Im serious.
I mean, if there was one only one person doing it, it would be original, but there isnt just one person doing it.

That style is UNIQUE
www.sorethumbsonline.com that style is not.
Neither is http://studiorain.wc3campaigns.com/
They're different, but not to an extent where its even 50% unique.

Oh Orlando Bloom is an actual human being with skin and flesh. So unless your calling anime characters that I see a difference.

One episode of American Dad made me laugh more than the whole series of Love Hina.

But the image on the screen, is nothing more than that: an image. What difference does it make whether it's a photographic image or a animated one?

Because the person who plays the part is an actual person, as in, you can also see the person off the screen.
You can touch (though Im pretty sure he'll have some Brutes or something), talk to, etc... and he'll respond. Usually not in the best way.

So yeah... Go talk to an anime character off the screen.

Also your generalizing things so much your basically saying "the tv is a tv, whats the difference?", were talking about the things that the tv shows, like, you know, the tv shows that the tv airs with the tv people on the tv.

(for those who play warhammer 40k...)

Ok, then answer this, what style is stubble in?
Now what style is sorethumbs and studiorain in?
If you answered Manga for sorethumbs and studiorain (which they both said their comics were drawn in the Manga Style) then there you have it.

Why do they call it manga? why not their own style? Thats not unique, stubble comics is unique, why? NOONE ELSE DRAWS LIKE IT.

What style is Family Guy in? Now what style is Rurouni Kenshin in? What would Kenshin and Love Hina be called? Now what would Simpsons and Family Guy be called?

Well, it's just like someone drawing a portrait of something you think is flaming hot. My guess is that they're still flaming hot in this portrait, as well, no?

Are you referring to an object or a person? You said "something", or someone? Because you said "they are", not "it is".

If everything is unique, why would you get offended if we say we hate manga? It seems to affect a lot of shows and comics and such. Where as the next thing to call stubble is just comic.
What do you call American Animation?
Ameriation?

If its to each his own then they wouldnt both say "we draw manga", because then its not to each his own.

Check those 2 out, tell me what you notice about the styles of those 2, are they different?
Notice how they're alike, because theyre drawing by the same person.

Take every anime out there and notice the similarities, how many of them have those over-used super emotions? Over exaggerated bubble sweats? Eyes that dont connect? Mouths that get all triangular? yeah!!!! Are they drawn by the same person? NOoooo!!!!!

Anime and Manga are not unique, they hardly offer anything eye pleasingly new, and the same emotional crap (he killed my whole family, I have amnesia, Im an over emotional demon, I need a relic) type dealie.

You know whats an ironic twist? Camp Lazlo on Cartoon Network offers more entertainment than what anime can offer.

I agree that an image is nothing more than an image whether live-action or animated. Also I would like to point out that kids who have "crushes" on animated character aren't necessarily serious about the whole things. They realize that they are never going to meet the character just as much as someone who watches a movie knows they're not really going to ever meet the dashing young man from the screen. That character does not really exist just as much as an animated one doesn't.
Another thing, my sister draws beautiful anime. It's not the big eyed pokemon anime that so many people identify anime with. It has a personality.

Anime is not unique otherwise it would not have a name! I tried drawing an Anime picture ans I have found it does not take talent, it was my first and only one. I would post it if I could. Depending on how much detial you put in the picture is how long it takes. If you are faster at detial than someone else it might give you the illusion of talent. Each persons style is not true either it is just what the person likes to draw in Anime. Show me Anime with a unique personality and i will show you a lemon with one. If you think Animia is hot you should think M.J. is hot too. He looks like an Animia character.

I looked at the pictures they do not have unique personality. Your sister might be a good artist is she stopped doing Anime. That is the biggest compliment I can give to Anime. I am not sure if I consider Anime art. Most people here are defending it. Those shows you mentioned are unique. Everyone is not doing them they are all from the same maker.

One of the things I love about YWS is the quote generator. For example, I'm reading a really serious work, and then I see "Moo. - cow" at the bottom of the page.
