I'm guessing you want me to cover the Shading. So I will start with that.
I actually do not see much shading. Just a black and white picture.
I only see a little in the hair and on the side of the girl's face. T
ry to darken the areas where a light source of your choice touches the picture the least.
The best exercise for that is to draw pieces of the body and practice the shading. Draw a circle and try to make it look like a sphere using shading, is another basic practice.
The drawing itself:
The head is very disproportional to the body I find. It is too big and the features on the face fit the body sizes. This make the picture look off balanced. I find that the eyes were nicely done though.
The shirt is to stiff as well as the hair.
Overall this is a nice drawing! You draw very good anime!

Im gonna guess that this is what you where refering to. Its nice. You drew really nicely the eyes and I do see some shading around the neck.
Im gonna have to agree with the first comments about the head/body proportion. In anime, the head should at least be the same size of the torso.
And as for the hair try doing it as individual swirls of hair, instead of a solid one.
Other than that its pretty cool. Hope I helped. And Keep posting.

it looks nice but the is too big for the body and is shaped odly , needs shading the neck is to small for the head or reduce the head because shoulder to shoulder is about 2 heads wide if you are doing shading i suggest 3b for the darker areas you need to add creases to the clothing.
Hey flower child! OK, so I draw anime too, and I'm going to try this. I'm afraid your very disproportional. I do this a lot too, and I would recomend you look at some videos on it.(I have friends who tell me if i'm disproportional, if you have those, turn to them. Your head is too big and pointy, and the features look lost in it. This is anime, people have big, pretty eyes. They are well done, and pretty, but small, and once again, seem lost. The nose, mouth and ears seem very good to me. The shoulders are too small, and looks awkward with the thick neck and big pointy head. The hair is too solid. You should not make it one block, with lines inside and a bunch of zigzags at the bottom. Try multiple "blocks" or even just lines. Lastly, try some shading, it would look more realsitic, remember, this is anime, they have realistic qualities. HOMEWORK: Look up Hagumi Hanamoto, Nana from +anima, Tohru Honda, and Haruhi Suzumiya. This may help you with anime and realistic proportions and drawing styles I hope i'm not being mean, and please don't be mad at me. ~Abby

Hey Flower! Anyways, I'm looking for a review, and found you, so here goes. I like the way you do your eyes. The proportions are a little off, though. I know anime proportions are weird, but the placement is off too, which makes it look a little odd.
The entire face seems to curve slightly downward and to the right, and if you trace your finger straight from between the eyes, it does. So leveling out the face would be a good idea, as well as shaping the face a little more so that it looks as though she has a jawbone. you should raise the mouth a little bit, and make the nose a little larger, then coloring in the shadow so that it doesn't appear as though her nose is sideways on her face. With most anime, it may look as though their nose IS sideways on their face, but you'll also notice most of it is colored in black. That would be because it's a shadow. I would also suggest roundng out the top of her head a little more and making her eyebrows more like eyebrows and less like a line. Her neck is also too thin, which would look better if she had shoulders, or y'know...you thickened the neck a smidge. Her hair looks like you made it by - and you probably did - jaggedly drawing a line at the bottom and coloring it in, which never looks right. Try to make it so that individual sections of hair are visible. That is all, hope I helped! ~Annie
