"Heartthrob lost his touch?"
"22 year old heartthrob Drew Brandon doesn’t seem to be living up to his reputation as "The Heartbreaker" these days. In fact, sources say he has been single for almost a year since his break-up with singer Jenna Harper. Drew is said to have earned the nickname "The Heartbreaker" when in 2006 he dated eight Hollywood starlets in succession, and had a brutally public break up with each one. Brandon, who is not only the front man of the chart-topping band Violent Epiphany, but is also an Academy Award winning actor, is currently working on recording a new album with the band, and finishing up filming for the new movie he’s starring in; "Pirates of the Atlantic." Maybe this uncharacteristic behaviour is just an effect of his busy work schedule, or maybe his days as "The Heartbreaker" are over for good."

That was it. Only one small article a t the bottom of the "Where have they gone?" section of the newspaper. No feature article on the new CD - the first single was set to be released in two weeks- or the movie. Not even an article about him going to a charity fundraiser or getting a parking ticket.
Drew put the newspaper down on the desk. His agent, Kevin Atkins, stared at him from across the table.
"As you can see, the media and the public are losing interest. We need to come up with some sort of publicity stunt to increase sales on the movie and your new album."
Drew stared back, with his chocolate brown eyes that had been described once as "whirlpools" - deadly to any girl foolish enough to lose herself in them. "I'm well aware of that Kevin, but what exactly do you propose we do?"
Kevin grinned. "I think I might have an idea."
Drew leaned forward. "I'm listening."

Anya balanced six salad plates and two bowls in her hands as she walked back to the enormous kitchen of her stepfather's LA mansion. Anya put the plates down on the counter where they would be in easy reach of the dishwasher, Paul. She pushed open the doors to the dining hall, once again amazed by the sheer size of the room. What seemed like hundreds of tables were spread out across the room, which looked like a professional - someone who made more in an hour than Anya did in an entire year - had decorated it. In fact, it could have almost been a wedding reception - minus the bride and groom of course.
"Anya!" She turned around to find her adorable 25-year-old stepbrother, Jake.
"Jake!" She hugged him tightly.
"How's the catering going?"
"Good. I found out that I have a natural talent for balancing plates."
"I can't thank you enough for doing this - now I remember why you're my favourite stepsister." He ruffled her hair affectionately. Anya rolled her eyes - as far as she knew, she was his only stepsister.
"It's not like I'm doing this for free or anything. Besides, how hard could it be to find someone else to do this for you - especially at your rates." Jake had promised to pay her 50$ an hour. Anya suspected that this was his way of giving her money without being too obvious (which of course it was anyway), but she let him hire her as money was something she never seemed to have enough of.
"Well there might be plenty of applicants, but no one gorgeous enough - that's why I hired you." Anya hit him lightly on the arm. Jake was such a flatterer - that was part of the reason girls went so crazy for him.
"You'd better go; I don't want to hog you the whole night. Besides, it looks like there are quite a few ladies over there trying to catch your eye." Anya pointed to a table across the room where several young women were batting their eyelashes desperately over at Jake. "Seriously though, do people even do that anymore?"
"Do what?"
"Bat their eyelashes. I thought that was like, only the fifteenth century."
"Apparently not." Jake grinned, and headed towards the table, much to the delight of his little fan club.
Anya collected three more plates and a bowl, and was just heading back to the kitchen when her phone rang. She rushed into the kitchen, dropping the dishes on the counter, and whipped out her phone.
"Hello?"
"Hi, this is Kevin Atkins. I'm calling about your audition for "Eclipse" Anya's heart leaped. This was it; had she finally gotten a part? She was a little confused as to why she was receiving the call directly, and not through her agent, but she was too excited to think clearly.
Anya, like thousands of other young hopefuls was an actress in LA. Well more like; Anya, like thousands of other young hopefuls was TRYING to be an actress in LA. So far she hadn't had much luck - this was her first call back.
"We'd like to offer you a... special role. Come to my office tomorrow at eleven o'clock and I'll explain everything. See you then." He hung up the phone without waiting for her answer.
