Okay, so this is the second picture and the last picture I'm posting today. The concept came from LaReina's 'Le chateau du seul' storybook. There is a story behind this which I shall explain shortly.

Image

Okay so the boy on the left has his eyes gorged out. He is like this because it shows he is blind to the truth around him and he is being manipulated as shows the corkscrew in his back. Basically he's a stuck, wind-up doll. The girl on the left is the manipulator, as her smile and uncovered gorged out eyes show. They are gorged out because she is blind to the fact that she is hurting him by keeping him there. They are also stuck because of their blindness and how they are stuck in a neverending circle as the cobwebs show they have been there for awhile.

I was considering naming it 'The Manipulaters are often Manipulated' but I didn't think it sounded very flowing.

Tell me what you think I should fix up and your opinions and I will love you forever! Be really harsh and I will love you forever and give you a cookie!

I love the imagery explanation behind it all, and it's a very good picture besides. ^^

The only things are the arms on the side furthest away. They both look too long and rather shapeless, but it's especially obvious with the boy's arm. I've got no idea how you could correct it, but it does rather spoil the picture. Maybe have it more sharply crooked, so it reaches further up? But make it shorter. With the girl's arm, it's the lower part; it bulges the wrong way so it looks crooked, or as though she's got some weird freaky muscle development in the wrong place.

Also, the hands. It looks as though both the boy and the girl are sticking things into the other's hand. Are they, like, spikes growing backwards? :?

And the cobwebs between the boy's legs. Maybe you could find somewhere else to put them? :P

I love the curve of the boy's boots. :D

I like this but I will review it.

Ok, first of all the lady's face looks like a dinosaur sorta. Haha it's her nose I think.

On the dress I love it, but it is a little to low for the body type.

The girls hair is a little stiff, but does that matter?

Besides those things I love it.
My reality comes to a close as I once again realize that you don't love me, and even if I love you with my everything you will never care.

Oh, I also forgot to say that they are pinned together at the hands.. wups. I knew I was forgetting something! Thank you TL.

And thank you both for the wonderful reviews. I will definitly somehow try to fix it.. although I did draw it rather darkly... maybe I'll redraw it! :D.

Nice symbolism and a good explanation. You are obviously very good at this. Generally this is very good. I don't have much bad things to say but i don't want to poor useless praise all over you. Quite nice anime style, although the proportion is a little questionable this is probably due to the style. I'm quite fussy about hair, yours need more definition more dark and light, more highlights, Anime hair is always amazing. A little more detail over all would be good, the general shapes and out lines are quite perfect. You should work on her arms, they are not up to starch, to thin, Her neck is also a little short but this is probably just me. You need to work on your draftsmanship and your control of shadows and depth, maybe do a little cross hatching practice.

But seriously this is fantastic! great work, i really had a hard time giving this a proper review.

Wow! Love the meaning behind it.

The details you add to your drawings is incredible! (I reviewed your other drawing on here.) The girl is beautiful and the guy, even though I can't see his eyes, I am finding him very attractive.

The hair is great and the clothes are beautiful! What happened to the girl's hands though?

Keep up the fantastic work and let me know if you need anything else reviewed! I'd love to do it. :)

Aloha and Hola!

All righty, I'm gonna hit the ground running with this critiquing thing :)

Overall? Loved it! Especially the story behind it, great meaning yadayadaya. But you've heard that already now haven't you? I agree with Flower~Child 'bout the nose. It's sticks out a lot and changes her face so it's like... masculine? I don't really know what I'm trying to describe here but the main point is that the nose sticks out a lot.

ONWARDS! What's the story about the swords pinning the hands together? You mention it but don't really explain it... unless that post is gone now? I know, I know... I'm a little bit late on critiquing this :| But I'd really appreciate it if you told me the story behind the hands!

Most people have already said stuff about the girls's arm so... I'll just skip that! But I definitely agree with them!

SUGGESTION! (<= ha, do you like how I start my phrases with an exclamation??? :| ;)) I noticed that the guy's clothes are a little bit scruffed up. You know, holes and stuff. Maybe you should make the girl's clothes like that also? Mainly to emphasize the point that they've been there for a long time.

That's really it... great job and hope you keep on drawing even more than you do right now! Cause you just know that I'll be there to review it :D

This is amazing. (Probably doubly so for me, as Chateau is probably - to this date - the best SB I've ever been in and I was very upset to see it die. Yay Chateau!)

SO - Now I'm going to actually review this. :D

The folds of clothing are fantastic (especially on the man's sleeves and the girl's inner skirt!). Really fantastic - I can hardly ever get anything to look remotely that good. Overall, I think you got the man's proportions really well! And really, the girl's proportions are good as well. The only thing that bothers me about her is the left arm, which looks oddly - reversed? I suppose that must be it: Her arm tapers down to the shoulder and swells toward her hand, but it should be opposite.

Really, though, I feel like you captured the 'clockwork' feel of this drawing really well. Their motions seem to have an angular quality that (for me) really heightens the effect. As for symbolism? NICE. I can really see parallels between this and the SB. The drawing really feels like Chateau.

Awesome, awesome, awesomeness! Yay you!
