I've decided to re-write twilight because I feel it has way too many cliches. So I need your help to list all the cliches and things that bug you about twilight to make it better.

Here are a few things that I've thought of:
1) All of the Cullens are beautiful, fast, strong, smart...
2) The Cullens never run out of money
3) They are all nice
4) Bella is annoyingly clingy to Edward and is ridiculously spastic
5) Jacob falls in love with Bella (Best Friend/Best friend = over used)
6) Bella is delicious to all vampires
7) Edward can't hear Bella's thoughts
8) Almost all of the Cullens have a special power
9) All of the Cullens have a mate (eventually)
10) Edward is perfect and is a gentlemen ALWAYS

So if anyone can add to this, please do!

I'm a bit bugged by the idea of an "angsty" vampire.

No offense to anyone who writes about angsty vampires, but here's my two cents: IF I became a vampire and got all those powers, I wouldn't be whining about having to kill people. I mean, yeah, I might be a bothered by it, but hey, there are blood banks now, right? I can drink without having to kill. xD

Also, I'd be thrilled with my new powers and will start plotting my plans for world domination. xD
"The moral of this story, is that if I cause a stranger to choke to death for my amusement, what do you think I’ll do to you if you don’t tell me who ordered you to kill Colosimo?“

This should be on the list, cliche or not:

Well, I've never read Twilight, but one particular thing that I know about bothers me: How does an undead... creature get a human pregnant? Just the science of it baffles me, unless these vampires aren't supposed to be dead, but rather just really awesome humans who suck blood?

Anne Rice = attractive, tortured, rich, gentleman vampires done right.
A single plum blossom, then another, opening one by one.
And the first plaintive notes of the bush warbler’s song.

Its the limited volcabulary that bugs me the most.

Surely there is another word for dazzled? Or another way to describe edward's voice than velvet. Or another colour than topaz for his eyes. And another way to say that the liquid gold of his eyes suddenly hardened/froze when he gets angsty? A chapter of Twilight is not complete without reference to Edward's eyes.

You can't be a writer without even playing with the Word thesaurus.

And I'm with Kikuyo, Breaking Dawn is icky

-How Edward it soo attached to Bella, and vice versa.
-How Bella describes Edward as "Perfect" and "Beatufitul," yes, he is a vampire, but he has to have SOME flaws.
-How often Meyers mentions how "Cold" or "Icy" Edward's skin is. He has no blood. Alright, we get it.
-How there's two other couple of vampires that are sort of family, but are couples. Emmett and Rosalie, Jasper and Alice.
-How Bella doesn't do much with normal people. I don't care how cool vampires and werewolves are, put in some human interaction.
-How Edward has no blood, yet can get an erection and impregnant Bella. Simply does not make any sense.

I agree with Sureal. These aren't cliches. They're just things that bother you about the book.

1. How you have a overly happy ending. Everything is perfect and happily ever after. C'mon, not everything can be perfect. ):

2. Bella is basically described as really pretty and almost like a vampire (with the exception of clumsiness) BEFORE she's changed. Not everyone has movie-star looks. Apperance wise Bella has no flaw as a human. If you think about it.

So, basically, Twilight is a cliche.

Right?

You're going to try and write Twilight with no cliches? Ummm... Good luck with that.
The last book was a mistake. I won't acknowledge it as a book. I REFUSE. Happy endings are not real. Sorry for the pessimistic outlook, but...
A writer isn't only able to write a book, they are also able to end it. They do not release another filled with their disgusting fantasies in hopes of raking in more cash. Urgh.
Right, rant over.
It is instant - their love. Jeez, the "just add water" type really doesn't exist. Much. *shrugs*
I hate how she's just glossed over it too! Immortality is horrible! All your loved ones die. All you links that keep you connected to the world gradually disappear... Urgh. She just missed that point out! I think she did... I haven't read it in a while...
I think that most people hate Twilight - with a little help from Stephanie obviously - because it's just over-talked.

Cliche: she arrives hating the town and wants to move back, then at the end she loves it and doesn't want to leave. Well, I think it's one.

Anne Rice is the goddess of Vampire stories. Not Stephanie. ANNE RICE! She understands her characters brilliantly. Amazing.

Grr.
Your = Possession. Your shoes are so sweet!
You're = Omission. You're quite strange...

If you are confused about which to put, simply say in your mind "you are" and see if that fits the sentence. If not, you are looking for your.

the fact that edward is so protective of bella, for once if would be nice if he didn't give a toss :)

I found it was original, it was just so overly and badly done that it made it cliche and everything related to it cliche.

And that is probably what bothers me the most. The fact that now anything that comes close to it is considered "cliche" or "twilightish".
It just ruins things for authors.
