Hello! :D
First of all, I wanted to say that I like this picture. I love how the grass is all around it, and the flowers on the rock. So I’ll just add a bit of my opinions.

1. The bud of the rose is out of proportion with the rest of it. (There’s not much you can do about that, though.) The leaves on the rose are bigger that the bud and the stem is kinda long. I think it would look better if the top of the rose was bigger.

2. When you have it in this color, the bud looks kinda like a black blob. I takes away some of the detail.

3. I’m not sure if I like the petals scattered like that. That doesn’t happen naturally. I think it would look a bit better if they were closer together or farther apart. (This is just my opinion, though. :) )

Also, I’m curios, what does this look like in full color?

Any who, that’s about it. This is a lovely picture. I look forward to seeing your future work!

So long,
-Y

Compositionally this is rather lacking. The focal point is lost because of the surrounding grass and other such things. There is so much busyness in the surrounding are that it is detracting from the rose. I like the black and white, but there needs to be more contrast because everything is very similar in shade and it needs to be either a little darker or a little lighter perhaps.

I like the concept, I just the composition isn't working with the idea behind it. My opinion. Take it or leave it.

Very nice photo :)
However, it's true that the scattered petals look a little too.. arranged, not careless enough. In nature, they would be all over the place because of weather, etc.
Beautiful concept though.
Oh and also, before you post it on here, you should make the picture a little smaller, because scrolling back and forth to take a look at the rose kinda' ruins the effect, you know.
But I love the concept, and the black-and-white thing is very nice. It almost looks sort of sepia.
Not a shred of evidence exists in favor of the idea that life is serious.

I think my favorite thing about this photo has to be the black and white filter. It's not a plain one like a gray scale, it is a lot more noticeable and makes the contrast between the rose and the pavement strong, which makes for a great effect!

I have to agree with everyone else about the business and about how the rose petals are scattered. It looks arranged, unnatural, and too "random", but by that I merely mean it has no significance to it. If a rose was really falling apart, they'd be closer together, more on top of each other - and instead it clearly looks like you arranged it, which kind of ruins the effect.

But I am still totally in love with the filter!

I really like the sepia in this picture. However, like my peers have said, the petals do not look natural. The grass takes away from the picture, but that's just my opinion. Overall, this is a nice photograph, but a bit of tweaking can make the next one even better! :D

Thank you everyone for the reviews! I really appreciate them!

As for the size of the picture, that was a bit of a mistake :-P

The rose is a dried rose and I didn't take the pedals off myself, they just fell off so I can't really do anything about the size of the rose.

Yeaaah, I guess the petals do look arranged, which I was trying to avoid, oh well! The next dried rose picture you see will be better :-P

Personally, I didn't really like the normal color picture as much as the sepia.

Thank you all for your opinions :D
