This is an idea me and RidersOfDamar came up with, based off of the movie Death Race.
The United States of America, 2012: The imprisoned population is so vast that private companies are hired to contain them. In Final Providence Prison, "Dead-man's Wonderland", a gladiator-like fight-to-the-end competition, is held to raise funds. Death Row inmates engage in an epic battle spanning large city like areas where they kill each other in an effort to reach a safe room on the far side of the map.
Each battle is fed live over the internet and television to the public who pays to see the game from the view of their favorite contestants. To them it is just a game, something they use to entertain themselves and keep their minds away from the desperate situation they are in.
To the inmates, it is a bitter battle for survival. The terms given to the inmates entering the games are this: live through five games, and you gain your freedom. This offer is not given to everyone, only those who will give the best show and last the longest are allowed into the games, and the others just have to survive the contestants when they aren't busy killing each other. The only thing keeping the inmates alive is their resourcefulness in combat, their ingenuity in designing their weapons, and the help of their Watchers, the person who guides the inmates through the death zones.
You will play prisoners on Death Row that were wrongly imprisoned and are now trying to get out and claim your freedom, and possibly get revenge on the way.
RULES OF DEAD-MANS WONDERLAND
The contestants have several tools at their disposal. The matches are held every week, and in the time between they work. They have a team of engineers that they can work with to make weapons, armor, tools etc., anything that will give them an edge. Every contestant is also assigned a Watcher. The Watchers talk to them through a head set, and give them valuable information on how to navigate the map and get to the end.
The maps, or Dead Zones, themselves change every game. They are always very large, sometimes 25 square miles. The terrain varies from city to forest to mountains. The safe room is in the center of the Dead Zone, but slightly hidden. Vehicles are scattered across the Dead Zone; they vary in style from little cars, to large cars with mounted guns.
MY RULES
-Each contestant must obey all rules of the prison at all times when they are not in the game. The prison is surprisingly free form. There is a cafeteria, the engineering room, the mess hall, the lawn and then the living quarters. You can be anywhere at all times for the simple reason that you have a collar on your arm that can be triggered and incapacitate you at any moment. The collars are removed at the start of each map and put back o after it.
-Your character must be above 21 and can not be squeamish. They have to have some back ground that would make them ideal for the games. I want a balance of male and female.
-You may have relationships, but it would be strange and very interesting.
-Do not God Mod.
-Obey all other YWS rules.
-This is rated R, so you can cuss, and you can describe violent sequences, but keep in mind that we do have some younger members, so don't be too visual.
-While the game is in progress you can not leave the map. You will be shot if you try.
