Who’s Going to Write?
Who’s going to write
For the lost ones
The ones who disappeared
The ones who fear
The weak, the crying
The ones who need a cure
Who’s going to write
I know I am
My pencil and I are tight
But who’s really going to write
For the ones who can’t read
The ones who forever bleed
But seriously
Who’s really going to write
Who’s going to take the time
To love everyone
And try and change a life
Who’s really going to write
For the ones who lost to death in a fight
For the ones who were born into poverty
The poor, the ones who wait weeks for a meal
I would just like to meet someone real
Someone who would really care
Someone who has love, just to share
Someone who would take on new burdens to bear
It just seems so fake
So unreal
That we live knowing an infant likely died
Because they had nothing else to do but cry
For help, for love, for food, for a chance to even live
It kills me inside
Because I’d gladly switch, and let them live mine
So when I ask you
Who’s going to write
I’d hope you take initiative
Grab change by the hand
Because we need more
Even Obama supports the war
Are you going to write?
