1. I write as I go. To me it's easier and it makes it more fun and interesting to me.

2. I never have an outline. I've never liked doing them it's just not for me.

3. I write as much as I want, but normally I wont edit until I'm done with everything.

4. Again I just write it. I writing on paper first and a big novel for me is 90-150 pages. Well, that's my longest on normal paper so far.

I'm an experimenter. I'll write about three pages of one story, take what I like out of it and leave the rest. My computer is cluttered to the brim with first drafts and unfinished stories. Maybe I'm not focused, but it's the way I work. Don't be afraid to cut out ideas and add in new ones as they come along. (But don't go overboard with it either).

The heart of any story is the characters. I'd study your characters closely and figure out their hopes and fears, their strengths and weaknesses. Then batter them with every dilemma and problem to keep them on their toes, make them shine, bring out their inner selves.

Always write in a place where you feel comfortable, preferably where others won't bother you. Writing a novel takes a lot of perseverance, and you can't have stress or demands getting in the way.

I don't ever write outlines, but I like to have rough idea in my head where this story is going to go before I start. I like to know the start and the ending before I write. I don't have to know all the middle details yet, as long as I know where I want to end up in the end.
