Hmm, I haven't been writing for a long time. At least, not stories. I only got an interest around 3 years ago.

I found that as I got older I thought more and more about a lot of things, and I needed to put them down somewhere. Then there's the art of putting those thoughts in imagery, instead of a plain idea pointed out like that. That's where stories and poems come in. You speak your mind to your heart's content, but still not everyone will have understand how you truly feel. It's up to you. That's the beauty I find in writing.

I write because it makes me happy and lets me truly succomb to the strangee worlds that reside in my imagination :). I've been writing since I had the ability to put pen to paper and I love it.

I write because...I write. No writing is like no breathing for me. I just have to do it.

I write because I love it. Because there is something magical in a blank page, something beautiful and solid and blessedly permanent in ink. Because characters are a joy and because some plots just make demand that you jump up and write them immediately.

I've been writing since before I could string a proper sentence together. I guess I write because I'm good at it, because it's different to the talents that most other people have and, of course, because I love it.

Oh, and in hopes of one day getting published, but that's a long way off.
*Don't expect to see me around much in the next couple of weeks. School has started again, and it'll be a couple of weeks before I've settled in. If you've asked me for a critique, you will get it, but not for a little while. Sorry*

I write because I love it, I have been writing since i could spell and when I turned twelve I wrote my fist novella, it was about 120 pages, but sadly i had saved it onto a floppy which i lost shortly after. But it is my ultimate goal in life to have a published novel, my first will hopefully be Endless Secrets, a dark fantasy romance, that hopefully will become a series.

By the way I noticed someone asked about magazines, there is one call Fantasy and Science Fiction that will publish short works, and of there is the Writers Digest which i find most helpful.
Always and forever an endless secret...

I've always written because it has just come so naturally to me. And like everyone else in this world I want to do something that will get me recognition as an individual. Since all of my teachers praised my stories and poetry I've just kept doing it. Someday I'd like to be published...Now if only I could finish a story!
I am not addicted to reading, I can quit as soon as I finish one more chapter.

I write for the same reason I love making music. In my mind, they go hand in hand. They both come from the same spot: a hole in my heart that's filled when I empty it into my trumpet or onto paper. On days it's empty, I switch off filling it with music and words.

Yeah, that probably sounds corny. But I don't know how else to describe it.

Writing gives you a break from the stresses and strains of modern everyday life. It empowers you to make a contribution to the wider world, to speak out against social problems when politics is powerless. It gives voices to the unspoken stories that colour our lives and allows us to share in our experiences of humanity and the human spirit.

But most importantly of all, it's FUN!!! :D :D :D

I write because it's my words that I can't say. In a way, my thoughts become my stories and the things I've never said that I wish I could become lines in my newest creations. Characters are friends or different sides of me. I started in fifth; I still do it. Plus, it's something for my friends and me to do.

I write because I don't know any other way to get through! If I didn't have words as a release, characters who coudl deal with situations far more effectively than I could in my own strength, I just don't quite know what would happen to me. Is that deep or jsut disturbing? I write my novels because they have become a part of me, but I have to see them published because they have taken years of my life now and there has to be an end. If I can soemhow help other people through that, then yay!

I have never wanted to do anything but be a writer. Yeah, there was an art school phase last year, and I did get kinda obsessed with ER and decide "right! I shall become a doctor llike Abby Lockhart!" but I come back to this every time. It's kind of like a basic function.

I write because it's impossible for me not to write. I've wanted to be a writer since I was 7 years old, and have never been able to convince myself otherwise. Writing is an unyielding passion I have, and often it is the only thing that keeps me going when times are hard and I feel like a failure at everything else in life. God has given me this passion and gift to be developed, and I will try my hardest to make the most of it.

I started writing stories when I was 6-7 because it was fun to write and it entertained me.

I then moved over into poetry because it was more about expressing how I was feeling rather than writing a story or a book about other characters, which is a little less personal. I found that poetry was a way for me to put my thoughts on paper and forget how angry/upset/annoyed I was.

Then I fell in love with music and it was a way to combine the poetry with the music. I'm still new to songwriting though and I think I have a long way to go in it. I do focus primarily on writing songs now. Anytime I sit down to write a poem, it ends up turning into a song. Somehow.
