Now quite a few of these are raw sketches done straight with a ballpoint. There's one thing I'd like you to bear in mind please: I'm terrible at people and in all likelihood have seen anything you may review, though please do as I may have missed soemthing (there's more?!).

Also, I did these straight to pen, and, all the humans have a bar across their face from the circle I base the face off, so there's no need to go 'eh?!' when you see those. Anyway.

Image

First up we have a bookworm, or as Harp calls them, Bookwyrms. This one's very old, at least a hundred years, considering those horns. Most have mere ruffles of feathers. They have snake like bodies with very smooth scales, and gradually go from a formless face, to a snake face, to a draconic face like this. These exist in Biblios, the realm that exists by the power of Writing. They devour Ink, that is 'life force', and actual book ink. They prefer the former and if they get enough they split and divide and make MORE mayhem. They cannot starve.

Image

This guy's from the same world, Great Drake Arimadax. He's actually a deep wine red, and rather friendly. He causes Summer in Biblios by literally setting the sky on fire, or so it appears, and is considered the antithesis to 'the Goddess' and is associated with bad things.

Image

This is 'Lyrgus', one of the 'metal norns'. They're basically robots created by this thing, Erorokkr. Anyway, this one's the aerial combat unit. he has thin grey flesh stretched over his frame - the first semi-organic robot of their group of three, and the youngest. He's from Maerinn, the Ever Trail's world, but he exists after I stop wrting the series so you won't meet him. Note: Please don't critique Lyrgus. It's very old and is only here for display purposes, I'm aware of the many faults, but if you were going to, thank you anyway!

Image

This is the human version of 'Lyrgus'. Erorokkr got bored and gave the three metal norns a human form. That thing on his face is a muzzle. He has it because they started off as my having fun designing things for no reason, then decided to make them actually exist. Lyrgus has that characteristic jaw, so he had to have that muzzle. Now, to explain, I came up with this. In brooder (Mechanical uterus) he wasn't formed entirely correctly. He er. Had no jaw. Erorokkr formed a metal replacement and shoved it in (it would grow with him as the norns can craft metal from seemingly nothing). The only problem was, when enraged, he did this... thing... where he dislocated his jaw and the skin from his lip to his ear would just tear open, as if he were preparing for a transformation that never came. In order to avoid his jaw falling out, that muzzle was created to pin it in place with enough room to move, but not dislocate and snap off.

Image

Please click this one. The guy with two angles is firstly an adult Amalgos, then a slightly younger Amalgos. The girl is Namaigas. She's stupid. Then there's Lyrgus too. That's all three of the metal norns as given humanoid forms. Namaigas has metal frames over her arms that emulate her crazy tank strength as her robot-dragon form, Amalgos' goggles give him vision properly as he has really bad, blurry vision and can't see right. They give him a headache though as they were designed for scanning, not seeing through, and he was given them as an afterthought when he kept bumping into things.

Image

This is me getting bored and doodling. It's just a silly little scribble of a 'chibi' of Irrithis Revon, a character in the Ever Trail, one of the main ones. I'll say no more.

Image

This is a much older doodle of Foike and Hermes. Foike's the lady, Hermes is the gun that's grinning madly. Hermes is sentient. Hermes is always happy. Hermes scares me. Basically, when he's about to fire, he, erm, grins? To bare his muzzle. Creepy as heck. Those things there are handles that are arms, and when irritated with Foike he will flail them so she can't get a grip. Foike left her old life behind when the Ephemere called her, and simply took Hermes, and left, never looking back. She's very friendly, but incredibly stubborn, but a good trait that come sout of that is stubborn determination. Ignore the face, it's badly done and is just a filler, the focus is on her body.

Image

And here, my friends, is Captain Rage... Whose forename he forbids me to tell you! It's Ristip. Anyway. Just a doodle in class out of boredom. Just to give you the idea of how he looks - yeah that's a ponytail, haha.

Image

Please click this one, it's a big file. This is Lord Tolrin. I know his wings are small, the focus is on the head. I was practicing shading, even though I didn't draw any scales, duhhhhh. I did but they looked like feathers so I ERASED them, bwahaha!

Image

This is Marogareh in a weird pose like he's going to fall over. I ended up drawing him on top of maths notes, derp. Err. He was one of the flesh norns that Erorokkr made for lunch. That's why his arm is weird - it's missing. That's just a stump. Erorokkr tore it off for a snack then forcefed it to Toboe, the other one. Marogareh escaped and I forgot to draw his manacle on, because he got captured by humans and tied up, then almost died from an infection caused by the bleeding stump of his arm. They saved him though and he's quite gentle now, if moody often. He's hard to persuade to wear anything but a scruffy pair of trousers, because he doesn't like being constricted by clothing. It took them long enough to get him to wear pants. I intend to go over him and colour him digitally.

Image

Ah, who's this?

A background I made, it's very big. The ring thing is Graficcha's thing, it just inspired me to make one myself and put a person in it.

Closeup of the little guy in the centre. Sleep well!

That's all for now. I have some more doodles but I'm not giving anything away!

Very nice Schemilix. The explanations are very helpful.

I'd suggest going over the bookworm in pen. Right now, it seems that only the outer part of the bookworm is in pen, and it is a bit difficult to see the face of the bookworm. However, I like the way you drew the feathery parts. They seem a bit rigid, but it makes them look like little manes of horns.

Then, Arimadax. He looks a bit like a Bookworm, doesn't he? Is he one of them? I don't have much to say on this. He looks great!

Well, with the human Lyrgus the only thing is that the eyes look a little too large. And that he looks female. I'm sorry, but I thought he was a she when I first saw him.

There's really nothing about the next two drawings. I especially love Irrithis' wings. They seem so sparkly and really anime-ish.

Well, with Foike it seems as if she's too stiff. I don't think anybody would be that rigid if they were in that pose. And Hermes is a bit strange as well. I can't exactly see what's wrong with him because he looks a little smudged.

Then, Captain Rage. His face looks a little too long, but other than that, great work on him!

Lord Tolrin looks great. I love his head, especially his eye. He looks angry, and he's staring right at you. I love the effect. But, from what I can see, his body looks too skinny to be able to support his head.

I think Marogareh looks good. Just try to make his tail look a little bit more pop-out. Right now, it looks as if it doesn't belong to him and that it's just there.

The other person looks really good. I don't have much to comment, but I love the eyes. It's like a, "Why are you looking at me like that?" look.

The background is very simple, but very elegant. That figure in the middle is very intriguing. I love the shades of blue that you used and the way that everything fades lighter getting closer to the center of the circles.

Well, that's all the commentary I have for now. These are great, but I have to say that I like the 'chibi' Irrithis the most. I'm not too fond of Foike and Hermes, but you can still draw very well. Keep sketching!
There once was a cat.
He wasn’t particularly fat.
Fuzzy was his favorite mat.
And really, that was that.

Oh, but did you really think so?
Keep reading, it’s just the start of the show!
And as for how far this tale will go…
Well, even the cat doesn’t know.

Some of these are really good. I love sketching characters from my stories. It's really fun... So here's your review.

Number One:
Cool idea. The first one isn't much, so there's not a lot to say. It looks fine to me.

Number Two:
Nice! Where's his ears though? And the arch in the middle looks way too thick. Cut that down a bit to make his crown of horns more dramatic.

Number Tres:
Interesting. Very etchy. His wings are very oddly connected to his body, and his legs are a big jumble of random things. I don't blame you, it's a sketch. But what's the deal with the lines on his face?

Number Four:
The nose fits on sort of like a muzzle for dogs. I don't know if it's supposed to look like that, but it does. Oh I get it now. It is supposed to look like a muzzle. The guys face is too round to be masculine. Square it off a bit.

That's all I can get to tonight. But they're really cool. Love them!

Hi! I have to say these are some seriously cool pictures!

Your first two, bookworm and Great Drake Arimadax obviously look similar except from the face that Arimadax looks like a more detailed and revised version of bookworm. I know bookworm is supposed to have a formless face but there really isn't much going in with him/her, it just looks like an unfinished sketch.

I do love the human version of Lyrgus though, I think the face is very soft and feminine lol but you may want to re-vamp the face if it is suppose to be a guy!

I'm going to skip down to captain rage as I am rushed for time right now :P
He has a strong and angular bone structure and I do like that quirk in his eyebrow, it really does add expression in the picture but you want to try filling out the left side of his jaw a little more. (:

I love Lord Tolrin, he's a very strange creature- he reminds me of a Ram yet a dragony type of animal! Anyway, I think you need to add more detail to the eye to get that piercing kind of look and also, really emphasise the curve of his horn.

Marogareh guy looks a little thin to me- is this because he has been held hostage?
Again the left side of the jaw looks cut off, I think you should flesh this out a bit more.

I don't know who he is but the last one reminds me of a tribal fantasy creature. I love his large eyes and the fact his face does look quite proportionate here. However, His ear look drawn a little too far down south!

Overall, I enjoyed looking through your collection and I think you are a great artist (:

Keep drawing and PM me if you post more and I'll be sure to review!
Good Luck!

Hi there! I'm Kamas here to review.

These are quite interesting. I liked them quite a bit.

Picture #1:
It is interesting but I feel you should add to the face. I would think it would be more complicated and have some eyes.

Picture #2:
I like this one. I find the expression very funny. One suggestion though, the horn on its head seems a little bizarre. Removing the curl at the end may help.

Picture #3:
I thought this on was very good with a lot of potential. Though it is a robot, I feel the bars around its face take away from the picture. The wings are great though.

Picture #4:
The idea is interesting and original but I find the picture a little weird. Picture-wise the person's face is weirdly shaped and their eye is not proportionately sized.

Picture #5:
They are the same as the picture above. The faces aren't proportionate making them look bizarre.

Picture #6:
I love the wings. They're just marvelously done. I am terrible with wings and these look so nice. This is my favourite one.

Picture #7:
This picture is a bit of a mess I can't make much sense of it.

Picture #8:
This picture is much more proportionate then that other human pictures. The eyes are a bit uneven and the random circle around his face would be nice if it was removed. His neck is also a little weirdly shaped, necks do not angle like that.

Picture #9:
This is quite well done. Though he looks as if he is about to fall over and it looks a little weird without an arm I thought it was well done. I laughed when I saw the math notes around it. :D

Picture #10:
This face is well proportioned but his mouth is very small and a little low, and his ears are also a little too low.

Picture #11:
This one is very nice. I like how it is a coloured outline.

Very good job! I liked it. I hope I was helpful. Keep drawing!

Great job, Schemilix. I especially like Lord Tolrin, Chibi and Great Drake Armimadax. I love the way you shade in your drawings. Personally, the ones in blue do not impress me. great job and keep on drawing!
