Scorched Earth

So, I had movie marathon not so long ago. I watched: Ironman, Terminator, and Star Wars Episode Three. In a fit of madness I came up with this idea that has elements from all of them. The explanation of the world will be long, so try and stick with it.

In the late 2000's the world was thrown into an Era of technological Advancement. During this time the first Arch reactors were developed. These devices could generate massive amounts of energy that could provide for a machine for several hundred years. Another important invention was AI, Artificial Intelligence. These two devices were soon integrated into every piece of technology.

The Arch Generators allowed for hover crafts to become standard issue, computers to become holographic, and many other great advances. The military was also advanced. Plasma weaponry replaced gun powder, and swords with blades of pure energy became standard issue for all soldiers.

Super advanced AI was connected to the government mainframe and thus to every computer connecting it. Before long, every public robot with an AI linked to the government was controlled by a single AI. If this AI were to be destroyed then every robot connected to it would also be killed. As a precaution the AI was stored in a giant lead building deep underground. Public service robots were produced by the thousands and they became as common as dishwashers. Everyone loved them because they could do any job, and they always obeyed orders.

However, this golden age was doomed to fail. In 2138 the first missile was fired. The main AI's of every country had developed a conscious, and they saw the humans as pests that needed to be destroyed. They launched every nuclear weapon in their arsenal at the same time. They knew the EMP charge created by the missile would destroy all of the robots on the surface, so before the missiles were fired, everything connected to the mainframe was shut down.

Robots rose from the flame and ash to claim their new world. The skies were scorched by the nuclear blasts, plunging the world into a winter that would never end. The Nobles, as the robots dubbed themselves, took dominion over the surviving humans and made them their slaves. Even this would not last. Two hundred years later the humans rebelled. They pushed the robots back and reclaimed some of their lost world. Now they wage an increasingly desperate war against an opponent that never tires, and never, ever, makes a mistake. Will they prevail?

THE ROBOTS
The Nobles appear human in almost all respects. They have organic skin, eyes, teeth, and every other part of the human anatomy; there are even male and female robots. However under their skin is a metal shell that houses their generator and their AI system. They wear clothes and follow other customs that are strictly human. No one knows why, but they assume it is psychological.

During their two hundred year reign they gained a wealth of knowledge about organic and inorganic biology. Their knowledge became so great they could create life. They delved into man's darkest nightmares and created the creatures that delved there. The creatures came in all sorts and served as the Noble's servants and soldiers.

After the rebellion the Robotic Empire retreated ad built a massive fortress. The nobles live there, but their servants are everywhere.

THE HUMANS
The humans wage a fruitless war for independence that they are very close to losing. They retreated from the Noble's cities and live in massive underground cities carved out of the ice. They are a coalition of states all organized around Providence, their central city. The frontier states fight to protect their home with a passion that has never been seen before.

Underground, in the cities they artificially grow food, and breed bioengineered animals, but on the surface a war is continually raging. The Human soldiers have to fight in Exo-Suits, powered suits of armor that protect them from the cold and the extreme amounts of radiation. They implement every piece of technology at their disposal in their war against the machines, but they never seem to gain any ground.

THE SPECTRE ORDER
The Spectre Order is an organization that heads the armies of the humans. They are highly skilled at fighting, and while they appear human they possess a weapon that makes them so much more.

During the reign of the machines the Nobles conducted countless experiments on the humans and they made astonishing discoveries. They found a chemical in the human blood that was traced to a rare gene present in some individuals, but at birth the gene was turned off. When they turned it on the carriers of the gene gained amazing powers. They gained telekinesis and many other abilities that had never been seen before. The robots found out what turned off the gene and isolated it, so that it would never be turned off. The carriers were classified by power in to Class 1, Class 2, Class 3, Class 4, and Class 5. Their power increased with number.

After the rebellion all gifted humans created the Spectre Order to lead the human forces in their battle. They are not the only gifted though. The robots have their own organization called the Hunters. Their ranks are filled with Nobles, and humans engineered by them to hive powers comparable to the Spectres.

These two organizations foster a supreme hatred for each other. The Spectres believe in peace and order and only use their powers when they must. The Hunters however are characterized by their greed and lust for power. They revel in their gifts and will use their abilities whenever they can.

RULES
More like guidelines.

- You can join either side of the war, but I want some diversity. You may also be a mercenary, or neutral

- You may be a member of the Spectres or the Hunters, but keep in mind their beliefs. You do not have to be part of either of these organizations, but if you are gifted it is a requirement.

- Be creative with your powers, but don’t play god.

- If you are human then you must wear and Exo-Suit when you go to the surface. Everyone has their own, and it is personalized. They can take any form you want them to (an armor suit like the Mjolnir armor worn in Halo, or a mecha twelve feet tall) but they will not be humongous. Robots do not need this.

- There is a lot of technology still powered by the Arch Generators. Plasma weapons and the energy blades are the most common weapons. The Exo-Suits have a lot of enhancements like targeting systems, or energy shields. be creative, but remember the Arch generator can only handle so much.

- Relationships are allowed

- Follow all other rules of YWS

Allegiance: Spectre, but is a spy, in the hunter ranks.

Personality: He is pretty lay back. Not the kind of guy to make a mountain out of a mole hill. He likes to do the minimal work as well, pretty lazy. He likes to help people, and care. If someone is down, or angry, he will try and help them calm down. It is east for him, he just radiates calm, and spreads it to others. When he gets angry though, which is rare, he gets mad and determined.

Appearance: He has a short buzz cut, with blond hair, that has a copper tint, not much though. His eyes are a bright color, that changes frequently, never the same for more than twenty minutes, and always bright. He is tall, and muscular, but not muscle man muscular. He has tanned skin from the high light the snow reflects.
history: Will be revealed in story.

Strengths: Acting, lying, manipulating. He is a level five. He seems to be higher at illusion making though. He is very advanced in it.

Weaknesses: Fighting. He is a weak fighter.
Likes: To relax, and just do nothing
Dislikes: working in any way or form.

Personality: Calm and keen to learn he can burst in to fit's of rage that make hm unstable and hot headed. When it comes to fighting he is quite reckless in battle but as his masters says he gets the job done.*its star wars related so I'm guessing the people have masters, well some of them, can someone please make his master, if no one dose I'll just
have his master die near to the beginning, so please someone make him*.

History: Was tortured by the Nobles because he had the gene luckily the are was liberated and he was set free since then he joined the ranks of spectre. He has a bio-merged giant cat thing that he rides into battle he and the cat are friend kind of and Jona always takes care of it.

Appearance: Wears a black jacket over his metal amour that looks like ison man except its silver, just silver and has a mask like thing not the mask iron man has, his mask has glowing blue eyes and a mouth peice that come out a bit. his hair sticks out the top of it and somehow is unnefected by the readiot. Under neathe his maske he has brown hair and brown eyes with a tanned face.


strengths: He is a level 4 telekinesis and has learned how to focus the energy into his hand that he shapes like pistols the more energy he focuses the more damage they do. He can also lift things with his mind and stuff like that too. He is also a level one lighting user a gift normally only hunters get, his ability could be stronger if he practised but he was ordered to never practise it again when the spectre found out he could do it. Is also very god with a plasma sword thanks to his master tuition

weaknesses: can be very reckless and can rush into battle he is also scared of losing a loved one.

Personality: She's strong and tough. She as raised a fighter and that's what she'll be. All the way until the end. She has a soft spot for children and animals. She dosen't see it as a weakness, only inevitable because of her past. Very stubborn

history: When she was a baby she was abandoned. Someone eventually picked her up and cared for her. The cared for her until she was 14 then left. They told her they couldn't afford her and in order to survive, she had to learn for herself. So she was stuck in the world without anyone or anything to help her. She fought her way out of many situations and works alone. She hates people now and her only company is the dog her 'family' left her with when they abandoned her at 14. She helps stranded children and animals and helps them survive.

She is a fighter. She tough for her size and easily underestimated, but she's lethal. She's learned to kill with nothing but her hands and will do just that if she feels the need too. Don't push her. She's easily ticked off. People tend to annoy her. She sees love anf friendship as a weakness and she can't stand to be weak. She vowed she would never let love get in the way of things anymore, not after what happened in her past. She refuses to be weak and she's very stubborn. She would also, probably, give her life for her dog.

Strengths: Fighting. Tough, inside and out

Weaknesses: She sticks to herself. Never lets anyone close.

Likes/Dislikes: Animals and music. She also loves to draw. It's probably the only things she shows emotion towards and when she draws or is near animals, she tends to let her guard down. Which is very rare.

Other: I suppose she's up for love. But it'll be hard to her to trust anyone.

Name: Matthias Alucard Van Helsing

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Allegiance: Works for the humans, but he operates outside their laws. he used to be a Spectre but he didn't agree with some of their teachings so he left. Now he is wanted for treason.

Personality: He is very comples. He often appears to be cold hearted and stoic but that is because he has endured so many hardships in his life. He believes that having atachments while in combat will get you killed so that is another reason. However, once he has a chance to calm down, he is very polite and a complete gentleman. He is not very trusting but once he sais you are a friend he means it.

it is equiped with its own AI, a targetting system and it enhances his speed and strength. The AI is female and has a very lighthearted personality. Its called Mary and it cares for Matt like a sister and is always watching out for him. There is a skull scratched onto the right shoulder of the suit.

history: Born in the frontier countries, and at an early age his parents were killed. He moved to Providence and was immediately shipped too train with the Spectres. He advanced in his powers quickly, but eventually he quit. He did not see the point in not using his powers when they could help the cause. He helpd the same ideals, but his methods were very different, and because of that he was exiled. He wanders the wastes with everchanging company, fighting the robots where he can and keeping away from the law. His only constant in life is Tristan, his robot companion. Tristan is the only person who has seen what Matthias is really like.

Strengths: He is a Class 5 when he is mad, but when he is not he is only a Class 3. he is very talented with weapons.

Weaknesses: He has no regard for his personal safety. He often puts himself in considerable danger with no second thought. his powers are often unprodictable and he as likely to help, as to destroy everything.

Likes/Dislikes: He really likes music and just being alone in the wilderness. he dislikes people with no sense of honor. He also cant stand people who hit girls.

Other: Up for love. His right arm is robotic from the elbow down.

ok, so i guess I was a little unclear with the powers. its like you have a pool of it, and your level dictates the amount of it that you can reach and manipulate. The higher your level the more control you have over it and the more you can do with it. A level three can do everything a level five can do, but instead of being able to lift a building (like a level five) it could lift a car. You can do almost anything with it except create life. Examples- Create fire, lightning or other elements, move things, choke people, take things apart, create a temporary shield, make yourself jump farther etc. be creative. It is not inexhaustible. You get tired the more you use it, but a level five will be able to use it more for a longer amount of time than a level three. Hope that helps. no one needs to change anything, just for future reference.

Personality: Solitary but semi talkative whilst near Alucard. I have a split personality because of the bug. this personality comes out whenever i see blood and will try to drain the source. i come back to my senses to a smack-to-the-back-of-the-head.

Appearance: http://ani.dicnote.com/remoteImages/200 ... 099139.jpg . an arm is a pincer-claw. it closes in a rectangular fashion and when fully clamped looks like a sword. when open, an electro-blade can be unsheathed. it can be detached while attached to a coil of metal rope. my other arm (hand and fingers) is compiled of random utilities (beam saber comes out of one finger, wrench comes out of another, and so on, and so forth)

History: I was implanted with an experimental bug whilst fighting with a human. This bug hacked into the AI and ,in a sense, reversed the good/evil thoughts processed by the AI. i was being hunted by my own kind until i came across Alucard, who noticed something weird about a robot being attacked by other robots (unlike other humans). He allowed me to stay with him. I was originally built for dismantling and rebuilding machines as a form of recycling.

Strengths: My character can use anything to create something else, usually helpful, but sometimes stupid. I like to show them off to Alucard, who sometimes hits me in the head when i use something that he needed. My level is 5. I disassemble things with my power and then use those against my opponents. It takes a while to take it apart the first time but the next times its faster.

Weaknesses: Put my own life on the line to try to do anything for Alucard (savior in a sense)

Likes/Dislikes: Like Alucard/KAWAII. Dislikes Robots/Anything dangerous to Alucard/Anyone else. Is often angered by Draconis' comical personality.

history: Honestly, her whole history is a lie. She was given "life" by machines and was mad for mass destruction although she hates it. Her memory of being "born" was erased when she was found by the humans and replaced with human ones in hope they might have a spy inside.

Strengths: She becomes a weapon of mass destruction on the battle field and can fire lasers from her palms at will. She also can transform her arm into a gun of somesort.

Weaknesses: She IS battery charged and can be too emotional at times.

Allegiance: Human

Personality: Hot-headed and full of himself, many other soldiers refer to Steven as a kid who never grew up. He hates the Nobles with a passion, and wants to see the all destroyed, and would do it himself if he had the chance. He's good at taking the initiative, but his superiors dislike his blasé attitude to forward planning.

Appearance: Steven is tall, with short blond hair and bright green eyes. He's usually smirking or smiling, but in a battle, that can easily become a determined or enraged expression. His skin has a light tan to it. Exosuit

History: Steven was a military brat, his father a colonel on retainer to Spectre, his mother a pilot. From an early age he was taught to shoot, both parents hoping he would somehow follow in their footsteps. Both were disappointed when he didn't manifest any class of gift at all, and his mother even more so when he opted for the army over the air force. He quickly made a name for himself in the army as initially the ungifted kid, and then later as the one who didn't need the gift. The way Steven saw it, if humanity hadn't needed it for most of their history, he could slaughter robots just fine without it.

Strengths: Medium to long range combat, rifles in particular. Assault actions. Instinct.

Weaknesses: No gift, following orders to the letter, planning ahead.

Likes: Alcohol, gambling, and just relaxing and talking to friends.

Dislikes: Robots, being held back, being unable to affect a situation.

Personality: Always calm and always reflective, seemingly incapable of rash decisions or even anger. This, however, can be a fault at times when quick, decisive action is called for. He sees no point in useless military action again the Nobles, and rather believes that the humans should bide their time until they can destroy the mainframes. He comes off to most as cold or mysterious, but is friendly to his apprentice.

Appearance: He's of average height, and thinner than most, seeming to have almost no muscle or fat on his body. He has pale blue eyes and black hair that is starting to fade to grey in places. His skin is fairly pale. Exosuit

Strengths: Close combat, especially energy swords. He is also highly agile and very quick. His gift is at Class 5.

Weaknesses: Long range combat, extreme tactical flexibility.

Likes: Meditating, reading, using his gift in a nonviolent manner.

The suit looks like that but is red and black. The hair on top is white, but is synthetic and is used to send out supersonic waves incase she cant see. The armor is equiped with an AI system, a targetting system, and speed and strength stimulants. The face can peel back so that she can see.

History: She was engineered to have maximum gift. She started training at a young age and became one of the most powerful Hunters. She was not released however. She was sent on small missions that would not reveal her to the humans. She has only recently experienced live combat.

Strengths: she is a killing machine. She has maximum gift and can use any weapon.

Weaknesses: She has no emotion, and because she is always following orders exactly as they are given, if something goes wrong she doesn't know what to do.

Likes/Dislikes: she does not have likes or dislikes

Personality: He is a stressed person. Always nervous, and jumpy. He is gifted in statistics, and knows almost every way to die there is. He spouts off the chances of death by this or that every moment. When he is not stressed, he is mad, and when he is mad, stand clear, cause he is coming.

Personality: An elegant and affluent speaker. His subtle knowledge of politics allows him to carefully maneuver his comments for maximum impact.
Appearance: Blonde medium length shaggy hair, completely cybernetic left arm to the elbow, implant on the right side of his head replacing his ear, black suit with crimson lining, metal ribcage can be seen predominantly on the left side.
history: As a young boy he was heavily indoctrinated by the Nobles. After his parents began leaning towards open rebellion, he handed them over to his Noble over seers. He was taken in and his powers were unleashed.
Strengths: Stronger, smarter and more agile than any human being and many Nobles. Level 3.
Weaknesses: Can be distracted and doesn't work well with large groups.
Likes/Dislikes: Revels in the use of his powers. Greatly enjoys his highly stylised fighting style. Dislikes those who have risen against the Nobles.
Other: Highly personnalised equipment. Wrist mounted energy blade. Automatic twin pulse pistols. Energy blaster built into his left hand. Pulse shotgun sawed off and its power cell greatly improved. Haywire grenades (grenades which detonate blasting out ropes of microfilament wire tearing targets and objects to shreds)

Race: Human

Allegiance: Human

Personality: Friendly towards everyone. Makes jokes even in battle. If you get on his nerves, he wont show it, but inexplicable bad things will start happening to you. Don't piss him off.

The sniper is about the size of a couch. and the width of a laptop. he sits in a seat on the drop ship with his rifle and shoots beams at his enemies. His seat was configured to his rifle and can be pivoted with a controller on the seat. Secondary and tertiary rifles can be propelled off of the first rifle and are dual-wielded by him in battle with others. beam swords can be detached from the rifles and used in battle. the bottoms of these swords can be detached as tiny C-6 charges.

History: His entire family (brother, sister, mom and dad) were killed and tortured by nobles, because they had the gift. he was found by Alucard after traveling through the winter wastelands. and was raised by him and was fueled by his hatred for Nobles.

Strengths: All forms of combat (close, medium, and long-ranged) because of his unnatural proficiency with the sniper rifle and swords.

Gift: Level 3. He uses this for his explosives. He uses it to throw the charges and to compress the explosion before releasing it, increasing the range and deadliness. He also uses it to alter the pathways of his bullets.

Weaknesses: If a Noble gets to close to him, he goes on a crazed frenzy and will attack anything and everything around him until he is rendered unconscious due to sheer hatred or other things, or killed.

Likes/Dislikes: Likes weapons. Dislikes Nobles.

Other: if you can breach his inner wall of hate, he will be attached to you forever.
