I went to the well known english city before xmas. I discovered to roof Gardens at Liverpool One. It has some great opportunities for photographs. This is just one that I took. Let me know what you think.

Hey Pingu!

I have the Pingu theme as my ringtone! haha

Cool photo!

I love how the sun is in it. I know some people don't like it when the sun flares too much but I love it! I like the angle the photo is on, it kind of makes the photo more interesting and appealing to the eye. I also like that you managed to catch the outline of a person in the sunshine in the photo. Again this gives your photo more levels and makes it more dynamic and more visually appealing. One thing I would say that I don't like is the black bar thing at the top. It just cuts through the frame and makes the frame looks messy and doesn't really work well in the photo. Perhaps you could crop it out with a photo editing piece of software or something.

Good photo though! I hope you post more! :)

Hiya!

Angle: I found this angle made me a little seasick, actually. I have a hard time seeing what it adds to the photo, other then an effect.

Sun: It's a beautiful focus of this picture and creates some lovely shadows. I love the way it bounces off the railings, reflects in the doors, and highlights the openness of that building to the right. Nice work!

Overall: I found this a really hard photo to critique because of its angle. I kept feeling I had to turn my head to see things, when I feel the picture would have been stronger had you kept it vertical or horizontal.

Questions? PM me.

My cursor instantly flew to this thread the moment I saw its title.

Yes, you're lookin' at a Liverpool F.C fan here ;)

Anyhoo:
I'm afraid I didn't take a shine to this picture.
The blinding light in the centre kind of hurt my eyes XD
And the rest of the background was so dark that I could only make out a vague idea of the scenery. Clarity in such photos are better ;)
But I would advise you to listen to Rosey, 'cause I'm no photography expert.
I agree with her on the tilted angle though.
Apart from the building on the right, I didn't feel like there was a specific artistic focus in this photo; Something eye-catching, y'know? :D

Anyway, thanks for sharing the photo with us :D

Really Beautiful picture. I've been to Liverpool, and I think that this picture actually does capture the essence of what that place is. The sun makes for a wonderful image and somehow, you haven't got glare.

Even though the sun is the main thing in this picture, there are too many shadows around it to really tell what you're taking a picture of. The sun, in all it's radiance, is good, but lets see a bit of colour around the border where we'd like to see it.

Otherwise, it looks really nice. Good job.

When you walk up the steps to the gardens you loose your bearings a little because you don't expect to see gardens on the roof of a shopping centre. I wanted to share this feeling of "loosing your bearings", this is way the photo is on an angle.

I was trying to show all the redevelopment of this area and the sun was just an added bonus really. This has actually been entered into the Young Design Competition held at Leeds Met Uni and I'm just waiting to see if its been shortlisted.

Your reviews have made me see things in the photo I hadn't even seen. Thanks for that. I had some other photos that go with this so I may post them for you to check out and see if some of you like them better.

Thanks
Pingu

You're wrong about humanity. They are your greatest creation because they're better than you are. Sure, they're weak, and they cheat and steal and destroy and disappoint, but they also give and create, and they sing and dance and love. Above all, they never give up.
