Brystine

I groaned and rubbed the back of my head. What the hell had happened? I looked and saw I was thrown over an armored body. Apollo! And we were flying!

"You asshole!" I yelled. "Put my down now! I swear if you weren't a fire immortal I would burn you right now!"I yelled. Too bad he can't be burnt. I had to think of a way to get out of here. To get away from Apollo.

"We failed," he said simply. Almost as if he couldn't believe it.

"No. You failed. I had a plan," I replied. I was pissed. "I'm not going to argue with you about it. Put me down so I can finish what I started." He didn't do it. I narrowed my eyes. How to get out of this. I smiled.

"Shit! Look behind you!" I shouted. He quickly looked, shifting me to the side. I twisted out of his grip and started to fall. I let a burst of hot air carry me into the air and I flew off.

"Thanks for nothing asshole!" I shouted at him. I had a plan and it was going to work. I flew back towards Eliza and Martin. Rose and Drake were as good as dead.

Apollo:
He floated in the air looking as Brystine flew away.
"She's going to get herself killed,"
"She can't catch an air Immortal in flight."
He rubbed his head "No good. I'll report to the council."

Brystine

I dropped by Eliza's house. They didn't see me. They didn't hear me. They were sitting anxiously by the phone. I smiled. Good.

I walked by the back window and slipped in, unoticed. As always. I crouched between the couch and hallway, hidden from veiw. I grabbed the extra phone and waited.

I didn't wait long, it rang once and Eliza answered.

"Drake?" She asked. "Oh thank God!" That was my cue. I clicked on the phone and listened anxiously.

"Yes. Rose is asleep. I kind of had to...sedate her. She was freaking out. Let her sleep for a little bit. It's been a rough day. For all of us," Drake said quietly.

"Well where are you?" Eliza asked.

"Are you alone," he responded. "Make sure I'm not on speaker." Martin spoke quickly.

"MAybe we should let Drake handle this for a while. I just have this weird feeling. I don't think he should tell us yet."

I wanted to curse and burn him on the spot. I didn't. I had to be patient.

"That's ridiculous," Eliza said. "Go on Drake."

"I took her to the safe-house that the Light council members set up last year. The one near the beach."

"Great. We'll lie dormat a few days and then come help protect her," Eliza replied calmly. I smiled. Perfect.

"I think Rose is waking up. I'll talk to you later." Click. That was it. That was all I needed to hear. I slipped outside and flew. I wasn't going to tell Apollo, that's for sure. I was going to get the little bitch and finish what I started with Drake. It's time I ended his overly long life.

Martin

Eliza sat down on the couch, seeming content with the plan she and Drake had worked out. Martin, on the other hand, was already getting his jacket. She frowned at him, “What’re you doing? We’re meant to just be staying here for a while.”

He pulled it on and headed for the door, “I don’t like the plan. I don’t like how he revealed the safehouse’s location, either. We could’ve just gone from one to the other to try and find them. What if someone tapped the call?”

She gave a dry laugh, “Martin, you’re being completely irrational. How could anyone have been listening in? You’re way too paranoid.”

He filled a bottle of water from one of the still-leaking pipes, then froze a little of the water on the edge of each of them, making sure they’d stay shut for at least a few days. “Maybe, but we’re in a war now. They could’ve done anything. Hell, an air immortal could’ve even been listening in. I’m going to go check up on them now.”

She rolled her eyes, “Suit yourself, but if you’re wrong and you just lead them to it, the council’ll have your head.”

Part of him hoped his hunch was wrong. But another part actually hoped Apollo and Brystine would be there. He had unfinished business with both of them, and especially didn’t like it when people just flew off on him. It wasn’t fair.

"I hate this! I just simply hate it! All I want is a normal live without weird things happening in it. But no... I have to have a "gift". And now I am even being hunted, just because it slipped out of my big mouth that I know Drake!!" I murmured to myself.
I was running faster than I ever had.
The element water was such a unpractical thing. You couldn't do anything properly. You couldn't fly, You couldn't even put out a big fire properly!!!
I ran on although my lungs felt as if they would burst.
"I have to warn Drake and his new friend..." So I picked up speed.

*Rose*

I woke up with cool air caressing my face, and the feeling that I weighed nothing.

Was I high?

I opened my eyes only to look up into Drake's face. I couldn't help it. I screamed.

And accidentally made him drop me.

I guess I kind of surprised him. I didn't mean to, really, but as I plummetted to the ground, I couldn't help but think that it was a stupid move. As I got closer to the ground, something caught me. Drake again. This time, I wrapped my arms around his neck and held tight.

"Where are you taking me?" I asked him.

"Far away where Bristyne can't find you." he replied, not looking at me.

"You know, when we land, I am going to have to insist that you give me answers." I said, scowling at him.

He grinned down at me. "I'll gladly answer them."

Ten minutes later, I was sitting on a small love seat sipping a cup of coffee with Drake sitting on the coffee table in front of me, his elbows on his knees.

"Now, I need to tell you something." he said. "Everything that your grandmother told you is real. Everything about the Light and Dark forces is true. Bristyne is on the Dark force as is the man in armor you saw. That was Apollo." He went on to tell me about how the Light force is fighting with the Dark, yada yada, and all of this other stuff that had been going on.

As he was explaining all of this to me, I thought at one point, Maybe if I start drinking, this will make more sense.

When he stopped he looked at me and asked, "So now do you understand why I've done this? You are in great danger. If Bristyne ever got her hands on you, she will most likely kill you."

I thought about that for a moment and looked back at him. "I still don't like you." and then i got up and went to the room he gave me, threw myself on the bed, and cried myself to sleep.
We're all a bit mad...

Apollo:

"I see," said the head of the council, "So Brystine has gone to try do the job alone,"
"I told her it was stupid but she didn't listen," Apollo said.
"I wouldn't be surprised if she succeeded." He sighed.
The darkness council chairman was an old man, he had a grey goatee and wore only black."
"She is strong, i agree, but she lacks the... well... She's just to damn arrogant," Apollo said.
"So she is. She is too rash, that is why she isn't in the council. She has the strength but..." Said the chairman
"-Lacks the experience,"
"No, no. Both you and Brystine have enough experience, she just simply lacks the wits. She has the tendency to make everything blow up. She is too aggressive."
Apollo frowned "Isn't that what the darkness is about? Evil, aggressive etc.?"
The chairman waved his hand in denial "No. Aggressive and Evil are not the same thing. Though you are right. Darkness was about evil,"

"Was?"
The chairman smiled "Nowadays it's a darker shade of grey. People start having morals, and senses of pride. Let's take you for example, you don't like killing the helpless. Even the light isn't light anymore, it's a light shade of grey. Just think of that girl who almost cut you in half with a spike. No remorse, is that light?"

"no sir," Apollo answered.

The chairman relaxed "You have the skill to be on the council, but you lack the strength. You can do more with your limited strength than many people can do with all of their vast strength. But still."

"Just like Brystine has the strength-" Apollo started.
"-but lacks the skill, yes." the chairman answered. "Your strength never got to grow too much, you always cut people."

"I don't like burning them,"
The chairman snorted "Darker shade of grey."

"So what are your orders?"
"Go check on Brystine, don't get involved unless you can catch the girl or Brystine is dying."

"Yes sir."

Brytine

I flew to the 'safe-house.' Which turned to be nothing but a worn down beach hut. I stifled a laugh. This would be too easy.

"Hello Drake," I said loud enough for his immortal ears to hear, but too low for Rose to.

"I'll be right back," he called to the girl inside. I could hear him running quickly to the outside of the door. I jumped off the roof behind him.

"Having a nice time?" I asked, walking closer. "Too bad you didn't invite me. I have some wicked ideas to share." He raised his chin and I cocked an eyebrow, smiling at his foolish bravery. He didn't stand a chance. Didn't he realize? I am Brystine. Not just a fire immortal but the fire immortal. The one born from Satan himself. Too bad he didn't know this.

"Actually, I was having a nice time. And you'd better leave. Unless, of course, if you're foolish enough to mess with me at the moment," he replied. I smiled.

"Oh but Drake, don't you see? I'm stronger than you and even on the off chance that I get tired or...you feel strong enough to keep me busy Rose will come out. You can't protect you both." I grinned but he remained calm.

"I don't plan on protecting us both. The way I see it if I kill you quickly we won't have to worry about it."

"Too late," I whispered, seductively. We both heard the sound of rattling metal.

"Drake? Where are you?" An innocent girl's voice asked. I smiled. I was starting to like this Rose. She was making everything easy for me.

Name: He goes by many names. But to his friends, and only close friends, he is Nickolas.

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Side: Undecided.

Element: Lightning.

Appearance: The man is tall and muscular, but not like body builder, just like he is strong, and is about six foot two. He suits some short, sort of spiky, brown hair, with a few strips of blond in it. His eyes are a cold, and piercing, dark blue, that seem to be able to read your thoughts and see your past. Usually his clothes are loose, but cover his body, and allow full movement in battle. Along with his two blades he keeps strapped in an X on his back, with two daggers on his belt.

Personality: He is cool and calm most of the time, with only a rare slip of anger. Not afraid of anyone, he will take any challenge he feels like, and beat anyone who gets in his way. As the best fighter and assassin known, he is feared by many, admired by some. He is cold with his job, and does not care what you expect, he will do the kill whatever way he pleases, and people will pay him any way, out of fear.

Other: Up for love, twisted love, but love.

Hm Bolt, I have a feeling that Brystine and Nikolas won't get along. You're personality for him sort of suits Brystine. It would be extremely interesting if they ever got in a fight. Brystine, also, takes down everything in her path and isn't afraid of anything. I believe you've made this storybook a lot more interesting.

Martin

The motorbike he'd 'commandeered' came skidding around the corner and up the road to the beach house, Martin able to see Drake and Brystine standing on the roof of the house from behind the windshield of the bike. The girl Drake was meant to be protecting - Rose - was standing in front of the house, looking around, a confused expression on her face. She called out something, but Martin couldn't hear what over the wind. Brystine looked thrilled with this particular development, and fire came to life in her hands. He revved the engine a little, increasing the speed.

Drake looked from Brystine, to Martin, to Rose as she took a few steps down the path. Then, out of the blue, Brystine hurled a fireball at him. She never holds back... Martin reflected, seeing shoddily worked tiles flying off the roof as the fireball arced towards Darke.

But the air immortal was faster, throwing himself sideways off the roof and catching himself just before he hit Rose, grabbing her around the waist and lifting her up and off the ground.

Brystine yelled in rage, flinging more fireballs after him. Then, she turned, seeing Martin out of the corner of her eye. Water from the sea was spinning in two thin streams around the house, building a steep ramp of ice in front of it.

The bike hit the ramp, and Martin twisted it sideways as it did. It was sent skidding up the ramp, and then hurtling through the air, side-on, towards Brystine. Martin had already thrown himself backwards, the water from the ramp morphing from ice to a jelly-like state, catching him easily. As soon as he bounced off it, though, he siphoned off a large amount of it, and turned it back into ice again. The ice split apart into wicked shards, which were sent around the roof of the house, before shooting towards Brystine.

Brystine

I was pissed. How could he have known I was here?! He sent shards to ice at me.

"You son of a bitch!" I screamed melting them. Heat waves were coming off me body. I was about to show them what a fire immortal could really do.

I hurtled fireball after fireball at Martin's head. He could dodge them easily or extinguish them with water. I had had enough. Fire erupted around me, caressing me. My deep red hair grew brighter looking just like the fire around me.

Fire like arms streched out from the circle of fire around me. I laughed. Let's see Martin get out of this.

Drake

"Rose!" I yelled, holding her in the air. I knew Martin needed help but for now I needed for Rose to be safe.

"Why is she here?" She asked. She looked to be on the verge of tears. "Just take me home, Drake. I don't wat this!"

"Listen Rose," I sighed. I couldn't candy coat this anymore. She was a tough cookie and I knew she would handle this. "You can never go home. Not for a very long time. If you go home Brystine will find you. You don't know what she can do. What she will do. We need to get you to safety."

"Like hell I don't!" She yelled. "I've seen enough to know what she can do. Don't tell me what I need Drake. I know exactly what's going on and I don't trust you! You're just like her! I hate you!"

The words stung. How could she hate me. They seemed to cut deep and I wasn't about to try and figure out what that meant. I just had to get her safe.

"Martin needs help," I said quietly. "I'm going to take you somewhere but I need to know you'll stay there. Please Rose, just promise me this. I need to know that you'll be safe."

She hesitated for a moment and finally nodded. I sighed and flew to the tiny wood patch behind the beach house.

"Stay here. I'll be right back," I replied. Martin needed help.

Martin

"You're all mine now, Martin!" Brystine screamed from her rooftop. A circle of fire blossomed around her, and spear like arms reached out from it, stretching towards him, grasping for him.

Martin chuckled, shaking his head. Brystine snarled, "What's so funny, water-boy? You've got nothing on me, remember?! All you can do is shoot ice at me, and I'll melt it before it can get close!"

The water immortal eyed the arms stretching towards him, and smirked, "To obsessed with fighting...never takes any notice of her surroundings." He raised his voice, "Remind me where we are, Brystine, I seem to have forgotten."

The arms faltered for a second, and Brystine frowned, "Where are we? The...beach." Her eyes widened with sudden realisation, and she turned, seeming to notice the sea behind her for the first time.

A great wave was rising up there, towering above Brystine, Martin and the shack. "You wouldn't dare." She muttered, shooting a glance back at him, "You're too much of a goody two-shoes to go for that kind of devastation."

Martin shrugged, a lopsided grin on his face, "I do have total control of water." He said. The wave started twisting, twisting into a single deadly fang. He had to time this perfectly. That fang could destroy a large amount if he didn't freeze it the moment it had hit Brystine. What am I thinking? I'm as strong with water as Brystine is with fire! I'll get this perfect for sure!

Sure, Brystine was probably, overall, more powerful than Martin. But she'd picked the wrong place to fight. At a beach, next to the ocean, a water immortal was unstoppable.

Nick (and no one really calls him that, feel free to make up some name that would relate to killing for him.)

"Your turn," I said and placed the six chamber gun on the table. The man took the gun, and placed the head in his mouth, he pulled the trigger. Only a click escaped though, it was a blank. Russian runlet was a favorite assassination game of mine. Epically by my rules.

"Well then, four rounds, no death. That mean we so some shock therapy, help your bad luck," I said, and made a small, marble sized, ball of lightning on my finger tip. The ball lifted up, leaving a thin thread behind. As the ball moved, it got smaller, and the thread longer, until it reached the man in front of me. He winced as the thread touched him, and a small static shock hit him. He let out a sigh of rife. I smiled, and released another wave, this one with enough power to run a city. The man screamed in agony, but did not die, this immortal was to strong to die by that alone.

The thread disappeared, and I took the gun, rotated the cartridge, and shot it in my mouth. Nothing. The man across from me did that same. This time a bullet came out. The metal bullet went through his head, and blood sprayed me. He yelped, and I placed my hand on the still alive immortal. The amount of volts I gave, and in the speed I gave them to him made it impossible for him to even cry out before he died. Mission accomplished.

I walked away from the scene, and made my way to my car. The drive was long and silent; the only sounds were the winds as I sped down the street. Eventually I ended up where I needed to be, a bar for immortals only.

"Well, did you get him?" a man asked.

"I always do, now pay me," I said and I was handed an envelope of cash. We nodded to each other, and I sat down at the counter. "Give me a beer, and put it on my tab."

"Hey Nick, sorry, but you gotta pay the money today, and you haven’t paid off your tab yet from the last two moths," The bar tender said.

"One, never use my name, And two, either you give me that beer free, or you will get a jolt so big, even your immortal spin won't heal," I threatened. The tender glared, but I saw fear in him. He handed me a beer, and took off. I took a cautious sip.

"Hey you," I heard, and turned to see a woman.

"Well I don't know who you is. But I’m free," I said, she rolled her eyes.

"I am Ceroll, I am a member of the light council, we have a job for you," she said.

"Ah. What kind of job?"

"We need you to help us on a certain mission. Our people have been having trouble lately with a certain dark side member, by the name of Brystine, she is a master for fire that we have been unable to defeat, we need you to beat, and kill her."

"I'll do it," I said.
