Berend-

"So now we're teaching them?" I asked, clearly annoyed and disturbed by this new occurence. The prince seemed taken aback by my tone and I rolled my eyes. Were royalty that easy to ofend?

"Yes. It's to help with their army," Eosa answered.

"Of course, the army. I should've known," I said, sarcasm dripping from every word. Eosa gave me a look.

"There's no point in yelling at me about it. What's done is done."

"Besides, it might be good for the younger generation to learn," said Machiko. Younger generation? She was barely older than them.

I snorted and walked into the tent, leaving Eosa to deal with the princes and the princess (if her parents would even let her come outside). Machiko came into the tent and gave me a hard look.

"You're not much help, you know that?" she asked angrily. I shurgged and smirked.

"Of course not."

Siry

I sat, isolated, in my room. I love m room. It was very nice. My parents though, on;y gave it to me, so I would stay in there more. They didn't need to do that though. I would stay in my room all day. Even if it was a broom closet, that smelled like rotten cheese. Even that was better than being with my reached family.

The room was cool to day. To cool. I got up, and placed a ring, with a silver band, and a craggy stone on my finger. the rock soon became clear, as sun bathed into my room, from the stain glass ceiling. The light danced around it beautifully. With the new found warm feel, I went to train. I placed two dummies in front of me. It took awhile to pain my parents images on them. My swords, I used duel swords to fight, shredded their robes to pieces, and then decapitated them, all in a few moments. It was getting to boring. I needed a challenge.

Rumors had been coming around the village, which i snuck out to very often. That a group of strangers had headed off to the dark castle, to train the army. I would see if I could catch them. Maybe if I could catch them, before they got to the castle, they would teach me.

I did not think long on this. Instead, I gathered a few things into a bag. Set off to the kitchen, grabbed a some food and water, and snuck off the castle grounds. I was heading to the enemy.

Jae

Jae stalked to her quarters and changed. "I don't know how I am supposed to learn anything in this." she muttered as she examined herself in the mirror.

She eventually left and headed to where the allies had set up. Ral and Z were already there, watching the allies practice.

"Amazing isn't it." One of them said.

"Yes." Jae agreed.

"Nice to see you in something proper again." Raleigh's mouth turned into a playful smile.

An evil grin came to Jae's face. "You just wait until I learn to do more than just get you wet." she threatened.

"If mother and father let you learn." Zarin said.

Jaes mouth fell open. She hadn't thought of that.

The king appeared next to them.

"Father." Jae turned to him. "I do get to learn, don't I?"

I sat down, sighing--I was different from either of my companions. Having the beast element had different training than any of the others. You were born with a sort of sense of what to do, it only took a few months to learn that you could communicate with animals as easily as you could humans.

"I've been conversing with some of the palace animals." I said lazily, watching them train, "Asking them about our hosts."

Many of the men in the yard were startled to hear me talk about talking to animals. I grinned, hyper again.

"And?" Of course they wouldn't react; they were quite used to me having intimate conversations with rodents.

"One of the royals, Rae...Jae...Tae...I can't remember her name, but she isn't like the others."

"And?"

"She doesn't like being in the confines of the castle. And I was think that, so at least one of them would trust us, I could take her out and give her some tips."

"Like that would help." Berend scoffed.

"I swear I'll make every bird within a league of here aim their droppings at you if you don't shut up." Okay, so I couldn't ACTUALLY do that...I could only call animals within a few miles. A league was incredibaly impossible at the place I was in my training. It still made anyone (besides my lovely friends) gawk. I giggled and jumped up, my feet moving wildly.

That's another thing about me, like animals, I don't just communicate verbaly. I'll randomly start dancing or singing because that's what animals did. It tended to freak strangers out.

Shasti

"Ah, yes," smirked Shasti. "Father, why don't you address this little issue? Jae cannot possibly charge into battle with the rest of us."

"And why not?" demanded his little sister.

Shasti sighed dramatically. "Come now, Jae, must I spell it out for you? You, my dear, are a girl."

A small smile formed on Shasti's face when little Jae looked as if she would love to hit Shasti.

Jae

Jae glared at her brother. What does it matter if I am a girl anyways? "What if I am captured? Then what would I do to defend myself?" she argued

Jae looked to her father again, hoping he would understand. THough her excuse was only half true, she really did just want to learn from these fascinating strangers.

Berend-

She just has to do that. I groaned as Michiko started dancing randomly. "What is she doing?" asked one of the princes.

"Doing everything in her power to annoy the crap out of me," I muttered. The prince just gave me an odd look and watched Michiko.

"TaDa!" Michiko finished. I clapped loudly.

"Bravo! Another masterpiece."

"You're just jealous."

"Right..."

Michiko skipped off before I could utter a better comeback. The prince looked at me.

"Is she always like that?"

"What? Dancing? Oh no, she's worse."

I think I accomplished my task of making the prince nervous, but then I felt a sudden slap on my shoulder.

"Hey!"

"There's no use in scaring our students," Eosa scolded and turned back. I stuck my tongue out. "I saw that!" she called. I rolled my eyes and watched as the other prince and princess were arguing something with their father.

Eosa

The last couple of weeks were tolerable. All of the royal children showed improvement. I paid special attention to Shasti and also Raleigh, for they had two deities that were most like mine. I couldn't teach them the same way as the other royal who had the core elements. I trained them hard; word had come that the Roshan was going to try to kid-nap someone.

Tonight, I was training Raleigh. Michiko stood by me and watched, and Berend was training the the corner of the courtyard. The guards had lowered their patrol on this side of the castle because if anything happened, we could deal with it.

That was why I was surprised as a guard ran up to me. "Eosa, a friend as requested to meet you. He tells me his name is Zani"

Zani? Why did that sound so familiar?..."Bring him in."

Raleigh looked at me with a curious glance. I had become his good friend lately and was used to it...

Zani. I know who that is now...I covered Raleigh in darkness - hiding him from plain sight. "Go to the farthest corner, but be sure you can hear. I'll explain."

The man walked towards us. I could feel Michiko shudder beside me. Berend reached us just as the man did.

"Siry, what are you doing here?"

His eyes lighted up, "Eosa? Is that you? I haven't seen you since you were just a street performer...So you're teaching them. Pity what you've been degraded to. And I thought performing was as far as you could go."

"Listen, Siry," Berend grabbed him by the collar, "One more word and I'll smash you into the castle walls."

Siry laughed to himself, "I can be gone before you could even move to touch me." He reached up and stroked my cheek, "It was pleasurable to see you again, Eosa."

And he was gone in a burst of wind. Berend and Michiko started to search for him and call an alarm to the guards. My cheek burned from where he touched me. I was so shocked I could barely breathe.

I dropped to the ground and sobbed.

Siry

It had taken me sometime to learn that move. The light had to be just right, and i could make my self invisible by blocking it out to that spot, but bending it just right.

After the meeting, I went to town.

"Hey you. Give me your best room," I called to a tavern keeper as I walked in.

"You got the money for it kid?" he asked.

"Yeah I got plenty. It's right in Pow and Bam," I said holding up me fists.

He laughed. "Good one kid. Now either give me some cash, or get out of here."

With out hesitation In pinned him to the wall, his feet daggling a good three feet.

"Okay kid, here," he rustled in his pocket and took out a key.

"Thanks."

I took off with the key and went straight up, opened the door and fell asleep. Tomorrow I would be going back up there. I needed to see what was happening. The new trick would help

I'm going to say that Jae wasn't allowed to be taught, but is trying to convince one of the strangers to give her secret lessons.

Jae

Jae walked into the courtyard just as the gust of wind blew through and took the intruder away..

"What was that?" she asked as Berend ran past her.

"None of your business, princess. Go back into the castle." he demanded.

Psh, no. Jae thought to herself. She walked to where Eosa was crying on the floor.

"What's wrong Eosa?" Jae asked, placing a hopefully comforting hand on her shoulder.

Eosa jerked away and stood up, rubbing her eyes with her hands. "I'm fine."

"Okay." I said. I didn't want to argue over anything, I had a purpose for bringing myself out here.

I looked around, Raleigh had left with Berend to alert the guards of the tresspasser. It was only Eosa, Michiko, and I. Though Michiko was off in a corner talking to a bird.

"I was thinking that maybe one of you could train me secretly." I suggested to Eosa. "I don't see any benefit in me not being trained at all. What if some enemy tried to capture me? Shouldn't I have a way to defend myself?" I had placed nearly my entire argument into one breath, I hoped Eosa would understand.

~Michiko~

I sighed and broked the conversation with the bird. They, and the rats (the castle had plenty of them), were my only source of information from the outside world but...birds always get off of topic since they're so flighty and rats always want something in return. I still loved them but they could get extremely annoying after a while. That was when I overheard Jae and Eosa's conversation. Due to my hawk-like ears, I was always overhearing things. It got on people's nerves but it really isn't my fault...I think.

The bird went off to follow Siry, as I'd asked it to. Hopefully it didn't get caught. I always hated it when something happened to my companions, especially when I couldn't do a thing about it. Though I enjoyed being young, I couldn't help anybody with my age. Apparently I didn't have enough experiance or something stupid like that. Walking over to the two girls, with that annoying bounce in my step I always got around people I didn't know well, I plopped down next to Eosa.

"Don't worry about me," I waved my hand as if shooing away a fly, "I could hear your conversation from any point in the courtyard so it doesn't matter anyways." Displaying my immaturity, I leaned on Eosa. This wasn’t just because when Siry did that, it scared the crap out of me, but because I knew Eosa was lying. Animals always knew when humans were lying and I had that trait…mostly. And I really looked up to her so I didn’t like to see her break down like that. Then, whispering in a voice that was barely a breath so the princess didn’t hear, I spoke to Eosa, “Siry is being followed. We’ll know where he is no matter where he goes.” She nodded slightly to show she’d heard, but I knew she was thinking about what the princess said.

“It makes sense.” Eosa said, pondering. I think she was glad that she had something to think about other than Siry showing up. My eyes closed, I nodded. Jae being a girl had nothing to do with her ability to fight. She should be able to learn, heck, I had. Of course, mine had been different since it consisted of learning the language of animals, not controling the elements. That was probably way harder than learning how to move water. Poor girl.

Siry

I slept late that morning, enjoying a pleasant nights sleep in a bed. The castles were far away from each, and had few towns between them. The only place I had stayed at was very uncomfortable too. When I awoke, to the unpleasant chirps of a tone deaf bird, I was hungry. The tavern keeper would supply me with food. But first the bird needed to stop.

I walked stiffly over to the windowsill. Strangely the bird stood still, chirping and eyeing me. Immediately I knew the beast kid had placed a command upon the bird. Michiko, I believed was her name. The bird became uneven as I reached close, I reached my hand out, and it was about to jump off, when light hit it's eyes. Still backing away, it fell, right to the ground, from the 5 floor tavern, a strangely large building. I jumped out the window as well, grabbing the ledge two stories below, and then jumping again from there. If I had landed even a little off, I would have broken something. My experiences were strong though, Climbing out of my tower room was a lot harder than a tavern's.

The bird was still on the ground when I landed, and dead. Good no spying for the little bird. After checking the bird’s life status, I hate a hardy breakfast at the tavern. Then I went to work with other item. I need clothes, so I could blend in. My current wear was a bright sky blue royals robe, with bright yellow shoulders, with a expensive white shirt under. I stood out like...well a prince among peasants.

"You will provide me with clean clothing as well," I told the tavern keeper. He did nothing, until I raised my fist, he took off after that. A few moments later he held clothing of the middle class man, perfect. I slipped into them, they were blue and white, my usual wear.

With my new clothes I set off to the castle. When the first guards began to show I went invisible, or as invisible as I could go. People could see me, but more a glare then a figure. And when I walked it was harder.

I saw a training session when I arrived in the court yard, there was a boy using fire and one water, training with Eosa

Eosa

"Good, Zarin. By cupping your hand you can intensify the fire blast and hit more precisely. Jae, you're doing great; now try to hit Berend in the back." I smiled mischievously, I knew she was powerful enough to hit hit from across the vast courtyard.

Jae concentrated and hit Berend so hard he fell over. She was advancing well for only bending for a month.

He looked furiously at me and threw all the earth he could at us. I quickly pulled the two royal children to me with telekinesis, and pulled a force field over us. Michiko went to calm him.

I think it was time to teach them how to fight. As I let the force field go, I noticed a figure in the shadows of the castle walls.

Siry.

He winked at me and disappeared again. At the next moment I felt a tap on my shoulder.

Shasti

Shasti tapped Eosa on the shoulder smartly. She jumped and turned.

"What?" she snapped. Shasti raised his eyebrows haughtily.

"That was uncalled for... You were the one who asked me to be here."

Eosa glanced up at the castle walls. "...Right..." she said slowly, turning back to him.

Shasti waited for a moment. "And what is it you wished?" he asked, forcing patience into his voice. Eosa flashed him a glare.

Jae

Jae laughed as Eosa pulled her and Zarin out of the way of the earth. Bending was becoming her favorite activity, she was glad she had been permitted to learn.

"Watch out Berend!" she yelled across the courtyard as she sent another stream of water his way.

"Please stop that princess!" he yelled.

Jae laughed and danced across the courtyard. "Make me."

"With pleasure." his lips twisted into an evil grin. Michiko tried to restrain him but he was already coming towards Jae.

"Little Jae, always biting off a little more than she can chew." Shasti commented from behind her once he noticed the oncoming battle.

Jae spun and glared at her brother. Berend took the opportunity to hurl earth towards her.

Eosa pulled Jae out of the way with her telekenisis. "Enough of that." she commanded before she turned back to talk with Jae's brother.

Jae crossed her arms, "..never allowed to have any fun..." she mumbled to herself.
