Scottish Highland Photies!

So I went on holiday last weekend to the Highlands. We won a trip. I took like 500+ photos but only came out with 7 I sort of like lol So I will post those ones here, then perhaps post some others in my blog. Like some of the castles and things like that.

Here we go...I don't think that these are some of my best really. I hope you won't be disappointed.

This is on the Nevis range. We went up a ski lift because we got free tickets. It was wet! lol



The guy we went on holiday with was photographing a waterfall at this point, so I wondered off into the forest and took this. I loved that forest! It was so inspiring. I think there is too much light in the top of the photo.



We went to this ruined castle and there were tons of Swallows! Managed to get this one sat on a ledge. I had a telephoto lense on and still couldn't get close enough! But I thought this one was quite good.



I think this was called Stalker castle. We went to 3 castles but this was the only day there was sun! lol



This is in the Glencoe valley. The guy was photographing and I was bored lol People will probably say I could crop this.

1 ~ Pretty! It's a little blurru though, but great details!

2 ~ Yeah, there's definitely a glare at the top. Did you use flash? If you turned that off, it'd be fine, I think... Unless of course you didn't use flash; then I don't know how to fix it. xD I'm a stop rambling now and get on with the review!

3 ~ Aww! So cute! But you're right; it's not close enough. The bird should be more in the foreground. But since I know how difficult it is to photograph animals, I'll let it slide.

4 ~ Oh my God, this is so cool! Beautiful! Great job on this one!

5 ~ Pretty! Nothing I can say about this one, nice job.

6 ~ It's a little blurry, but other than that, nice.

7 ~ It's pretty, but it's missing some of the magic your other photos have. I think maybe the angle wasn't right...

Overall, fantastic job, Becki! You're really talented!

1. I have to say I don't like this one as much as the others. However, I think if you could mess around with the color, it would look better. Gray scale?


2. I love this one. I like how it is just a bunch of levels of green. I love how you captured it.


3.Awh, how cute.


4.This one was my favorite. I love how you captured the water and the castle. Very nice. Can I have this as my background? Anyway, everything in this picture is great. I love how the gray sky is so mysterious. You captured it at just the right angle, too.


5.Not my favorite, but, I still like it. I agree that you should crop it a little. The bottom half should be edited out. But, that's only my opinion. I do love the top half, though. the sky and mountain/hill look great!


6.Once again, I think the bottom half should be cropped to leave the hill and sky. I love how the sun rays are spreading out on the hill. This is also another one of my favorites. Oh! Maybe y could make this into two pictures. Crop just the road. (Having the road as a picture in itself.) That would look col too! Oh! You could also just crop the bottom half to have the bottom as a picture in itself. The road and stream look great together.

So, split this picture in half to have two great photos!


7.Eh. This one was okay. But once again, I loved how the road looked!

Hi Beck! Never seen your photography, I'll look at this and then glance at the others, from the look of these, I'm excited. Here's your review:

1) I love the colouration on this one. The mountains in the background contrast really well with the foreground. It gives a really dramatic affect. The pool of water makes for a good subject. Nice.

2) The light coming through these trees and the dark shadowy base colour is all fantastic. You're a great photographer. You could really sell these things. I've seen things not half as good as yours go up on the market for at least £200. It's insane.

3) The bird brought up to the foreground like this is really pretty, for future reference, you could zoom in a bit more to capture more of the bird and his bold plumage (that's a bit of an overstatement, but I think that word describes it,) against the plainer grayish rock, it would look very nice I think, but still, great picture.

4 & 5) Too nice to comment upon.

6 & &) Not much to see here, it's getting dark, so there's not much contrast available. I can't really comment on these.

That's it. I've always wanted to go some place like that. The landscape is amazing. Good job at capturing some of the best.

Hiya Becki! I finally have incentive to review your photos!

First picture: I'd have backed up a bit to get more water and less sky. The water is really the focus here, so I'd like to see it all. ^_^

Second picture: I told you all about this one before hand, but now I shall tell you again. This second picture is absolutly beautiful and looks like a painting. Very, very very beautiful.

Third picture: I'd crop the bottom here a bit to that the swallow is farther down in the picture. It would also remove some of the rock that's in-focus. That rock is distracting from the picture slightly. ^_^

Fourth picture: Wow. That's a setting. I'd almost liked to have seen it in mist.

Anyways, I'd like to have seen the castle moved over slightly. Right now it's so far off to the side it's a bit hard to spot. Give it more room to break and it would really shine.

Fifth picture: Hmm, I didn't see what you meant by cropping until I got to the actual review screen and saw how much better this looks without all the open space above it. I'd crop maybe an inch off the top? Not much. It's a beautiful picture otherwise.

Sixth picture: There's a bit too much going on here for me to really know where to look. Mostly it's due to the paved path. Had you gone a bit more to the side and caught the mountains and river only it would have been better.

Seventh picture: Crop out the river and road and this is a breathtaking picture. ^_^
