I haven't been here for so long... So I decided to try something very different than my usual stuff. As anyone who reads my regular stuff would know, I'm usually very dark, depressing, so I've embarked on a happy poem, for once. Let's see how it goes. (:

~~~
Bounce, bounce, bounce.
Hop from one thing
to another, no care.
Big smile all I need to
jump around through
pain, joy, whatever
may come to me now.
Not powerful, just
living through the
events as if there’s
nothing to worry
about at all, just
being what I want
whenever I want.
They diagnosed it
I didn’t believe it
Till now, I see it
Finally, I feel it
Now, laugh at it
Done blaming it
Forgiven all of it
My ADHD
a blessing
come from
a curse I’ve
lived with for
years and years.
Silenced, accept
all of my life
in its random
curves and turns.
Living, just living,
nothing more than
noting difference
in my world.
ADHD
Loved
Cared for
Trusted
Hoped
Desired
Felt.
All of it
okay with
me as long
as I don’t
have to live
without it
again.
♥Your tears don't fall,
they crash around me,
her conscience calls
the guilty to come home...♥
Hi there!
Interesting how you turned something which so many hate dealing with into something desirable! I personally don't know anybody who has ADHD, but I know plenty who should look into being checked out. :wink:
Anywho,
good job! I haven't read any of your other work, but this was a good piece.
I really enjoyed this. The structure mirrors the subject matter. Perhaps you could enhance this by making the structure more erratic. For example;
"Bouncebouncebounce
H o p
from one thing to another..."
or something like that. You could run words together as you pick up speed, and have them stretch out, slow or trail off as you change your mind. Then in your final stanza, when you're winding down and coming to a resolution, you could revert back to a regular form.
Hope this helps.
PM me if you have any questions.
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise."
