Note the little bobbing head in the water.... yea she's calling the boy in the boat to his doom. What a sad fate. Please tell me what you think of her! (Sorry I'm not too great at drawing guys)

This was good. I liked the idea, the style, and the actual drawing. Two little complaints though. Firstly, some of the other details besides the mermaid (or is it a siren?) were a little bit fuzzy, but this is probably either because your pencil just wasn't sharp enough, or it could just be the whole getting it onto the computer process, thing... Anyway, second thing I noticed was the whole depth perception thing. I know it's hard to get a sense of depth and distance when drawing something in the water, but all the objects are different sizes and meant to be at different distances, but they're all on the same plane. So that just might be something you want to work on. Other than those two things, good job!
Hello! This was very nice, I could never draw like that.
Some things:
1. Your body shape is very good, it is well porportioned. Good job on that, .
2. The face looks a bit flat. Perhaps add some cheekbones, put more detail in th eye if you can.
3. The backround and other is kind of boring too. Add some more details, to make it interesting yet blending with the picture and not taking away the main point from the mermaid.
4. To do #3 trying using one point perspective, using the mermaid as the vanishing point. PM me if you want me to explain.
5. Overall: Very nice, would look lots better, though, if you sharpied and colored it.
Great job!

Oh, and perhaps resize it to make it easier to see.

This is pretty sweet! But wait... what's that head doing in the water, seriously? Is it... drowning?
The boat looks a little bit tipped, almost as if it will keel over towards us any minute. The mast should be a bit higher, so that if the boy falls over, he won't fall out.
The mermaid is cool. Is she evil, though? Why's she calling him to doom? o.O
Also! The water! Add some drama to it. Shade it, light to dark and so on, because now it's appearing slightly flat.
But! You have skills, dear. Really good ones. Keep up the fabtastic work.

To be able to draw this, freehand, is pretty impressive. I like her hair and her pose, it reminds me of the Little Mermaid.
The problem is the proportions are all wrong. For instance, arms go halfway down to your thigh when you are standing straight, and this siren's arms are too short. I think you should go and find a stock picture on a site like deviantart, and copy from that. When you have an idea of how the body, you'll find that you'll be able to draw figures very easily. Rent a book on anatomy for an artist. There's loads of them.
Another problem is the lack of shading. When you're drawing a sea scene, everything tends to be a bit wet (shocker). But liquid reflects light, and so things like ther mermaid's tail would be very shiny, as would the rock. And the sea needs shading in more, because this is supposed to be a dramatic, sad scene and yet all we see is a head between some squiggly lines.
Your main problem is that you are drawing things how you think they are, not how they are. Like I said, look more into how to draw things properly, because then your drawings will look more realistic.

Hello! I’m Y! I just wanted to add a few little comments.
1. It bothers me how the mermaid is so well done and detailed, and the boy in the water looks kind of like a stick person. (His neck is just a line.)
2. The mermaids left hand (the one in the air,) looks out of proportion with the rest of her arm.
3. The eyes look very wide. Was that intentional?
4. The rock needs a bit of shading. It looks kinda like a curvy box thing. (It also wouldn’t hurt to give it some friends! )
5. I don’t understand what’s happening with her tail. The scales curve up and then just disappeared.
Also, it wouldn’t hurt to make the boat’s opening a little smaller. Right now it’s at an odd angle.
Another thing that confused me was her shirt. On her left side it looks like she’s wearing a tank top, on her right a long sleeved shirt.
Oh, and something else is that when dead bodies are in the water, they sink. (It’s only when the body starts to decay to does it float to the surface.) So it’s impossible for the little dead boy to be up on the surface. If you still want him, I suggest you have him on a piece of wood.
Anyway, this is a lovely little drawing. Keep up the good work! -Y
The picture is a little blurry and light. It was hard to see. I like how you explained what the drawing was about. Most mermaids have tails that look like the one you drew. When taking a photo of a drawing try shooting from the above it gives a better angle. Thanks.
