Hello,

I have a random question that I want to just throw out here, and I'd like for EVERYONE possible to answer.

I'm creating a male character who's strong, focused and poised. I want him to have a job that's very discrete, something unique, with a "cool guy" feel to it and a bit edgy. If you're thinking undercover agents, undercover cops, or a guy who transports packages from one bad guy to the other, it's all be done....but it's kind of in the field that I'm looking for. I don't want him to be a a bad guy, I just want him to be doing a bad or semi-bad job. Something risky that can involve a lot of action and fighting. If you have any ideas, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE right em' down here.

Thanks.
Jacintha

If I were you, I would
a) post this in the Character Development group somewhere, or
b) just join the Character Development group or the Character Tea Party group... I see you aren't new, so you probably know these groups already, but I think they will work better than here. :)

Well a male stripper of course! "Edgy"..."transfers packages"...and talk about "poise!"

Seriously:

-Pimp or pornographer
-Barkeep or a bouncer/doorman
-DJ at the club
-FBI [or equivalent] agent, maybe even a defector
-Floor trader at the NYSE, connections to the shady masters of the universe
-Marine/Army Ranger/CIA etc
-Mechanic
-SWAT grunt
-Gun store owner
-Owner and employee of a freelance truck/moving company

Well occupation or trade and character are related, could be one and the same.
Don't know exactly what you're looking for, so more detail would be helpful, even if it's vague, general stuff. What's this guy's economic status? His morality? His hometown? Why is he in this job field? Is he there because he truly want to be there? Blue or white collar? Is thisa kind of daytime job masking his REAL profession?

Asking questions like this can help give the guy a story.
