In Memoriam

I went to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldior awhile ago, and this is one of the pictures from that shoot.

Expect to see more pictures from me, as I now know how to shrink my insanely huge photographs!

Cool photo. It gives off a dark, sad, vibe.

I think if you cut out the steps on the top of the pic and focus on the actual tomb then it will be better. Did you put the stuff on the tomb or was it there? XD

Maybe make the picture show all of the tomb because the words look a little crooked. Like, one side has more space and the other doesn't. Sorry that's just my pickiness.

I would love to visit this place. It looks cool. But of course sad. Good job on this.

I love this photo!

The detail is great; you can really see all the details, from the pattern in the granite to the pattern on the metal tomb adornment.

I also like the quality, its crisp and neat, and there aren't any apparent smudges or the likewise.

Finally, I love the subject and environment. I'm not saying I like gravestones, but the gray day and bunch of leaves makes it seem like a very solemn picture.

Overall, absolutely great.

This picture is perfect! Picture perfect. What camera did you use? It has perfect focus on the tomb; but I agree with Storm_Bringer... I would cut out a little of the steps in the back.

So to the photo!

I love the concept of this photo. How your trying to capture the words with the tomb and the details on top of the tomb. It is also very clear and in focus and your eye is immediately drawn to the words, which is why I didn't notice that is was off kilter until you told me lol

However something is slightly off for me in this photo. It would have been awesome if the words were at the foot of the tomb but you can't help that! xD Erm perhaps it would have been better had you done a landscape photo rather than a portrait. I would have liked to see the whole tomb, I think it would have made the photo more visually appealing. If you were going to take it portrait I would have tried to cut out the steps in the top section of the photo, they just kind of put me off. Perhaps as well I would have taken it from an angle. So you'd get the words in like the bottom right and the detail on top of the tomb in the top of the frame. If that makes sense! lol Also in the middle right side of the photo there is something there and it makes the frame look a little messy and distracts the attention from the words and the detail on top of the tomb. But I'm sure you will probably sort that out in photoshop as you know how to use it now!

I still like the photo though! And your clearly thinking about framing and how to lead peoples eye though the photo so that they can read it. Which is good! Keep thinking like that!

I tried to take this in landscape, but that wasn't really possible. The tomb is very long, and I would still cut off some of it. And, to get everything, I would have had to cut some words!

I don't know if I'll crop it or not. I was trying to go for the "bottom third" rule, which is where the top third of your picture is pretty much throw-away. Which is what it is now.

I shan't flood the boards, but I have another picture that should be posted in a day or two. More from the same shoot. ^_^
